A super, well appointed and most comfortable cottage with lovely hosts. We stayed at Dove cottage in 2019 and enjoyed both the cottage and location so much that we did not hesitate to come here again on our first trip back to the UK after the wretched Covid-19 lock downs. We like its location as it is easy driving distances to range out each day to the local attractions. Highlights this trip include the Critch National Tramway Museum, The Staffordshire Hoard at the Stoke-on-Trent Museum, doing over Antique & Collectibles and Opp. shops at Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock, Sheffield and especially Heanor. For first time visitors do not forget Haddon Hall and Chatsworth. We are not into walking or cycling but there seemed to be excellent scope for this on the nearby Monsal trail.

The cottage is a perfect size for a couple of for three and the interior is finished to a really high standard. Owners were very helpful and accessible and made sure that everything was in order. Exterior areas are also maintained to a very high standard. Location is superb for visit Bakewell, Matlock and the Monsanto Trail. We have visited before and will visit again. Highly recommended.

Wye cottage at Churchdale Holidays is a fantastic place for a couple to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings. The cottage is extremely well equipped to a very high standard. It is obvious how much work Sarah, John and their team put into keeping the cottage and surroundings in great condition. The location couldn’t be more perfect with the Monsal Trail only a couple of minutes walk away, from which you can walk or cycle to Bakewell and also link to many other walks and villages - and the amazing Chatsworth Estate is only a short drive away. We have stayed here several times over the last 20 years and still hope to return next year. We love this area and wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else. Many thanks Sarah for another brilliant stay.

We’ve just got back from a lovely three night break at Churchdale Farm holiday cottages. We stopped in Dove Cottage. The cottage was spotless, well equipped and very comfortable and set in very quiet location. It’s situated within walking distance of the Monsal Trail and well placed for local walks and within driving distance of many of the other Peak villages. Sarah was very welcoming and I would recommend her cottages to anyone who is looking for a quiet, clean place to stop. Thank you Sarah, hopefully one day we’ll be back.

We have recently returned from a great holiday in Derbyshire, staying at Dove Cottage, one of three at Churchdale Farm, Ashdon in the Water. We chose Dove Cottage, which had 2-bedrooms, and was fully equipped to a very high standard; everything was spotless and very comfortable. The location was very quiet, yet only about 5 mins drive from Ashdon in the Water and about 10 mins from Bakewell – interesting town, with good selection of shops, places to eat, etc Stately Homes are nearby (Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Thornbridge Hall and Gardens), and there are plenty of interesting local walks. Churchdale Farm Cottages are great for this type of self-catering holiday; we were made to feel very welcome, and they thoroughly deserve their 5 star gold rating

Thank you Nick, glad you enjoyed your visit. Reader, in case you are puzzled, our village is called Ashford-in-the-Water. (not Ashdon!)

We have just returned from our first stay in Dove Cottage on Churchdale Farm. The delightful cottage is spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and the kitchen is well equipped with high end appliances. Sarah has thought of everything. Churchdale Farm is situated in a lovely area of the Peak District and makes an ideal base from which to explore the many local attractions. Highly recommended and we hope to visit again when in the area.

We have just returned from our third excellent stay at Churchdale Farm, this time in Derwent Cottage. It was lovely to go back after all our long restrictions and we felt clean and safe, the Covid guidelines were respected and followed without impinging on our comfort. The owner, Sarah, is thoughtful and efficient, leaving guests to have the privacy and the space for a great week’s holiday. The Bakewell Pudding is a delicious warm treat. We like the accommodation in the old stone building conversions, the kitchen has all we could possibly need, the beds are really comfortable, the wi-fi works well. We ate outdoors most evenings surrounded by birdsong. Churchdale Farm is situated in a quiet, pretty location with excellent access to many walks from the door via the Monsal Trail or across to Ashford-in-the-Water and on to Bakewell and beyond. The helpful local stores in Ashford sells delicious pastries for a packed lunch. It is just a short drive by car to the start of numerous other walks. The area is rich in a variety of topography and nature, including great bird spotting in mixed woodland and farmland. In June we particularly loved to see the hay meadows full of wildflowers. There are also many reminders of the area’s past history during the Industrial Revolution. Not far away is the slightly starker landscape of the Dark Peaks with its ancient boulder strewn uplands with more challenging walks and climbing opportunities. It was good to hear the curlew over the moorland. Chatsworth including its nearby farm shop and café, Haddon Hall and Thornbridge Hall are all close by. We intend to return again as we have found our ideal spot in the Peak District.

We’ve just returned from a great weeks stay in Derwent Cottage on Churchdale Farm. Having had 2 holidays cancelled this year due to Covid we were so pleased to get away for a weeks holiday in the Peak District. This is a five star property and given the current situation we were really pleased that the cottage was spotlessly clean and arrival and departure procedures really clear and well planned by the owners. It gave great piece of mind. The cottage is furnished to a high standard. We should say that whilst the owners are on-site and met us on arrival and departure day, otherwise you are left to your own devices. Although it is clear they are available if required. The location of this development is superb. Great walking, cycling, villages, Chatsworth and pubs all close at hand. To be honest we went home for a rest! Thank you so much for having us. If we return to the Peaks we will definitely consider staying here again.

My husband and I recently stayed in Wye Cottage on Churchdale Farm. The cottage is beautiful, spacious yet cosy. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with high end appliances and the bathroom fittings are luxurious. The cottage is tastefully decorated with quality fixtures and fittings throughout. Everything is supplied for you, right down to tea, coffee, milk and even some delicious Bakewell Puddings! The owner came to greet us upon our arrival and gave us some excellent tips for places to visit and some lovely restaurants to try. Needless to say, we took full advantage. We were blessed with great weather, despite the forecast and although the elements cannot be guaranteed, I would highly recommend Churchdale Holidays come rain or shine for a wonderful couples retreat in idyllic surroundings.
