Detailed Reviews
In 1991 we came for the first time at Gesser. In total we have been there 22 Times. We always say that we are coming home if we arrive there, that is the strength of the Gesser family.
The rooms are wel equipped, spotless clean. Breakfast buffet is great, for all kinds of breakfast there is something. Dinner is perfect, you can choose between 2 starters 2 main and 3 dessert. Presentation quality and diversity are at high Standard. There is a bar where you van have a drink.
We recommend hotel Gesser for all guests who enjoy family hotels where you will find a personal touch.

Small family-run hotel, you feel at home, friendly and helpful, they make your holiday a fairy tale. We stayed for the weekend of the Immaculate Conception and had a great time. Comfortable and clean rooms, each room has its own view which allows you to breathe the crisp air of the area in the morning. Snowy is a spectacle

We came - saw - and the Gesser family won on all fronts!! A very warm welcome from the junior manager, as there was no elevator he personally helped with the transport of the suitcases (really great performance), the rooms on the 2nd floor were very comfortable, fairly new and completely functionally renovated, refrigerator available, enough storage space, bathroom very nice! Balcony great for enjoying the afternoon sun. Breakfast buffet and dinner at its finest!! Head chef Gesser junior can only be congratulated for his talent!! We looked forward to dinner every day.
There are enough parking spaces (although the cars are getting bigger and bigger), a bicycle garage available as well as cables for charging the batteries (something could be thought up). You feel very comfortable and welcome. There is also a sauna, which we didn't use, but we were in the very cozy garden and enjoyed the drinks which were always served with salty biscuits.
Price-performance ratio okay. Location quiet.

Together with a friend I spent a wonderful hiking and cycling holiday in Sillian.
At the Hotel Gesser we felt very comfortable from arrival to departure and were well looked after and looked after by all the staff of the hotel.
Car and bicycles were well and safely stored, room changes (I had booked a wrong category) and food intolerances were no problem, everything was taken into consideration and responded promptly.
Breakfast and dinner were delicious and - from my point of view - much preferable to the two places we visited. Praise to the cook.
Friendliness, attention and helpfulness are very important at Hotel Gesser, without seeming intrusive.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Gesser and would love to come back.
Many thanks to all the people who cared for us there.

My husband and I spent a night at the Hotel Gesser, during a motorbike trip. The hotel is located in a very convenient position just 15 km from Dobbiaco and the beautiful roads of the Alta Pusteria. What to say? The hotel was a nice surprise for us: modern room and bathroom, perfect cleanliness, the Gesser family was very welcoming, ready and available to satisfy any of our needs or requirements. The food is really good and I must say also cheap.
For motorcyclists, I would like to point out that the hotel has a small garage to shelter motorbikes during the night (3 or 4 motorbikes can fit there).
We will definitely return and recommend it to friends.

We have been coming to the Hotel Gesser for years for skiing holidays with our children. There are many regular guests here.
The friendly hosts, the modern, clean rooms, the very good, high-quality food, a generous choice of menus, the good location, the sauna, ... no wish is too much and the Gesser family is always generous and helpful. All of this makes us very satisfied here.
The ski bus leaves directly from the hotel. The next stop is the valley station.
In the evenings we like to walk the few minutes home. We leave our skis in the lockable ski box at the valley station. The hotel also has a ski cellar with a heated boot dryer.
We enjoy the small, fine ski area. No one gets lost here. It is not overcrowded, even during the holidays!
If you need a large ski area, go to the neighboring town to the "Drei Zinnen".
Price/performance is unbeatable here.

This small family-run hotel is perfect for those who want to visit the Alta Pusteria both in summer (the San Candido-Lienz cycle path passes a few tens of meters from the hotel) and in winter (to ski in the Drei Zinnen area you can take the train and in 8 minutes you are at the departure of the Versciaco cable car).
Furthermore, even in high season, Sillian guarantees much more tranquility and less crowding than the neighboring towns of San Candido and Dobbiaco.
The hotel managers do everything to make your stay pleasant.
Excellent breakfast and dinner. In the kitchen the chef (brother of the owner) improves from year to year.
The quality/price ratio is decidedly positive.
The rooms are comfortable and recently renovated.

Once again, we and our friends spent a wonderful skiing holiday with the Gesser family in beautiful East Tyrol. In addition to the family atmosphere of the family-run hotel, we are always impressed by the extremely friendly and courteous service, the very comfortable and tastefully furnished rooms and of course the culinary delights that were served to us by the Gesser family. It always feels like coming home. 6 out of 5 stars!!!! We are already looking forward to our next skiing holiday with the Gesser family.

We have been several times at the Hotel Gesser and we felt very comfortable again this time. The room was modern and very appealing and even had its own refrigerator. The bathroom was also very modern, with floor-level shower, lots of shelves etc. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. The hotel is very quiet, parking is available in sufficient numbers.
And dinner was always a single taste revelation. For friends of modern light cuisine, half board is an absolute must.

Ciao...si. L´hotel Gesser é gia in Austria.
A Sillian, il primo villagio dopo la confine.
Sono solo 10km a San Candido e solo 17km fino a Dobbiaco!
Saluti dalle montagne,
Fam. GESSER
il cibo è praticamente quello locale che però è molto simile a quello del trentino edd alto adige italiano. Noi (modenesi) abbiamo apprezzato tutto, con la curiosità di fare nuove esperienze che occorre quando si viaggia
