We stayed here for three nights, John was very helpful and attentive.
The whole b&b was spotlessly clean and breakfast was well catered for, we opted for porridge which was not on the menu but John made this possible for us, lovely bowl of porridge John!
I only have one little negative, the slight noise at night from the traffic but this is not nothing to do with John and he’s b&b so that does not affect my reviews stars!
Overall our stay was 10/10 defiantly recommend.

Everything was excellent. I and my friend we spent only one night at this amazing b&b and was fully served. Close to Hope station the property offers parking free, slices of homemade cake for our welcoming and a very good breakfast in the morning! Our room the number 5 was supposed to be the small one which actually it was but very clean and tidy up. The bathroom was part of the room and was very big! The manager was very friendly and helpful.

All COVID-19 rules were respected and all the products waere there like gel sanitizer and all the precautions a part from the mask that wasn’t constantly weared by the manager.

Only suggestions is: to take pics of bathroom number 5 that are missing at the moment but are quite important for the value of the room.

We had an excellent stay at John's B&B. He is a wonderful host and helped us immensely by letting us know the local attractions, must do hikes and bike routes, restaurants. Location of the B&B is perfect as it's in the heart of Hope Valley, and can be navigated through public transport as well. We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful room to ourselves with nice views to the front and back. Room was very clean and had all necessary things required. Best part of the stay was the breakfast which is prepared at home and had such a variety from English breakfast to Continental. Also the home baked cakes every evening were so delicious and ensured a perfect end to the day. Loved the setting around the guest room, where there are board games and DVD's of popular movies for entertainment and books/maps of Peak District area. Really appreciate John's hospitality and would surely visit again in future.

Stayed for three nights to celebrate Wedding Anniversary. John, the owner, couldn't have been more hospitable - very friendly and knowledgeable. The Full English breakfast was possibly the best I have had at a B&B, cooked to perfection and plentiful. There are multiple breakfasr options but both of us went for the cooked breakfast each day. The room was a nice size, very clean and well kept. Bathroom the same, spotless and the power shower very good. The whole stay was faultless and we were made to feel very comfortable and I would happily and confidently recommend this B&B for all of the above reasons as well as location. Less than give minutes to drive into Hope and a couple more to Castleton.
Also, during our stay we were invited to try homemade banana bread, which was delicious and a nice treat.

We had a wonderful time at Thorndene B&B, it's perfectly located especially if you are visiting the Peak District by walk.
The bus station is literally 2 minutes away, and you can reach the train station in 10 minutes.
The room 1 was extremeley clean and comfortable with a lot of space!
John is a great host and will definitely share with you some great outdoor spot to visit (we spent one day on Win Hill and was incredibly amazing).
The comunal area is lovely and accessible all the time for tea, coffe, telly or reading.
The breakfast is delicius and you have several option to choose, I personally enjoyed al lot the homemade marmelade and the orange jam.

We (family of 4 with kids aged 8 and 13 and grandparents in 70s) stayed there for 4 nights. Thorndene B&B is located in the heart of the Peak District and Hope Valley is beautiful itself. We managed to visit and walk in different places within 15-30 minutes' drive. Although it is very central and well connected by roads and railway, it is a very quiet and calm place to stay.

Everything was perfect from the start to end. We were full of energy for the long walks after the great breakfast every morning and recharged with cakes and drinks every evening. The lounge was comfortable for the family to hang out and the bedrooms were also spacious for having some quiet time.

John is very knowledgeable and loves the Peak District himself. Thanks to John, we saw and did a lot during our stay despite we did not prepare much before the trip. He also made sure everything was clean and safe for our stay. We felt very assured for the first holiday since the pandemic.

We feel so refreshed and have a proper break after 1.5 year! Because of such great experience and central location, we will definitely be back to Peak District again and stay at Thorndene in the future!

Good location - easy access from public transport. There is bus stop pretty much just around the corner from the B&B, and is around 10 mins walk from Hope train station. If you drive there is park space in the yard and it's located in the main road so shouldn't be a problem to find.
John, the host, made us feel welcome upon arrival, providing us plenty of travel information & tips in the area. They got a good selection of breakfast menu you can choose from, and they also made the best carrot cakes!
Room is spacious and very comfortable, the ensuite bathroom is also a good size and very clean. The shower is great, which is very enjoyable after an active day in Peak district.
We had a quality time here, definitely recommended!

A great welcome on arrival. Tea coffee and hone-made cake. The bed room was very clean and comfy with a good firm
mattress. Good size en-suite bathroom with a powerful shower.
Substantial breakfast with good veggie option.
We were walking the Pennine Way and provided with a very reasonably priced packed lunch with plenty to keep us going all day.
