Went here with my parents, who know the owners, Gregor and Michelle and have had the Sunday carvery lunch before. Three courses for £13.95 is an astonishing price for great food and plenty of it. Two choices of soup, two cold starters followed by brisket of beef, turkey and gammon then two choices of dessert - Apple and Bailey's Sundae...

We've been here a few times, always a good feed and I enjoy the Punk IPA on draught. Certainly recommended for family visits and as a couple too. A good mixture of locals, families and tourists are usually visiting.

This is my local so it's a bit biased but the staff are friendly and willing to help. They go out their way for tourists and you can't get a better location for visiting Stonehaven. Craft and regular beers available and they make a fine cup of coffee. The food is good and the restaurant is always busy.

Several things that stood out... -All the staff were very helpful and friendly -The full Scottish breakfast was excellent with plenty of other things to choose from if you fancy something lighter. -Our room was kept spotlessly clean -Great central location in the town and 1 minute away from the...

Stayed for the weekend, had to ask for hairdryer as there wasn't one in the room, only a small hand held mirror in bedroom. Went down for breakfast both mornings at 8.45, young guy on his own who didn't seem to notice that there was no clean tables, no fruit salad, no orange juice, and no brown bread. We had...

Stayed here one night last week as a business trip was extended and I had been invited for a meal in Stonehaven by a colleague. The Royal Hotel/Bar 44 recommended as it was in the centre of town, no car park but large public car park in the Market Square, £5 if studying over 3 hours but machine didn't give...

Stayed here before a couple of years ago, so was looking foward to staying again. Good bits: new reception area installed. Service is excellent, really friendly. Rooms are quiet - good night's sleep (Room 21). Now got full size mirror in room. Warm (radiator AND room heater!). Not so good bits: Rooms a bit frayed now - light bulbs missing,...

Full marks for the staff at this busy hotel, trying to get it modernised as a boutique hotel (well, that's what I think). The rooms are small (we had no.12) but comfy and the bathroom was fine. Everything was clean but our furniture was a bit scruffy - but no big deal. We had a splendid view of the bay...
