From the warm greeting on arrival to the friendly goodbye, the staff were exceptional. The hotel room, whilst comfortable, was a little dated but the bathroom had been modernised and had an excellent shower. The food was very good but I was disappointed that the restaurant and room service stopped by 9pm. I used the gym once and must say it’s possibly the best equipped gym I have used in any city hotel. The spa looked excellent but I did not have time for a treatment. If you are staying north of Birmingham or want to weekend retreat then I would recommend you stay here.

When looking for a wedding venue Fairlawns Hotel and Spa was the most beautiful friendly place we found. When planning our wedding we found Joanne and her team so helpful and supportive through out the whole process. The say before we got married myself and my bridal party booked into the spa for the day and we were all blown away. Not only are all the facilities clean, tidy and beautiful but the staff alone were exceptional. Each and every one went above and beyond to help us with the day and made it incredibly relaxing. The treatments were sensational we each had a couture full body massage and my one bridesmaid had a mother to be massage which we each found so relaxing. When we came out of the sap we needed to take our things to our room and one of the managers Atahir kindly offered to take some of our bags up for us. The day of the wedding the staff bought our breakfast to our room which was delicious to say the least. The staff called up to check if we needed anything while we were getting ready which was so kind. From there when we were leaving to head out to the church Sadiq who was the master of the reception checked in on us and helped us get to the car. When we returned married all of our guest were catered to with drinks and canapés. From there the day seemed to fly by as we all had the most wonderful time. We sat down for our wedding breakfast which was beautiful, all of our guests commented how lovely it was and how each course got better and better. I can highly recommend the mushroom wellington and the passion fruit cheese cake. Our evening reception was fantastic and that was totally down to the staff, they served our evening buffet. They seemed to enjoy the evening as much as we did. The morning after we had breakfast with all of our guests that stayed at Fairlawns and they had set up the room with our table decorations which made it feel so special. Again the staff were amazing and couldn’t have done more for us all. all of our decorations were ready and waiting for us to take away which was so helpful. Honestly I couldn’t recommend Fairlawns enough, if you want the best service you could hope for this is where you should go. Thank you so much Joanne, Sadiq, Atahir and all of the lovely staff you will always be a special place for us. And we will 100% see you soon! Hannah & Jon x

We got married in early August and had our reception at Fairlawns. There aren’t enough stars to adequately describe how amazing the whole team were from start to finish. We loved the venue from the moment we saw it with the events manager, Josh, who looked after us throughout the whole planning process. Nothing was too much trouble and all of our queries and requests were dealt with quickly and professionally. We knew that anything to do with Fairlawns would be handled smoothly and so there was no stress at all and the whole team were so accommodating. Our menu tasting was such a wonderful experience. That evening we were introduced to Seddiq who managed our wedding. We made some suggestions about amending our main course during the tasting (no mushrooms and providing extra sauce— we had beef bourguignon) and this was all carried out for the day. Portion sizes were excellent and all the food was delicious. We had so many comments about how good the food was both on the day and since. All the food from canapés to the pizzas in the evening were fantastic. The events team were so helpful in setting up our wedding, making sure they knew exactly what we wanted. We had some spare table decorations we weren’t sure what to do with and Seddiq and his team arranged these in other places in the room to tie everything together. Shortly after we arrived from the church, he asked us to view the room prior to welcoming all the guests in so we could check we were happy with it and enjoy a quiet moment away from everyone else. This was one of the most special moments of the day. They had done exactly what we had asked for and we loved how they had arranged the various extras. Our wedding cake was made by one of our bridesmaids and this was placed next to top table in such a way that it was the last thing we saw during this moment. I know this was no coincidence on Seddiq’s part— he really paid so much attention to the smallest details and turning around having seen the other tables and then seeing the cake was absolutely magical as we had not seen the finished article before. Even the day after the wedding, I was dreading having to get everything packed up but Seddiq and the team had already done this for us. All there was left to do was pack it into the car. We were so well looked after throughout the day and everything ran perfectly. The outdoor spaces were gorgeous— we must have been one of very few weddings taking place on a dry, sunny day this summer so we had lots of photos outside and our guests got to use all of the lovely seating areas. These formed the perfect backdrop to our photographs which we had just had back this weekend. The grounds are so beautifully kept, all of the site and gardening teams must work tirelessly to maintain it. Our wedding followed several days of torrential rain and we expected the garden area to be almost unusable as a result but it was immaculately clean. We stayed in the 178 suite which was so beautiful and luxurious. Having access to the spa the following day was the perfect way to relax after the wedding and we were made a fuss of all day by all of the staff from events, to reception, to the spa, to the restaurant. We loved being able to have dinner in the restaurant the day after the wedding to soak it all in and the various waiting staff recognised us and said how lovely the day had been. If we could do it all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing.

A wonderful stay with fantastic food and the room was excellent. We had afternoon tea that was delicious and even had boxes to put in food we couldn’t eat. The bedroom was just gorgeous with rose petals and chocolates on the bed. There was also a bath in the room which was a lovely touch. The four poster bed had lights on throughout canopy which made it very special. Dinner was very good too with a great choice on the menu. The staff were so friendly and helpful and really made our stay even better!

To celebrate a recent MBA award, we three old schoolfriends treated ourselves to Afternoon Tea. As one of our number is a member of the gorgeous Health Club Fairlawns was an obvious choice of venue, but the high quality of service, food and welcome that we received that afternoon has ensured we will return here for all future reunions! The Afternoon Tea itself was an absolute delight; all beautifully presented, plenteous in quantity and utterly delicious - and here I must add a special mention for the stupendous Matcha Cake made by your very talented chef, Jessica Howard; so gloriously unique in flavour and texture that I felt compelled to ask for the recipe, which she very kindly provided - so many thanks indeed! As one would expect from Fairlawns, the service was first class - our Turkish waiter was utterly charming - and the lovely, unhurried atmosphere in the dining room really added to our enjoyment of a fabulous afternoon treat. Thanks, Fairlawns, for making this celebratory reunion a very special one!

I booked a spa day and overnight stay with dinner for my best friend’s special birthday and couldn’t have asked for more. The spa is fabulous and wasn’t too crowded, with lots of different facilities, all very clean and well maintained. Food throughout the day was delicious and our treatments were lovely. Staff in the spa and hotel were, without exception, brilliant, so friendly and helpful, with a big shoutout to Michelle in the spa for the special birthday treats she arranged. Sarah in the spa was also brilliant but everyone was a credit to the hotel. Our room was great, very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Dinner and breakfast was delicious. When booking, I found that there were cheaper packages available elsewhere but very basic when I think about what we had for actually really good value. Plus, after I had booked, spa staff were really helpful via email in helping me upgrade in the most cost effective way. We had the best time - thank you to everyone at the hotel and spa.
