Was so looking forward to the Wishing Well opening again but very disappointed with our meal. Also all the lovely staff have gone! New managers seem quite pushy. Not the lovely atmosphere there was in past.
The pub is lovely, nothing too much trouble for the staff. Dining area is very comfortable, with log fires, comfy chairs, food is superb and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good on a hot plate, quality sausages and bread too! The rooms are very clean, but very tired. The mattress was collapsed on one side leasing to a sleepless night. Overall I would love another visit for a meal, but would be reluctant to stay over. Caravan area to the rear however looked brilliant with hookups, so that mat be a solution!
Stayed one night here on a trip to Norfolk. We landed on a Sunday late afternoon and hadn't realised that there was no food after about 4.30 so had to look elsewhere for a meal. However, they did recommend another local pub, where the food was amazing and phoned to book the table for us. The room was clean and the bed comfy, with TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a reasonable sized en suite and shower. Breakfast in the morning, was provided in a small area of the restaurant, by the manager on duty. He did a good job and we both had great scrambled eggs. A good value stop on the way and an excellent nights sleep, even though this was the weekend of storm D and it was incredibly windy!
Upmarket pub with good restaurant food, cooked fresh by in-house chef. Beer kept well. Room fine but limited space for clothes and bathroom compact, with need for extra shelving. Helpful, efficient staff. All good value.
Went here on Monday in January 20% off whole bill shall I say firstly! So menu limited, waiter told us starter specials but not main specials. I had lasagne (big enough for at least two people), good with garlic bread and salad which was disappointing just salad leaves. Son had ham and eggs which again was good but was slightly disappointed when he saw the ultimate burgers come out.... menu needs to go into more detail!!! Burgers were very good. Other son had pie delicious. Would definitely visit again but they just need to be more descriptive on menu and make a salad more interesting!! Puddings OMG 😮 were huge, one had baileys cheesecake good but needed more baileys!! Sticky toffee pudding to die for 🤤 croissant bread and butter pudding didn’t work for me! As said before a gem of a place choose wisely... 💕…
