We had a wonderful stay at Eileen’s tree in karatu. The staff was extremely nice and friendly . Nice spacious and very clean rooms. Beautiful gardens and perfect pool for a swim after safari day. Special mention to the chef cook and kitchen team who were very involved with the guests and care about all small details. The food was excellent ! Definitely a good recommendation

The place is so lovely! The people were friendly and kind. The rooms were clean and in the bed we felt like princesses with the mosquito nets. The pool and garden area is very nice and the food excellent!

Very nice lodge with a helpful staff. Spacious dining facility with a fully stocked bar, small gift shop on premises, and decent WiFi. Our room, “Melon” had a big, comfortable bed and outside porch area for sitting amongst the birds singing in the morning. Recommended !

Highly recommend a stay at Eileen Trees whilst on safari. Beautiful big rooms with big beds amazing food, beautiful gardens and bush TV every night! The staff are wonderful and nothing is a problem. Love it! We will definitely be back! ❤️

I am often one of the first to avoid Karatu and recommend a lodge on the Ngorongoro Crater rim to get as close as one can to the epicentre of the area. So it came as a very welcome surprise to discover Eileen's Trees as an overnight stop. Situated about a km from the main tar road through Karatu in beautiful grounds one could be on another planet away from the busy Safari circuit. There are about ten or twelve cottages set around the central office building with it's 'tree top' restaurant with balcony above. The welcome was effusive and warm without being too gushing and we were shown to our cottage set a little way back. What a pleasant surprise to find such a nice place. Fully working layout with lovely room and Bathroom with modern fittings. A really comfy bed in which I had one of the best night's sleep of my trip. The grounds were bustling with birds and there was a small swimming pool for the sybarites. The restaurant was excellent and the food wholesome and tasty. There is a well stocked bar, with, unusual for the area, a comprehensive wine list. We had a tasty South African red with our evening meal. Served by the friendliest of staff. (Thank you Veronica). Breakfast next morning was excellent and freshly prepared to order. Everything from healthy cereal options to the usual eggs and bacon etc., Indeed my one regret was that we had picked a stay here for one night as a break in our long journey when we would have loved to have spent a few days here simply relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of Safari life. I hope to be back to try it. …

A beautiful setting with great food, comfortable rooms, a pool and a volleyball court... our grandkids were grateful for these amenities after being on safari! Our stay here was perfect. It was so picturesque and hard to imagine it exists in the midst of the crazy busy city of Karatu!

This is a really lovely hotel to stay at. Staff are really friendly and the restaurant is fantastic. Nice selection of food to suit all tastes and very comfortable. Highly reccomended as the lodges are well kitted out.

We stayed at Eileen's twice, 1 night each day. Of all the places we stayed in on our 10 day safari trip, Eileen's had the best food for vegans. Very happy with the wide selection. Wished wifi could reach our cottage though. You will need to be close to the main building before you can connect. Housekeeping can improve...found the bath towel dirty (minus 1 star for this).

Out of the four or five we stayed at in Tanzania, this was my favorite. It may have been the weather, but it had a very cool vibe. The grounds are beautiful. The restaurant is comfortable. And there is a neat gift shop with reasonable prices next to the Reception. We also happened to catch a local monthly market during our stay.
