Borgo I Tre Baroni is your resort surrounded by the green of the Casentino Forest National Park, in the Casentino valley, away from the traffic of everyday life. Here you can rediscover the value of time, marked by the bells of the church of Moggiona. We are committed to maintain the welcome and care of our guests every day, as the Tuscan tradition teaches us. A stone's throw from the thousand-year-old Camaldoli, Poppi and Chiusi della Verna, our Casentino is a land that has a lot to offer. Take back your time. You can discover the flavors of the cuisine of the Mater restaurant, before getting lost in the Apennine horizon that can be seen from the large terrace. You can read a book borrowed from our library immersed in the green of the pool space, after a long walk in the forest. You can drink a glass of wine from the garden of your Spa Suite and smell the countless aromatic plants that are throughout the hotel.

We looked for a nice stay with a good restaurant and we found this gem. It’s in the countryside and a beautiful drive from Arezzo. The hotel itself is an old villa with big old fashioned rooms but very comfy, clean but not really outdated. It has a certain style. We were welcomed by a very nice and helpful lady who made us feel at home.
During our stay you could hear the roe-bucks calling, there must be lots of them. Also wolves although you seldom see them. Breakfast the next morning was served at your table and good quality.
Dinner in the modern restaurant was very special. I don’t know how you call this style of cooking but it was certainly excellent, fresh products and prepared with love. You can choose different tasting menus but we selected our own, 3 courses and a desert. As a starter we had a delicious hors d’oeuvre, not included in the menu. After dinner they prepared us an infusion with sweets. It was a surprising and nice experience.
Wines are extremely expensive but we found a good bottle for a reasonable price.

Ideal place to stay in Casentino - East Tuscany. The rooms are clean with a wonderful bathroom en suite. We stayed in de Suite de Luxe with a beautiful view at the Castle of Poppi.
The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was luxurious with many choices.
Recommended is a visit to the Restaurant Mater for an evening never to forget.

The hotel is situated about 9km above Ponte a Poppi at the far end of Moggiona. It is run by the 3 Baroni brothers.

I would say that you really need a car to get to it but its worthwhile. It looks out across the valley and is situated in a national park.

The bedroom was clean and comfortable and very peaceful. It has a small pool which lets you look across the valley and it was extremely relaxing just to lie on a lounger and let your cares slip away.

Breakfast had the usual continental fare - meat, cheese, bread & jam. There was a toaster and each table got croissants. The dinner menu is not large - about 4 choices for each course so it could become a bit limiting if you were staying for a week, however the food was excellent - well cooked, imaginative and well presented. The hotel website mentions a special price for dinner for residents - make sure you ask for it before ordering to get it.

This place has a special charm - because it is relatively small the staff get to know you and they really want to provide a good service to you

Special mention to Andrea Baroni who was extremely helpful - nothing was too much bother

Whilst it is sited in a slightly remote area I would certainly stay again if I was in that part of the world.

We were greeted like family at check in, we immediately felt welcomed, our room was upgraded which was a lovely touch. Our room and the resort has the most amazing view of the forest, we had a very comfortable one night stay and wished we had longer to enjoy all that the hotel has to offer. We had an amazing dinner too and would recommend the tasting menu, the drinks are very good value and the service was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was good, we had everything that we needed, and a lovely table overlooking the great view. We felt very relaxed during the whole stay, it was so quiet, peaceful and pretty, we really didn't want to leave and will definitely go back the next time we are in Tuscany.

This hotel is located in a beautiful tuscan valley within a national park. It was excellent value - service was excellent and the food was wonderful. Also a good wine cellar with a good range of prices.

The only down side is that I thought it slightly remote for visiting some of the main tourist towns/cities in Tuscany. Having said that we travelled to Umbria although it took about 2 and a half hours to reach Lake Trasimeno.

However if you are looking for somewhere to rest and recover from the stress of everyday living then I can think of no better place.

Highly recommended - special mention must be made of Andrea .

The place is beautifully located close to Pioppi and Eremo of Camaldoli. Rooms are really simple but clean. The Hotel own a gourmet restaurant and a local restaurant where we had a delicious dinner. If you stay with them and eat at one of their restaurants you will get a very good bottle of red wine made by them. Breakfast is tasty with home made cake, pity that eggs are not included. Overall really positive experience.

Dear fra1984waddawedder, thank you very much for your feedback! We are happy that you loved our location and the beautiful sourroundings of Camaldoli, Poppi and the Casentino Forests. We are also really happy you've enjoyed a dinner at the Locanda dei Baroni in Camaldoli! We are sorry you did not order eggs which are included, as written on the buffet: scrambled eggs and boiled eggs (together with cheese and ham) are done at the moment from the kitchen so you just need to order to our staff and we will provide them for free. Thnak you once more for your kind feedback and we really hope we could host you once more! Best Regards, Marta

My husband and I held our wedding in I Tre Baroni in June 2012 and it was just amazing! We travelled from Northern Ireland and brought 60 guests with us, most of whom stayed at the resort. From the very outset, the service and attention from Andrea and Marta was second to none. They organised everything we asked for, provided us with lots of wedding ideas and made our day just perfect. Our guests loved the venue and over two months later everyone is still talking about what an amazing place I Tre Baroni is. We cannot thank Andrea and Marta enough as they made our dream wedding a reality. If you're thinking of having a Tuscan wedding you must check this place out!!

As many properties in this region the hotel is dated with old fashioned rooms and very hard beds. But the rooms did have windows to some breathtaking Tuscan views.

The only nice bits were a lovely new pool and verandah overlooking the Tuscan countryside.

Breakfast was average and there was not much choice.

Would not recommend unless passing through the area.

Beautiful place with absolutely nice & helpful people. Good food, nice service, not far from the Arezzo, Poppi, San Gimignano, Siena, Florence. We spent great time in "I Tre Baroni". Go there. Order everything from menu. I think there are no better or worse positions. And drink wine Toscana.
