We didn't actually stay at the Bungalows, but we toured one of the bungalows, ate at the grill several times, and went on a fabulous day trip with the owners, Drew and Suzanne.

The accommodations:
The Bungalows are very charming and just about as close to the beach as you can get without being beach-front. Drew gave us a tour of the one of the bungalows and it was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We would definitely recommend staying here -- you're getting a nice, clean place to stay for a great price.

The restaurant:
The food at the grill was delicious (the ingredients are so fresh!) and very well priced. We ate there twice and loved the ambiance so much that we had drinks and played cards there several other times as well.

The owners and the sights:
Drew and Suzanne were so kind to invite us out on a day trip with them. We took a small fishing boat out to three different secluded beaches over the course of the day, Playa Fronton, Madama, and Playa Rincon. Drew and Suzanne got us a great deal on the trip since they knew the captain, a kind, knowledgeable local. It was a fabulous day and lovely getting to know Drew and Suzanne, who had lots of spot-on recommendations for things to do in the area.

The owners, Drew and Suzanne, really made our experience amazing. They provided clear directions and other helpful information prior to when we arrived and were extremely friendly. Their excitement and insight about the area really enhanced our experience. We were in relaxation mode the entire weekend. I would definitely recommend others stay here and am already looking forward to many weekend trips to Las Galeras in the near future (and we will definitely book here if there is availability!).

The bungalows are simple and clean. Each bungalow includes a private front porch with a table and chairs which is perfect for relaxation. Next time we come, I'm going to be sure to bring a deck of cards and a bottle of my favorite wine to enjoy on the front porch in the evenings.

Be sure to ask the owners and staff for recommendations - for example, Drew directed us to nearby beach to watch the sunset one evening. He also recommended and gave us walking directions to a secluded beach, which was definitely worth the walk. We ended up spending most of the day at this secluded beach.

Definitely ask about Rudy's Rancho. Bungalows of Las Galeras called up Rudy on Saturday monring and arranged a horse back riding tour along the secluded beaches for that day. It was an amazing experience and affordable, and Rudy was both friendly and informative. He made the experience one of fun and relaxation, and we will definitely be contacting him in the near future!

I can really recommend this place. Clean, good location, very helpful staff, delicious breakfast and the beach is just a few minutes of walking away. Need I say more?
Already the trip to get to Las Galeras was a little adventure and I would recommend everyone to try out going with a gua gua. Best way to get to know the Caribbean culture a bit more!

Let me start by saying that the Bungalows are just that, bungalows, so if you're after luxury amenities this is not for you. They offer clean, simple and functional lodging with a great hangout bar at an affordable price. The place has a special feel-good appeal and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Its location will lead you to pristine sugar sand beaches and a grassroots Dominican experience. At no time did we feel unsafe or worried about our belongings. They have a night watchman and always someone around during the day. The food is mostly bar food but the breakfast was included in our package. Great homemade style breakfast too! I loved their tacos for lunch or even dinner. Some downsides were mosquitoes and the noisy mornings (close to center of town). although the bungalows do not have AC units, the fans were doing a fine job at night and I didn't ever feel that I can't sleep because of the heat, and I'm from SLC, UT... One thing you'll notice is that you will meet interesting people in this place. Its guests are not afraid to travel the world unlike your run-of-the-mill all-inclusive resort tourist. It was our first time in DR and staying at the bungalows of course and I have to say I would go back in a heartbeat. Good job to Susanne and Drew on managing this great little place in paradise!

Beautiful bungalows, recently renovated by Drew and Suzanne who cannot do enough for you. Beds and pillows so comfortable, everything spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast on your terrace or in the restaurant which is now serving wonderful food in the evenings. Would definately stay there again.

We visited Las Galeras in February 2015 and had peeked at the Internet, but not made reservations. We were so happy to get a bungalow for two nights with hosts Suzanne and Andrew, who have done a great job on remodelling and repainting the cute bungalows and getting the garden turned into something very lush right in the centre of Las Galeras at the main intersection.
We could easily walk down to the end of the road to the beach and also walk to the nearby beaches. Our rented car was parked right outside. We used it for going to Rincon Beach. Despite being so central the place was very quiet in the evening and at night, as loud music from stores and discotheques are further down the road leading out of town.
In bungalow #3 we had a king size bed and enjoyed a very tasty breakfast both mornings with big mugs of tea and coffee. The whole place was very clean with new décor and fluffy white towels. We enjoyed sitting on our porch just relaxing.
They spray for mosquitoes (the only small snake in this paradise), but it would be very wise for all visitors to bring insect repellent with a lot of deet. You will need it for any place in the Dominican Republic.

Drew and Suzanne are the nicest people from the USA who have a spotless, charming oasis here. They think of every detail (hot water, cold beer) to comfort you. New superior beds and pillows. Gorgeous gardens, their hard work is evident. We'd recommend it to our family and friends. We've traveled in 76 countries and know quality. This is it!

My boyfriend and i traveled to the DR in March 2015- we rented a car and drove from Santo Domingo to Las Galeras for 4 days. We stayed at the Bunglaos and it was wonderful. Drew and Suzanne were gracious hosts and struck just the right balance between checking in and caring for us and space. We loved the accommodations and the delish breakfasts. The rooms were clean and functional and brightly painted. The hot water and pressure were fantastic.
We loved Las Galeras-- plenty to do-- beautiful beaches, lovely mountains to explore, adventures to be had and good amenities including a variety of restaurants within minutes. Drew and Suzanne helped set us up with a great tour guide while there too. My boyfriend and I both wished we had stayed in Las Galeras our whole vacation.
Thanks Drew and Suzanne!

The best about this hotel is the location: just a <5 minutes walk to the fantastic Playa Las Galeras with its slender beach and beautiful palm trees (once there, go right!). The hotel itself is nice, cute little bungalows with small garden well taken care of. Some mosquitos as in any similar location as well. Staff is friendly and speaks at least broken English. Prices are ok. The breakfast (we were sent to the hotel opposite the road, I can't say if it's always like this or just because of less tourists during off-season) was amazing, a full table of bread, cheese, sausage, drinks and fruits for two people, we could have fed a whole family with that. Plus great service and friendly staff. Definitely a good recommendation at least for a short stay.

We stayed at Bungalows of Las Galeras for 4 nights and it was good. We were welcomed by Suzanne who showed us our bungalow (we got one in a corner of the beautiful and lushous tropical garden. It felt very private). She was very friendly and gave us all the info we needed to enjoy our stay.

The bungalow itself is quite small but clean, comfortable and - most importantly - VERY quiet. We live in the DR and we know the pueblos can be loud.

We really enjoyed the delicious breakfast - Suzanne makes your eggs any way you want them and she serves them with yummy fresh fruit and coffee or tea. I'm a tea junky and I really appreciated the good quality they have here.

The bungalows are in a great location too - it's a 2 minute walk to the main beach where you can find bars and restaurants and it's something like 10 minutes driving to La Playita (our favorite spot in the area).

Another big plus is that they accept dogs at the bungalows (we have one and she had a great time playing in the garden).

The only thing we couldn't try was the onsite restaurant - Suzanne explained they only open the restaurant in high season. Maybe next time!

All in all Bungalows of Las Galeras is a very good choice for a few nights in Las Galeras and we will definitely go back if we decide to visit the area again!
