I have never seen so much wildlife as I did on this trip. Caimans, all type of monkeys (even lazy monkeys which are SO hard to spot), otters, giant spiders, baby anacondas, all types of butterflies... the list goes on. It felt like I was being let in on the secret of a secret of a secret. The world's secret,...

The Sacha Lodge is a 2 hour boat ride from Coca, where they will pick you up at the airport. Everything is accounted for. The canoe ride really gets you in the mindset for the Amazon rainforest experience. After a short walk and a paddle canoe trip across the gorgeous lake, you arrive at the wonderful Sacha Lodge. It is...

All the other reviews of Sacha Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest Lodge have said it better than I ever could. Everyone in the organization goes above and beyond to make your experience wonderful. The trip to the lodge is worth the price alone. The lodge itself is so well thought out and comfortable. My guides, Gus Recalde and Naturalist, Donaldo, were the...

My husband and I went to ecuador for our honeymoon. The first day in Quito I was reading the Ecuador guide and We went across the description of the Sacha Londge. Two things brought us there: the canopy over the forest and he trip to get there (fly to Coca then get in the long boat for 2hours, walk in...

BEST EXPERIENCE BIRD WATCHING ! impressive capoc tree observation deck! Daniel and Jerry were amazing guides... Daniel was by far one of the best guides I've ever had. Extremely knowledgeable about EVERYTHING ... and he gave us 100%.. didn't get tired, always reliable, pushed for the extras like the night ride... Jerry was amazing too. He didn't speak English so...

The excitement mounted on the trip from Coca to the lodge. First the hour and a half rushing along the Napo river by motorized canoe, followed by a half hour walk along a boardwalk and then a short canoe ride across the lake and you're there! In the jungle. The room was comfortable with everything thought of including a heated...

Don't come here for a rest! Get up for the sunrise experience and off you go! Birds, butterflies, tarantulas, caiman, monkeys, giant otters. Fantastic guides, great food, best Gin & Tonic in South America! The service and attention to detail is highest standard. Fall into bed exhausted each night. Tips: rooms 200 etc have best views of the passing parade...

Visited on our World Journeys " Grand Tour of South America trip " flew via a short flight over the Andes and we were in the jungle of Amazonia. Next we transfered by river to the beautiful Sacha Lodge set in primary rainforest. And what a unique and amazing place it turned out to be. Highlights were the nature walks,...

I didn't want to go. All I cared about was our Machu Picchu Trek but the Best Friend found this place and just HAD to go. So we went. And it was fabulous! My expectations were blown away. It was pricey but totally worth it. Getting to the resort was half the fun. Staff meet you at the airport in...

If you've read The River of Doubt by Candice Millard (and it's a wonderful read if you're thinking of visiting Sacha Lodge), you know that Teddy Roosevelt very nearly died traveling through Amazonia. But you'll have no such worries at Sacha. The Lodge is a bit remote, requiring a fast launch on the Napo River, a mile or so trek...
