My sister, mother and I stayed at Montegualandro Castle, in the Colombaia suite, and absolutely loved our stay. Franca was an absolute delight, giving us a history lesson on the castle and being extremely helpful in planning our day trips. My wife and I spent 6 nights here at the end of September, in 5 of which we were the only ones staying there. We just loved our time here and it was a great base for exploring Tuscany and Umbria. At the end of a day of touring we couldn't wait to get back and relax with a bottle...

This castle, built in the 700's gives you a real feeling of what life was like in medieval times. The castle is fully surrounded by stone walls. From just outside the castle gate you have a wonderful view of the lake below. The 4 rooms are within the castle walls and there are tables and chairs just outside to enjoy...
