Roberto and Clara are great hosts. Welcoming and full of fascinating information about the local area and Tuscany in general. They have a beautiful set of apartments which are commodious, pretty, superb views, clean and have good WiFi and all the conveniences. The pool which is a good size is kept scrupulously clean each day. Alica is quiet and unspoilt and near to so much of interest in Valdera. Vineyards and olive groves all around. The enchanting hooting Tawney Owls let you know they are busy in the surrounding woods at night!
We will definitely be back as soon as we possibly can!

We were a group of 4 families that visited roberto and Clara in June 2022. We really had a wonderful evening with Roberto guiding us through the local wines and Clara handling out small delicacies meanwhile. They created a really cosy atmosphere with their genuine warmth and good humour. Looking forward to return in the future!

A large group of us had a wonderful stay in the beautiful village of Alica. The apartments are very clean and comfortable, with AC, a well stocked kitchen and excellent views over the countryside. Roberto and Clara are very friendly, offering great conversation and amazing local wine. Highly recommend.

I was blessed being able to stay with my family over 6 days in this little place in Tuscan heaven. Roberto and Clara, who were clearly very passionate about their property, looked after us so well. This is exactly what I wanted Tuscany to be. Location perfect for touring around and evenings spent drinking Roberto’s sensational red wine. We toured in the morning and then swam in the pool in the afternoon and drank wine in the evening. So blessed to have had this opportunity.

This appartment has amazing location and potentially can be amazing place. But unfortunately it is not. The appartment advertised as having swimming pool. Yes, they do have swimming pool but it is opened limited hours 9-19:30. We thought we will be able to use it after we come back after day out, but we couldnt because of time limitation
Apartment was dirty. All furniture is old and not maintained properly. Shower door not closing. Towels were grey instead of white and also very old. We got 4 towels for 5 people and one of towels had brown spots, so we asked to replace dirty one and give us one more towel. Owner explained to us that we need to use one towel for 2 adults. In the end they sent people to clean the apartment and gave us more towels but it was done in the way as we required something unusual.
This appartment cost more than 1000 euro for a week and they asked to share towels. Really?

Before we booked appartment i checked if they have washing machine and they said yes, it is 10m distance from the appartment and shared by all guests. When we came and wanted to use it we found that we need to pay 5 euro for each run and also were allowed to use it in the morning. In the end Clara suggested to help and take out our washing from the machine when washing completed.

We all were very disappointed, because we feel that we were ripped off. This apartment should maybe cost 400 but definetly not over 1000. And the fact that owners believe that they can do what they want because you already paid and have no option but stay there - is really bad.

I am traveling every year and i never got so bad service and no value for money. We are serously thinking to request refund via agriturismo (that we used for booking) or directly from bank.

The gentlemen have booked from the agriturismo.it. They found from comparing the photos in the web side agriturismo. renovated kitchen, beds and some new furniture and one, one old piece of furniture that we will replace as soon as possible, however present in the photos. They knew perfectly well that there was no dishwasher and they did not even have to wait the washing machine, as not advertised on the farm site, also knew that there was no air conditioning. We showed the apartment of 90 square meters, located not on the third floor, but on the second floor, where there are the kitchen and the living room and a bathroom, while the sleeping area is on the upper floor where it is accessed by an internal staircase and where there are 2 double bedrooms and a second bathroom made with precious ceramics. We accommodated their wishes by placing an extra bed in one of the rooms, even though we had prepared the sofa bed in the living room. The fans that are in the rooms work very well and for almost all the people are sufficient to ensure sufficient comfort from the heat during the night. We inspected the whole apartment together before delivering it and they told us that was to their liking-. In addition to kitchen and bed linen, we have supplied a total of 10 medium towels, 5 small and 2 large towels. Additional service not notified in this web site. One of these towels showed a brown stain due to contact with the iron and we had not noticed. To their correct grievances we have changed the towel and we have also provided additional 4 large towels. The next day they complained that the socks of the girl who walked home without shoes got dirty. We have said that we would have the floor cleaned by the young lady who usually deals with the utmost care of this work. Among other things, she told us that she cleaned THE FLOORS USING HOT WATER TO GET A MORE ACCURATE CLEANING. However, we did and we left them a new mop and a new mop to prevent the next days to re-propose the problem, since in the apartment 4 people used shoes and only one if he took them off. We found them unused. We told them that it was not possible to use the washing machine during the night, as finding the place in the basement of the building, the buzz of the washing machine could have disturbed the other guests. We dealt with 3 washing machines for them, delivering their clothes, washed, dry and folded. We have asked them for this service a total of 15 euros. The Tuscan regional law requires that the accommodation establish a swimming pool regulation, on which the opening and closing hours of the pool must be indicated. This is to avoid use at night and to have time to do the daily maintenance of the pool. We are abliged to provide some measurements of the parameters of the water and be sure of its quality. Furthermore, it is necessary to clean the spaces occupied daily by people and to restore the water levels that in a swimming pool of this size requires about half hour every day.. We asked for payment of the apartment when the lords requested their passports back. At that point if the apartment had not gone well, we had not received anything. They could have left it and found another place. Roberto

We stayed for four nights in this beautiful house with a fantastic view.
The place is quiet allthough there is a bell tower near by.
The hosts were friendly and they made delicious dinner for us twice. The wines from their own wineyard were also very good.
We recommend this place!

We have stayed several times at Borgo di Alica. Roberto is a great host; a mine of local history and humour. Rooms are lovely, clean and pretty. Strong WiFi and an excellent pool. We also had the privilege of wine and olive oil tasting in their fascinating cantina. Roberto’s wine is delicious and Clara, his lovely wife, served up tasty nibbles while Maurizio(their son) topped up our glasses and chatted amiably. We are growing to really love Alica. Unspoilt and set in the Valdera.

Only spent 3 nights at Borgo Di Alica, but I wished I could have stayed longer. The beds were comfortable and the property was clean. The view from our apartment was fantastic .Everything in the property worked ok and there was even a dish washer .It is in a good Location ideal for visiting Florence, Pisa , Lucca and Volterra. A supermarket is situated in the village a 5 minute drive away. The owners were very friendly and Roberto makes some excellent wine. Unable to comment on the pool as it had just closed for the season but it was situated in a nice garden. If I am in the area again I would not hesitate to stay here.

Accommodation needs proper cleaners so facilities are better at arrival. Satellite TV needs a TV to work! No TV in room and told satellite channels not good. Shower room floor was grubby and cleaned up when I put a little effort in. Need car as no immediate facilities. Other guest all appeared equally unimpressed. Not one to visit in the future, owners are clearly looking to sell up and retire which was borne out in conversation with them.

Dear Mr. Paul Your wife can tell you that we had proposed bringing the TV right away to your apartment. She replied that she would had ask you, but she also said, to have not the television available, would been an occasion to have again a dialogue betwen you, after 40 yers of marriage. Many parents are asking us to remove the TVs to prevent their children from looking at it during the holidays. Other guests use other devices. (streamings) . We also told his wife that another fantastic TV was available in the lobby with Sky and Hd and Sat TV. For mosquitoes you had mosquito nets on the 5 windows. The apartment you had carefully watched before accepting it was already equipped with bed linen and towels. We wish you the best holidays in other contexts.

We had a great stay at Borgo di Alica during 5 nights. The owners are very nice, we really felt like home. The beds were very comfortable and the surroundings quiet and warm.

Unfortunately, we travelled in mid October -the weather was not so great and it was too cold to use the pool.

We loved Roberto's wine - we actually bought some for home - we would have bought more, but there is a limit in the luggage weight when you fly with low cost companies... Also we are very sorry the olive oil production of Borgo di Alica was not ready yet for 2015 - if the olive oil matches the wine, then it's probably amazing.

We recommend trying the wine from Borgo di Alica, it's probably better than anything else you'll find in shops and comes with a fair price. We appreciated especially the ciliegiolo/merlot 2011. Also, ask Roberto for a visit at the wine cellars, it's a very interesting experience.

We also tried the Rose - Roberto told us it's good, but no match for the red one. We found it extremely good!

Obviously we had a great time and would comeback at anytime!
