Have popped into this place for coffee on a number of occasions, over decades, but this was the first time I'd had a meal. The menu was quite limited. In itself, that isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the food was rather average. Overall, I thought it was a little underwhelming. The venue is lovely, and standards need to reflect... More

The room was pretty clean but a bit dusty in the less obvious places. The food was good. The service was very slow at breakfast as there was insufficient staff. Generally the staff were extremely pleasant apart for the receptionist that we encountered as we checked in.

This was my second visit and I stayed in a different room, (room 10). Again, room was clean and comfortable, and a very reasonable price with breakfast included. Staff are very friendly and food is always excellent!

There needs to be 2 reviews for this. For the food, bar and staff a 4 rating applies. For the accomodation a 1. Rooms are in a terrible decorative order paper peeling off walls and ceilings, battled paintwork and lots of dried out damp stains in the room we were expected to use. A second room was better but not... More

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable single room. Good night's sleep and plenty to eat at breakfast. Was lucky to get the last space in the car park as I arrived just after 2pm and pub still had lunch time customers. Room was upstairs from pub but wasn't aware of noise from there or from adjoining rooms although I did hear... More

I had never stopped here before and it was absolutely fantastic. From checking in I was met by friendly and enthusiastic staff and I stopped in Room 10 which had contemporary decor and was very comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was also very good. Pork Chop with a side of seasonal vegetables followed by a Pear and Plumb Crumble complimented... More

We stayed for one night whilst visiting the Chilterns, and will stay again if in the area. The Red Lion's best asset is it's friendly and efficient team of staff. The food is pretty good too (we had an excellent dinner and breakfast), although the fairly extensive winelist is a little pricey. Our double room was very clean and comfortable.

The accommodation was comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. And both breakfast and our evening meals did not dissapoint. Would recommend a visit to people on holiday or professionals visiting the area.
