We’ve just returned from a great weeks stay in Derwent Cottage on Churchdale Farm. Having had 2 holidays cancelled this year due to Covid we were so pleased to get away for a weeks holiday in the Peak District. This is a five star property and given the current situation we were really pleased that the cottage was spotlessly clean and arrival and departure procedures really clear and well planned by the owners. It gave great piece of mind. The cottage is furnished to a high standard. We should say that whilst the owners are on-site and met us on arrival and departure day, otherwise you are left to your own devices. Although it is clear they are available if required. The location of this development is superb. Great walking, cycling, villages, Chatsworth and pubs all close at hand. To be honest we went home for a rest! Thank you so much for having us. If we return to the Peaks we will definitely consider staying here again.

My husband and I recently stayed in Wye Cottage on Churchdale Farm. The cottage is beautiful, spacious yet cosy. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with high end appliances and the bathroom fittings are luxurious. The cottage is tastefully decorated with quality fixtures and fittings throughout. Everything is supplied for you, right down to tea, coffee, milk and even some delicious Bakewell Puddings! The owner came to greet us upon our arrival and gave us some excellent tips for places to visit and some lovely restaurants to try. Needless to say, we took full advantage. We were blessed with great weather, despite the forecast and although the elements cannot be guaranteed, I would highly recommend Churchdale Holidays come rain or shine for a wonderful couples retreat in idyllic surroundings.

Stayed at the Dove Cottage for 2 nights Dec 19. Hosts were welcoming and helpful. The cottage had a beautiful stove fire. The cottage was well equipt with everything we need. A gingerbread man and bakewell tart were their on our arrival which was a lovely treat and very thoughtful. Both beds were extremely comfy and it was a very peaceful nights sleep. Convenient location 10minutes from Chatsworth and surrounded by lovely restaurants and walking trails. We would 100% recommend this place!

We love Churchdale Farm. Wye Cottage is a perfect place for a couple wanting a relaxing time in the Bakewell area. It is really well presented and full of character, spotlessly clean and contains pretty well everything you might need. All the furnishings and appliances are of a very high standard. The bathroom particularly is amazing. The cottages are in a fantastic location. At the bottom of the lane cross the road, walk up the path onto the bridge and you are on the Monsal trail. From here you can walk or cycle anywhere from Bakewell almost to Buxton, with many other paths running off the trail as well, so you don’t need to use the car if you don’t want to. Sarah is a brilliant host. You will receive a very warm welcome and she is very approachable if you need any advice or help. We have been here 5 or 6 times now and have just booked another week next July. We have stayed in many holiday rentals all over the country and this one is definitely the favourite. Quite simply it has everything.

We spent a long weekend in Dove Cottage. The Bakewell pudding that was waiting for us when we arrived was delicious! The cottage was really pretty and had everything we needed. The host greeted us when we arrived and gave us lots of helpful suggestions about where to visit in the area. Churchdale was a really good base to explore the area. We really enjoyed our weekend, especially seeing the new born lambs in the fields next to the cottage.
