Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an amazing stay at Woodybanks - and what accommodating and friendly hosts! My 12 year old son and I were cycling the South Downs Way and had booked in with Jacqui and Graham to recover for the next leg of our cycle. This fantastic B&B just outside Amberley Village on the South Downs Way ticked all the boxes: Right from our arrival our hosts made us feel extremely welcome. We had a lovely twin room with beautiful views over the wetland & Downs and a private bathroom and lounge - all rooms were all immaculately clean & tidy. Ahead of our arrival Jacqui had been very helpful with recommendations for dinner and we enjoyed an excellent meal in the nearby pub. The breakfast was outstanding with a wide selection available; our Full English with fresh coffee was delicious and would put most hotels to shame.

Choosing accommodation in these uncertain Covid-19 times can be a concern but Jacqui & Graham measures made us feel very safe and comfortable. Our sincere thanks for a wonderful and safe stay.

Very comfortable B and B with very friendly and professional owners Jackie and Graham. Excellent location. Wide choice for breakfast was really good. They have regular guests who return year after year and we could see why.

The warm welcome from Jackie and Graham at Woodbanks made us immediately feel at home. They could not have been more helpful during our stay with a fantastic breakfast to get us prepared for our Sunday hike along the South Downs Way. The view from the house are amazing, with fallow deer and pheasants running freely in the surrounding fields and the vast expanse of the Arun river’s flood plain. Well worth a visit and a great place to relax after a day's walking through the beautiful South Downs.

Lovely place, the owners couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We were cycling the south downs way and they let us put our bikes in the garage over night. Rooms were comfortable and we had a nice shower room and lounge to ourselves. Great views over water meadows. Sportsman pub next door does good food and has great views from the rear terrace. We had a great time.

Excellent break from our third stage of our Southdowns Way walk, our hosts were perfect and made our stay perfect. We had accommodation that bordered on luxury. Our breakfast was excellent and the views from the house was wonderful. Although it is on the outskirts of Amberley it is well worth the visit and there is a delightful pub just next door.

Warm welcome, comfortable guest rooms and sitting room and amazing views. I wish Jackie had been honest with me at the time of booking that there would be a prayer meeting on Monday evening I would not have booked as the guest sitting room is directly below the bedrooms, instead of springing it on us on arrival. Did not think much about it. Never envisage that we would be kept awake till 11:30pm. I was very upset as I could not sleep due the loud talking, and singing of hymn. Normally it would not have been a problem but I am recovering from a long illness just wanted three nights in a quiet location. The next day we were tired and I had a splitting headache we decided to leave and go home. My son had made me promise not to say anything. Most inconsiderate.

We had a lovely weekend at Woodybanks. Jackie and Graham gave us a vey warm welcome, and were very helpful throughout the weekend. Woodybanks is warm, comfortable and quiet, the breakfasts were delicious, and the view the best of any B and B we have been to. We didn't want to leave! The area also has plenty to offer- there's loads of information available in the cottage. Thank you Jackie and Graham for a lovely Easter weekend, we will definetly be back.

After a full day's walk along the South Downs Way Woody Banks was just what we needed. We were greeted with a warm welcome, drinks and lovely cake and biscuits. Jackie and Graham have two rooms and one bathroom but don't let out the two rooms to people that don't know each other, so you have your own private bathroom. You also have the luxury of your own living room which is really comfy and has amazing views. There is plenty of hot water and a powerful shower and a lovely comfy bed with fab soft sheets. There was a good choice for breakfast. This is a lovely B&B in a beautiful part of Sussex. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Jackie and Graham provided a very warm welcome on arrival. Their home is surrounded by beautiful gardens which were made to relax in. The view from the twin room was stunning - the gardens in one direction and the vast river flats in the other. The bed was extremely comfortable; the shower was hot; breakfast was ample; off-road parking; cosy sitting room - everything you could ask for. The Sportsman Inn is next door and provides a great meal and a stunning view of the sunset. We were fortunate to be entertained by Morris Dancers on the evening we dined there. The village of Amberley is beautiful with its numerous thatched cottages. A great stay!
