Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. Room was good and bed was comfortable, however there is really no space if you want to do any kind of work and also no cupboard space to place clothes. Obviously the hotel is more geared up to serve people staying 1 night either before or after a flight. I went down on two occasions for breakfast and both times I was disappointed in the hot meal choice. Firstly to be classed as a hot meal it needs to be hot which is wasn’t and that was at 06.30 I would have at least expected the beans to be warm but they were very cold so I didn’t go again for breakfast. The other issue I did not like was the lack of privacy when eating there is a long large table in the. Middle of the room where anyone just sits to eat no real seperate tables for individuals. If you want to eat I would suggest reserving a table at dyce farm bar and restaurant which is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Excellent food and a lovely place.

Stayed here for two nights on business. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, the room was more than comfortable with some nice touches (under bed lighting) and the fitness room was pretty good considering the size. Enjoyed my time here.

I decided to meet a Norwegian colleague for a coffee prior to him getting his flight back home, it was a busy period with both of us running short on time, we decided on the Moxy due to its proximity to the airport and halfway point to my house from the office. i was running late, I entered the car park and reversed parked adjacent to the main entrance, I mention these details as at no point did I read that it was a requirement to register my car, even if only for a short visit to have a coffee in the reception coffee shop / bar area. Next I heard was a £100 penalty notice through the post. I responded by appealing as per instruction, providing evidence of my patronage at that time (receipt of purchase). The appeal was rejected and another letter issued stating if I didn’t pay it would go up to £170. I appealed again with further explanation, this was also rejected and the debt passed on to a debt collection agency. Since then I had several demands and I also appealed to them stating I was a legitimate customer and I could prove it, this was also rejected. Unfortunately I have had no choice but to pay the £170 fine as the next stage for the debt collection agency was a court judgment. I understand there is signage, ive since been back to check, unfortunately as you can see it is not clear that if entering to purchase a coffee and not staying you are still required to register at the reception. Perhaps my own fault but with rushing past the entry sign then reversing into the space I honestly did not see the instructions, I don’t believe if I had I would have done anything different in all honesty. Anyway lesson learned, parking racketeering strikes out at the Moxy with what seems like no grounds for appeal or empathy for an honest mistake. Moxy staff were also flippant about the situation, outwith their control apparently!! Won’t be back and have also instructed my office travel department to stay clear when booking rooms. Beware, if this post raises awareness for a few it’s been worth it.

Staff are very friendly but this is an expensive hotel for what you get. Double Bed - probably the most uncomfortable I've slept in. Lot's of motion transfer, might be ok if you're on your own. Bathroom - very small. The towels are on a low shelf under the sink next to the toilet. Let's hope that shelf is cleaned extremely well otherwise there will be contamination from the toilet given there is no space. Counter space- there really isn't any. One small shelf with the kettle. Usb chargers and sockets - only on 1 bedside table. I mean why?? The basic need nowadays is both people in a double room want to charge their phones nextto the bed. Breakfast- decent selection but the hot buffet is luke warm if you're lucky and at £13 a time (11 if you pay the night before) it should be spectacular. Common area perfumed - with so many sensory sensitivities I was shocked to smell the most horrible "air freshner??" Pumped into the lobby. It's unpleasant and overpowering- just no need for it. In the lifts as well. These are the main issues, everything else is fine. Soundproofing is great but the rooms so warm the window was open, so negagtes this. Would I stay again, if everything else was booked up.

Hi Livebetter, Thanks for taking the time to review your stay, glad to hear you found the staff friendly but sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the rest of the Moxy offerings. Unfortunately all the aspects from the smell, to the layout and design are what makes Moxy what it is, these are how Marriott designed the brand and you'll find the same signature scent in every Moxy you visit...although just so you know it's only pumped out at reception and not in the lifts or any other areas of the hotel. It sounds like the brand just maybe isn't for you, Marriott has over 30 other brands so we hope you can find what you're looking for when next on your travels, we even have another 3 Marriott brands in Aberdeen which might suit your needs better on your visit. Thanks again we always appreciate feedback. Colin

Fab weekend stay at Moxy. We were in Aberdeen for an event at the P&J on the Saturday night. Booked the Moxy for its great price but also its location. Great transport links into the city - we thought it might be better getting in and out of the city to sightsee rather than try to get back to the city after the P&J event. We paid £5 per night to park the car and we just left it there the whole weekend. There is a bus stop just along the road with frequent buses to and from the city. The buses take 35 mins to get to the bus station. The P&J arena was a pleasant stroll of around 20 mins. The hotel was lovely, very modern and clean. Our room was of adequate size. Bathroom on the small side but perfectly fine for us. Loved that there is conditioner in the shower as well as shampoo/shower gel! And a pink hairdryer too! Very in keeping. The bed has a motion sensor for led lighting around the bottom - perfect for getting up in the dark, just enough to see to the bathroom or whatever. Thinking about doing the same at home :) My only one suggestion would be maybe a QR code or similar in the room for information. We were advised on checkin we can order food and also take it to our room. This has to be ordered and paid for at the bar, which is absolutely fine. But I would have liked to have been able to look over the menu from the room. We had a great stay and would stay again if we’re back in the area. Would definitely recommend.

Great stay. Staff very welcoming. Room was spotlessly clean. Loved the lighting in the room and it was great to see decent shampoo/conditioner/shower gel in the bathroom! Only £5 to park your car overnight which is a fantastic price being so close to Aberdeen airport. Will 100% stay again.

We had a really smashing stay in Moxy Aberdeen to attend an event at the P&J Arena. It had a very different feel to other hotels, a bit funky. The wide selection of local beers kept me busy and was very welcome. It was such good value, I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was given the price for a room on a Saturday night. Quick and friendly check-in and out, no fuss. Will definitely stay with Moxy again, in Aberdeen or elsewhere.

Once you get your head around this is not a holiday hotel you're fine. Reception dining, etc. is all in the one place. Once checked in, you are offered a free cocktail. My room was basic but ok. The shower room was small but functional. Breakfast was nice ONLY SPOILT by a selfish woman who decided to smoke right outside the rotating entrance, which is right next to the dining area. Please, Moxy insist smokers do not smoke so close to the main entrance. P S. She had 2 cigarettes and left the ends at her behind.

Hi pete8564, Thanks for reviewing your stay, nice to hear you enjoyed your visit. Sorry to hear about the smoker. We do have signage displaying designated smoking areas and all our smoking bins are located around 20-30 feet away from the front door to encourage guests to smoke away from the building. As you'll appreciate we can's police this 24/7 as we're too busy looking after our guests but we do try our best. Thanks Colin
