good situation in town, local restaurants in the surrounding square, especially fresh grilled sardines. would seem a Moroccan travelers area, we didn't see any foreign travelers when we were there. The coach from Tangiers to Al Hoceima is about ten hours and there isn't a straight or level mile! we traveled on a overnight coach to Al Hoceima and it was extremely uncomfortable, almost an ordeal! we traveled back to Tangiers on a day coach and had a more comfortable time.
Centrally situated and pretty much what you would expect within this price range. Helpful service. Good enough for a one night stopover. Could have been cleaner. Bar underneath was handy for breakfast. (Not included in the price but it was pretty good).
The city may not have much to offer the winter traveler except for an excellent tanjine, the Hotel Florido has a nice safe stop on my way further into Morocco. The staff was great. They even helped me get a SIM card! The room clean and comfortable - if a bit cold. The internet was weak, but since I didn't complain I will not hold the hotel responsible. All together, a nice inexpensive stay.
Not entirely sure why anyone would come to Al-Hoceima, but if you do, this place is ok for sleeping. It was quite clean and the street is relatively quiet. The desk clerk didnt speak a word of french or english which made things a bit difficult, but he had a smile on his face most of the time.
We stayed here for about five days and found it very friendly . well located good price and with the staff willing to help . The room we stayed in was a little tired but was airy with two balconies ,. On the ground floor is an excellent large coffee and snack bar well worth a sit .
