I live locally so know all the cafes in the area. If you fancy something a bit classier than a greasy spoon this is the place. Best eggs Benedict ever!! 5 visits in and getting better. Very attentive staff and free coffee refills!! Very rare in the uk!!!

Lovely country pub and hotel in ideal position for walks in the Derbyshire hills. We pretty much sampled all the facilities, coffee shop, bar restaurant and B&B and could not fault a single thing, lovely roaring log fires cosy friendly atmosphere and staff so helpful. The bedroom were very clean and comfortable and furnished in a suitable style for this...

This quirky old hotel is a great way to enjoy a visit to Castleton in Derbyshire. We only stayed for one night but wished it could have been for longer. Our room was very comfortable and the four poster was a lovely surprise. The food served here is the best of home-cooked English fayre - definately recommend the pies, the...

We had our works party at The Old Hall, we have been several times before and decided to try a Manchester hotel last year. We didn't enjoy it as much and came back to The Old Hall. Its not a massive room so you don't feel crowded, the food is very good and then a cheesey disco to take you...

Since our last visit in 2016, the standard is much lower. The prices have gone up, and the quality of the food dropped. I had a chicken sandwich which was horrible. A pitiful amount of chicken, far too much mayo and butter which made the bread soggy. I couldn't find any staff to change it and no one asked during...

We stayed for one night as it was my 40th (cough cough) birthday. Really lovely room, the bed was very very comfy. We loved the old feel of the accommodation, still had the old beams in the room, creaky floors ect. We had breakfast included and opted for the Derbyshire breakfast... was scrummy, absolutely delicious. The staff in the tea...

We had a lovely lunch at this appealing pub in Hope. This is a genuine pub, perfectly fitted out - not all modernised and "upgraded" but attractively decorated, clean and welcoming. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food fresh and tasty. We visited in December, when the pub was all decorated for Christmas including several large Christmas trees....

Took my family of 4 and my brothers family to the Old Hall Hotel. We've been before and actually the food has been very good in the past What let them down this time was customer service. We were slightly late to arrive due to my mother with dementia needing a few things sorting before we were able to go...

only called for a cuppa but the staff were lovely and friendly. We were given free mince pies with our drinks and we complimented them on the beautifully decorated Christmas tree inside the restaurant. The waitress told us they were very proud of the other decorations in the bar and hotel and when we had finished our leisurely drink she...

This homely hotel restaurant and tearoom is welcoming and warm with a lovely open fire burning in the hearth creating great warmth and atmosphere, the overall atmosphere was lively and homely, great to see both muddy boots and dogs being welcomed. The star of the show though was the food very good food, hot, fresh and quality. Excellent overall experience.
