Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place. Very clean. Excellent home made cakes at breakfast. Large private garden just outside the garden and an amazing view. 5 minutes by walk outside the tiny town. You can easily park the car not far from the house.

Really nice location in Val D'orcia. Great wievs from every angle. Pienza only 10 minutes away. Very attentive staff. Cozy room with high standard. Beautiful wiev from the garden. Big garden, quiet and green. You could wish that the leafblower would not be used before 9 AM thoug... :) The only thing missing was a couple of wine glasses in the room. It would have been a nice touch. There is no supermarket nearby... good to know. In general a really nice place!

Six of us stayed at this villa in monticchiello. the villa and grounds are absolutely beautiful. each room had its own bathroom. HUGE property. we used it as a home base as well as made dinner one night. we were there five days. Guido and his Aunt Sonia made us ALOT of coffee in the morning, we had yogurt, toast, pastries and eggs and bacon every morning. MOST importantly, our trip to this area could not have been as incredible without GUIDO helping us plan our itinerary, find drivers for friends dropping in, recommending villages, towns, restaurants, vineyards. We will miss this property but we will absolutely come back and visit these people. absolutely incredible place to stay.

Guido is an EXCELLENT host. The home is an ancient Tuscan villa with great views and an excellent location just outside the walls of Medieval Monticchiello. It was a great base of operations for visits to all the great towns in the province of Siena: La Pienza, Montipulciano, Montecino, and of course Siena and Monticchiello. Very comfortably accomodated four couples in four bedrooms with AIR CONDITIONING during a heat wave. Great breakfast every morning. Our highest recommendation!

My husband, daughter and son-in-law arrived Saturday June 22 (3 nights)and were cordially greeted and shown the property by Guido The house is immaculate and extremely well decorated We utilized the two en suite rooms in the main house and had use of the kitchen in the afternoon and evening. The highlight was having Simoneta prepare a private Tuscano dinner for us one night complete with regional wine Wifi is available and the exterior sitting areas are nicely landscaped with sweeping views. Breakfast is at a communal table with up to ten guests They are very gracious and ever present to assist with any request Private parking. Excellent in all regards

We were looking to stay in Pienza but mistakenly booked in Monticchiello, but what a great mistake. This B&B is delightful, we had booked the last available room which was not in the main building but 150 metres away in the old part of the town. The room was beautifully furnished and decorated, the bathroom was modern and well equipped, free wi-fi was available. The room had been either a place to keep animals or more likely to store oil, meats, cheeses and other local products and the ancient ceiling beams are evidence of the buildings age. We strolled down to breakfast in the hosts lovely garden. Breakfast was plentiful consisting of yoghurts, toast and dolci, eggs (scrambled or fried) were also on offer. All in all a real gem of a B&B

We found the accommodation on-line, but did not book the accommodation on-line. We contacted the owner, Guido, once we were in Monticchiello, and he and his aunt arrived five minutes later. We then booked three nights in the garden cottage. It is lovely situation and location, just below the entrance to the walled medieval village, and the accommodation is very comfortable and well appointed. The hosts were thoughtful and kind, and Guido booked us into two very good local restaurants. Highly recommended.

Had the cottage in the garden in this lovely B & B. Owners very friendly and helpful, and booked restaurants for us. Beautiful area and quaint village nearby town very elegant. Would suggest breakfast could be improved with some fruit and perhaps eggs otherwise perfect. Went to a wedding on the Saturday of our four night stay in perfect location.

I cannot recommend this B&B enough! We travelled with another couple and stayed in the 2 upstairs rooms which had a living area outside of our rooms for reading, evening conversations and wine. Guido and his aunt run this B&B; they were exceptionally accommodating to our needs. We chatted daily after breakfast about daily excursions sites in the region. Every location suggested was perfect! They did laundry for us (for a nominal price) and answering tons of questions about local culture and activities. I would highly recommend booking La Porto restaurant when you book this B&B - as there are only a few restaurants and La Porto is by far the best and has a amazing sunset view. We used Monticchiello as 'home base' and did daily trips in the region. This peaceful quiet town was perfect for our needs. There are plenty of visitors in the daytime as the views are stunning - but very quiet at night!
