What a lovely place. We only stayed for one night as we were attending a family party locally. From check in to check out all the staff we encountered were helpful and very friendly which gave the whole place such a warm atmosphere. We ate in the bar on the afternoon we arrived and we couldn’t fault the food or the service. Breakfast staff were all very warm and welcoming and there was something for everyone on the menu. Parking was plentiful and free. If we were back in the area again I would definitely stay here again. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in for some time.

Hotel's Favourite
When looking for a wedding venue Fairlawns Hotel and Spa was the most beautiful friendly place we found. When planning our wedding we found Joanne and her team so helpful and supportive through out the whole process. The say before we got married myself and my bridal party booked into the spa for the day and we were all blown away. Not only are all the facilities clean, tidy and beautiful but the staff alone were exceptional. Each and every one went above and beyond to help us with the day and made it incredibly relaxing. The treatments were sensational we each had a couture full body massage and my one bridesmaid had a mother to be massage which we each found so relaxing. When we came out of the sap we needed to take our things to our room and one of the managers Atahir kindly offered to take some of our bags up for us. The day of the wedding the staff bought our breakfast to our room which was delicious to say the least. The staff called up to check if we needed anything while we were getting ready which was so kind. From there when we were leaving to head out to the church Sadiq who was the master of the reception checked in on us and helped us get to the car. When we returned married all of our guest were catered to with drinks and canapés. From there the day seemed to fly by as we all had the most wonderful time. We sat down for our wedding breakfast which was beautiful, all of our guests commented how lovely it was and how each course got better and better. I can highly recommend the mushroom wellington and the passion fruit cheese cake. Our evening reception was fantastic and that was totally down to the staff, they served our evening buffet. They seemed to enjoy the evening as much as we did. The morning after we had breakfast with all of our guests that stayed at Fairlawns and they had set up the room with our table decorations which made it feel so special. Again the staff were amazing and couldn’t have done more for us all. all of our decorations were ready and waiting for us to take away which was so helpful. Honestly I couldn’t recommend Fairlawns enough, if you want the best service you could hope for this is where you should go. Thank you so much Joanne, Sadiq, Atahir and all of the lovely staff you will always be a special place for us. And we will 100% see you soon! Hannah & Jon x

We visited today 28th for lunch as a group of 5 to celebrate my upcoming birthday and it couldn’t have been any better. The service from the moment we arrived and food were equally fantastic. The staff working were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed/wanted. I myself had fish cake starter and spatchcock poussin both were beautiful just unfortunately didn’t leave any room for desserts. I was presented with a lovely personalised birthday dessert plate. Will definitely be back to try other dishes which all sounded phenomenal.

From the warm greeting on arrival it just got better . We were allocated room 50 which was huge with 2 sinks , 2 dressing areas , 2 mirrors and chairs plus two other comfy chairs . The spa area was clean and well Maintained . There is an area which is closed due to a refurb however still 3 sauna areas , pool , hot tubs and the gym . I had a 50 minute body contours treatment which was very good . We had dinner which was of a very high standard and great service from the staff . We had breakfast which was locally sourced and top quality produce. Elliot looked after us on both dining occasions along with a lovely young man and lady at dinner . My only disappointment was the spa lounge ( now birch cafe ) I was expecting a little more although the brownies were very tasty . On previous visits the grazing bar looked more inviting . I will most certainly be back and especially the Sunday slumber offer which included 2 delicious cocktails .

We used the Cedar room at the fairlawns yesterday for a wake. The sales team, in particularly Jo made the process very easy. As we do not live local she was at hand to answer and queries and really made the process a lot easier and stress free. Elliot was really helpful once we were in the room at hand to answer any questions and clear up some broken glass when a picture frame was knocked over . The buffet was lovely and vegetarian options served separately. I loved the touch of adding a candle by my fathers in laws picture as well. Would definitely recommend the Fairlawns as a venue for a wake. Thank you 🙏🏻

Fairlawns hosted my birthday party for 60 guests, on the evening of 3 February 2024. The venue was very attractive and decor of a high standard. Staff were welcoming and food delicious and plentiful. The resident DJ also did a fine job. All of this combined to make a very enjoyable evening for all. However, some aspects of the evening were disappointing: Shortly before the party I received an email from Josh Clarke (Events Co-ordinator),asking if there was any provision required for guests with disabilities. I rang Josh to tell him that one guest has Parkinson’s and is due to have a knee replacement imminently, resulting in very limited mobility. I therefore asked if he would reserve one of the disabled parking spaces for him. He said he couldn’t, as spaces were available on a «  first come first served basis », that they had dinner guests who might need them and that even if he did, people would probably remove whatever would be placed in the space to reserve it. Only by my firm perseverance, did he finally suggest the guest’s wife could park on yellow lines in front of the entrance. Several days before 3rd. we submitted a plan of guests allocated to tables. The night before, 2 guests were unable to attend, necessitating a change in the plan. The morning of 3rd, we delivered the cake and a revised plan to be enlarged and displayed. The number of tables to be laid was reduced by one. On arrival an hour before the party, we saw that the revised plan had not been displayed and the wrong number of tables set. Although the problem was resolved ,it was not the calm start to the evening we had anticipated. Towards the end of the evening there was plenty of food remaining, and in fact several guests had remarked upon this. However, when I asked about taking home the remainder, I was firmly told that it had all gone. This was despite my having asked Josh in one our meetings ,if it would be possible to do that. I said my hope would be that all guests would have as much as they would like but that in the event of there being any surplus, that we would be able to take it with us. Many guests were shocked when I told them I had been told that « it had all gone ». I had been planning on booking Fairlawns for a separate family celebration for approximately 15 people but although everyone enjoyed the evening, I feel I would be more likely to select a different venue.

Thankyou for celebrating with us. We are pleased that overall you had a great time. Its sad to hear that you were disappointed with the fact we don't reserve disabled spaces and that you felt elements of what was requested were missing on the day. Feedback that we take on board.

Thank you Josh and your colleagues for making our day absolutely fantastic. You took the pressure off setting the room as we were at church. After 6 months of planning with your selves it just couldn't of been a better day. From the drinks on arrival (which we arrived 10 minutes early) and the team were already waiting for us. Lunch was of course outstanding as usual (we had we happy guests) and most of all the 2 staff that were making sure everything went smoothly did such that. Also our family were so happy with their stay and their delicious breakfast. So we would like to thank you all so much. We would definitely recommend this venue.

Nice. Well presented and good spa facilities. However missing the finessing one might expect at this price point. I was planning on a second longer visit this coming weekend should all have been well. The shortfalls on my visit here were well below my expectation. The shower had a partial block, so I had to stop the shower intermittently to stop a flood. Also related was a blocked toilet. The shower gel ran out in the midst of the shower. The chicken was overcooked and returned and had to select a second option that I didn't really want that evening.I did declare these to reception, and an apology received.

Thanks for your feedback. We are sorry that there was a blockage in the shower/toilet and that the shower gel ran out - we work hard to try and make sure these things don't happen. On this occasion it appears that we made oversights - for reference to you and other guests - if you let us know when things are not right we will always work hard to put things right for you there and then alongside offering our sincere apologies. We are also sorry that you felt the chicken was overcooked. This is unlike us, we take your criticism in a constructive manner and will work hard to try and reduce similar mistakes in the future.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea, excellent choice, quality sandwiches, scones and cakes. Friendly and professional staff. One slight negative for me, no options for stronger strength coffee, as I say slight negative, but would definitely recommend, we have booked in for afternoon lunch based on today’s service 👍👍👍👍

Fantastic day of relaxation topped off with amazing food by Chef Jordan, many thanks Jordan. Treatments were amazing too with such calming areas. Only wished we had booked more. Facilities are being upgraded which initially caused concern but it be no means spoilt our experience.
