Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gorgeous location, quite remote, the GPS went blank as we approached (it’s around an hour away from Pisa airport or 100euro in a taxi). We were staying there for a wedding and our party had generally booked the place out which was excellent for us. The staff were brilliant even though they had little English and we had less Italian. However our Italian bride’s friend did stay with us foreigners all week for any tricky translations which was a great idea.
The rooms were lovely but have no A/C and only some have fans. There is mozzy nets on the windows so it was ok to leave the window open all night and I know they had at least one travel cot available. The swimming pool was lovely as were the grounds. The food was nice but Tuscan breakfasts are not especially worth getting up for. Apparently food and drink is a little dearer here than in the village but it was certainly not exorbitant.
We had a few late night sessions and the staff would leave us to it no problem (in the covered outdoor eating area) and clear up in the morning.
The wedding reception was brilliant, antipasto served by the pool followed by many courses in the covered outdoor eating area and completed with espressos which was really impressive for decent coffee lovers and the chefs and wait staff even did the conga for us. The fantastic bar staff stayed on till 8am (although I think this was pre arranged) including even serving us in the pool.
Fyi if wifi & mobile phone reception matter to you it was very patchy.
Great place to get away from it all (or for a wedding). Book by email as they have limited English on the phone and they prefer email. Also if you are not in a big party check there is not one pre booked as Tuscan weddings are very popular with non Italians (read rowdy Paddies).
Also as well as the main hotel there are a few more accommodations available on the site including a private villa and poolWould recommend for couples, groups and families – there is even a kids play area and lots of ponies and chickens to look at and did I mention the scenery…

Have just returned from a 2 night short break with 4 other couples to celebrate the wedding of one couple. We had a brilliant time and the whole trip was idylic.
The flight from Bristol to Piza is very easy and picking up a rental car was easy.
Borgo di Colleoli was about 40 minutes away by car through beautiful poppy fields, and the directions we were given by reception were easy to follow.
Once you arrive ar reception you see the Main House through the gate along a tree lined gravel drive. Beautiful.
The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. There are no cars allowed on site so you unload your bags onto golf buggies and a man takes you and your luggage to your room and ever carries it upstairs if there are any.
The rooms are all different and ours was 1 bed but 2 bathrooms. It was quite plain but charming. The beds are very big with lovely fluffy duvets and plenty of pillows. The bathrooms were very well done. Just remember that H and C are reversed in Italy. All our rooms were different but all just as nice. I read a review which said the kitchen area was small and I would have to agree. Not really enough preparation space for anything more than cheese and crackers or a salad.
The first night we ate at I Tigli, the pizza restaurant just outside the gate which had superb pizzas and was very reasonably priced. 10 people, 3 courses and lots of Grand Beers for €220 euros which was excellent.
We spent a fabulous day by the main pool which had plenty of sun beds. The water was cold when you first got in but you soon got used to it. There is no pool bar so it's quite a walk to the bar. Again rounds of drinks were very reasonably priced.
Saturday night the gentleman on reception arranged to us to eat at agruturismo Colleoli. It's a walk of no more than 10 minutes along a very pretty country lane where there is very little traffic that you can hear coming so is very safe even with children. The restaurant was excellent but a little more expensive. Still good value for what we had though.
All together we were delighted with the whole experience, it was a perfect way to spend a short break in Tuscany.

I was at a wedding here recently with a group of friends. The venue for a wedding is absolutely beautiful however you have no phone signal and there is no ATM close by...it really is rural so be prepared. The rooms were lovely. I was in a room with my partner and another couple with a double bed and two single beds and there was plenty of space. The staff however could not understand a word I was saying, which is totally understandable with a language barrier, however at times they made me feel quite stupid and one of the bar staff actually just answered "no" when i asked for a drink I presume because he didn't know what I was saying. The wedding itself was fabulous and all in all I had a lovely time. Also the venue had been double booked and we were asked to leave early the next day after the wedding which caused a lot of confusion for guests.

Years ago when I first visited the region (about 10 years ago) this was called 'The Hunting Lodge' & that's exactly what it was. The food was 'cacciatore', so whatever they 'caught' was on the menu. Mainly wild boar, rabbit etc. Now it is an Agriturismo, but the food is essentially the same. The menu is extensive, with great steaks cooked in Porcini mushrooms or garlic and Rosemary, to large salads and fish dishes. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are very large (starter dishes for one are ample for 2 people sharing - if you're really hungry, the sharing platters are big too). Be aware they speak very little English, but by pointing you can muddle your way through. Locals fill the place up later at night (around 9pm onward), if you go earlier you feel as though you have the place to yourself. A tip would be to avoid weekends as they make their money then with large wedding parties who kind of take over the place and you get sidelined into a corner (though the staff are just as welcoming, your service may be slower). The host usually brings free liquors to your table when you have finished (very sweet but extremely potent Limoncello is a favorite of his). Large car park right outside if you're driving (though it gets packed when there's a wedding on), but an easy 10 minute walk down the road which is opposite I Tigli in Colleoli & a nice walk back in the pitch blackness lit only by a firework display of fireflies! I will be back and can highly recommend this restaurant for good, authentic Tuscan cooking.

Nice structure but lacking in comfort. There is a swimming pool but there are no sunbeds and deckchairs. If you do not stay you are not entitled to deckchairs. If you end up in a marriage, it's the end. The owner is really rude.

For our wedding on August 12, 2023, everything was outrageously beautiful. Lovely place and well looked after down to the smallest details, everyone helpful and kind. The son of the owner Matteo with whom we organized everything, a fantastic and helpful person, with whom he immediately makes you feel at home. Mom is great too. The food is impeccable and delicious, they even come here several times. For those of us who sleep there, clean and very nice rooms, good and assorted breakfast. The use of the swimming pool all day is not guaranteed for everyone, but for them it is. FANTASTIC. Thanks for everything
