A friend and I recently stayed at Ashtamudi Villas and it is probably the best I have stayed at. Initially we had booked for 5 days but as work made us travel we stayed only for two days. Very clean and neat place. The owner and manager were very friendly and warm. The manager Sanal welcomed me with a smile...

Battling through Kollam you begin to wonder whether there is any accommodation near to the centre that could be habitable! Look no further, it is here. A few km's outside the centre (~7 mins by Tuk-Tuk) lies this beautifully clean, modern, airy (but no a/c - not a problem with good fan) set of villas on the shore of the...

A lovely room next to the lake, with a splendid little garden and equally splendid hammocks to loaf about in. We also went on some particularly splendid day trips with Francis, arranged by the extremely helpful owner, Prabhath Joseph. Highly recommended.

One of the cleanest and tidiest cottages I saw for this pricerange in India. The staff was very polite and helpful. If you are also planning to do a backwaters boat tour during your stay they will help you with tips and information. Although the place doesn't have a large restaurant, the staff will prepare you a proper meal whenever...

We had the room next to reception rather than a separate hut as the different room descriptions aren't very clear on booking.com. the room was clean and the bed comfy with mosquito screens on...

Ashtamudi Villas is a beautiful small hotel with a few bungalows spread out in a lush garden. The rooms are good with newly renovated bathrooms that even have a rainshower (at least mine had). Both the owner and manager are very helpful and all staff is very friendly. There are several hammocks in the garden to relax. You can book...
