Lovely rooms. Quiet. Comfortable. Great breakfast. Very tranquil atmosphere. Plenty of parking spaces. Friendly and helpful staff. Love the door hanger in the room! All in all, what's not to like! Would certainly recommend to anyone who enjoys some peace and quiet.

This is the second time I've stayed here for 4 or 5 days, and it won't be the last. I come for the peace and quiet of the library, to write, to think, to sleep well, and eat even better! This is a library where only silence will do, where the books and library architecture take you to a different...

I stayed at the Library for 3 nights in January 2017 having visited once for the day. I just knew that I had to come back when I was seeking somewhere inspirational to start writing a book. The library is just stunning but the whole place is excellent: the rooms are very comfortable and the food excellent all located in...

I had the good fortune to spend a month at Gladstone's Library. Situated in a charming Welsh village, the Library is much more than a place to read! It feels like being at Downton Abbey--the comfortable rooms, fantastic food, great walks and amazing service are daily gifts. There is morning prayer in the chapel and continuous small conferences on writing,...

Building is lovely, staff are friendly, good location and exactly how described on their website. If you are looking for a quiet getaway this place is perfect. We got a great deal on the room so it wasn't very expensive considering what we were getting.

There is convenient bus service into Chester. The food was good and very good value if a little limited in terms of time and selection. The building...

I stayed here after our Law School Christmas Lunch. The lunch was beautifully cooked and the service was exceptional. The homemade mince pies were the best I've had. I also stayed for dinner. Again great home cooked locally sourced food. I spent the night in a single room on the top floor with amazing views. It felt just like my...

I found out about Gladstone's based on a recommendation from a friend and I came away very impressed. On first arrival I found myself immediately caught up in the atmosphere of what is an impressive and inspiring building. The building is listed, and the grounds are very impressive - it is worth a stroll round to have a look at...
