Stromstad Spa & Resort is a modern spa resort situated in the midst of the stunning Bohuslan archipelago, on the west coast of Sweden. Stromstad Spa & Resort is the place to be for guests who love golf, sailing, sea, bold architecture, swedish seafood, exotic nature and tranquilizing spa experiences. The spa itself covers 2000 square metres on two floors. The rooms are ok size and clean. The spa is totally good but a bit disappointing that there are only one jacuzzi tub ( 6 people size ) and no swimming pool etc. outside. When you visit several saunas and hot tubs you like to breath in some fresh air.

We had lunch and dinner and therefore different serving staff. Both were not able to give their recommodations on wine to the courses. In such a rather expensive restaurant I think you can expect that all staff are able to give at least one wine recommodation to every course.

At dinner they brought us the main dish before the starter because the waiter forgot to register the starters in their system. We had to tell them and the complaint was immediately accepted.

Strömstad Spa & Resort is a nice NHR hotel. It is located in north part of Strömstad and can really be seen as a resort hotel with lots of activities close, you can play golf and go for very nice nature hiking or running or just do ypga and welcoming the sun and the sea 🥰. If you want dining there are many options in Strömstad and also at the hotel food is great. To get into Strömstad city you take a small ferry and you have to buy an access card in the reception. Staff is very nice at the hotel and I was upgraded to a balcony suite with great view (it was exactly the same suite I had 2 years ago 👻, 3503). I can just say that I loved this stay and breakfast was a level above expectations with fresh made omelette and waffles. SPA and Sauna is great but it is not included in room fee (you pay additional 295 sek - 2:1 with platinum), SPA (pool and sauna) should be included in expensive room prices 🥲

This review is based on six different stays at Strömstad Spa the last few years. They have all been business related, sometimes in small groups, sometimes as part of a lager crowd of around hundred people.

As a conference venue, this is a great spot. Situated a bit away from the town centre, it is easier to generate group dynamics. A lot of facilities, the spa being the star, it is easy to make different persons in the group happy. The staff is very service-minded towards conference organisers, and the conference facilities are good.

The food is an important part of being at a conference or a getaway with colleagues, and although it is not amazing, it has been consistently good every time I have been here. A lot of fresh vegetables, many vegan options but also some treats for meet-eaters like me.

The spa is also an important part of the experience. The venue is great, with a lot of different saunas, pools and zones. I have also tried the spa treatments on several occasions, asking for a sports massage after a long run. The therapists vary a bit, some of them have been very professional, with a clear understanding of how running affects the body. But not all of them. The gym is spacious with a lot of different options and many treadmills.

The hotel rooms are quite spacious, bright and clean. The beds are great, WiFi is consistently good and the showers are nice.

The consistency of the place gives me no second thoughts when it comes to recommend the place. You know that they will deliver a good experience and that they are capable of handling large crowds. To achieve 5/5 however, the place has to blow me away to a much greater degree than Strömstad Spa does.

Was on a short stay with a visit to the spa and food included in the stay, and is very satisfied!
Will be happy to come back if a new offer should appear.
The staff sorted out all the questions and wishes we had, so we felt very well taken care of!

Have been to this hotel 2 times before and had a great experience. Now on the 3rd visit it seems that Strawberry group has taken over and suddenly imposed different rules. Spa has previously been free for Hotel guests. Suddenly now they want to charge 30 € per entry per person. This is a hotel outside of everything. So does not make any sense. Prices also have doubled since before covid. And if you add to the extra cost of Spa Prices have actually gone almost 4x which does not make any sense. Children are only allowed between 9-11 in the morning. So if a family with 2 adults and a child wants to Visit the Spa. Well the evening Adult spa visit costs 60€ extra and then the New trip in the morning with child would cost an additional 90€ so a total of 150€ to visit the spa. And its just a small pool, a jacuzzi and a few saunas etc. Nothing special. Interesting is that nowhere on the website when ordering, in the order confirmation or other place does it say that Spa has an additional charge And when ordering spa time it says price but specifies that that price is for non hotel guests so one would assume then based on this that it is free for Hotel guests but no. Strawberry group is all about squeezing their customers with overpriced everything. So will never set my foot here again and hope this serves as a warning to other customers to stay away. Other details from the stay. Double bed is not a double bed its 2 single put together, Even though it is represented as double in the photo, Rooms very noisy you can hear someone walking by on the carpet outside room and there is a lot of people walking all the time, door between rooms is a single non sound proof door so you can hear everyone else and every word they talk about. Toilet seat was loose and wall mounted toilet so high you cannot reach the ground with your feet and I am 175cm Tall. Shower only movable partial glass so entire bathroom got soaking wet when showering not pleasant for the other person in the room. No soap bar only wall mounted big bottles of shampoo and soap with dispenser. Reminds me of a hospital or the cheapest hotels around not something that is marketed as your best getaway. Also there is a big public parking lot 50 meters before hotel which is free on sunday and after 15:00 on Saturday so if you are checking in on Saturday no need to pay 20€ for hotel parking in a overpriced parking garage. (this is in the middle of nowhere.

Everything was great from booking to leaving with a mini conference with 8 participants. Great SPA incl treatments. The wireless network was speedy, but unstable within conference room, hence cumbersome to use for remote office access. It was however grate for general access everywhere. We will be back!

Worst experience After ownership change, I have been here multiple times over the last few years and it has always been a pleasent experience until today apparently Strawberry Group took over this since last time I was here. Suddenly prices doubled ok fine prices have increased a bit lately but when you find out you have to pay 30 € for pool/ Spa access per person when you stay at the hotel for each entry to the pool well thats the worst Ripoff ever. Its just a small indoor pool. Staff not friendly and entire experience a disasterI spend some years over 200 + nights in hotels around the world. Experience at This hotel is the worst so far, Beware of Ripoff parking garage when there is free parking just 100 meters away during weekends, Ruined my weekend since I was planning evening and Morning visit to the Spa. I am banning Strawberry Group from all my future hotel bookings and will enforce a total ban for all employees of our group of companies to any hotel or group linked to Strawberry Group. Thats a loss of like 5000+ hotel nights per year.

Just a really big disappointment.
Ice cold room, radiators turned off or to absolutely lowest.
The room/deluxe/apartment was dirty, stained sheets. Lots of dust on surfaces, worn. Broken tiles in the bathroom, stains on the toilet. Dirty floor.
Light bulb flickering. Broken terrace door.
In short. Not satisfactory (and I'm not picky)
We tried calling reception for 30 minutes regarding the ice cold rooms but no answer on the phone. Had to get dressed and walk down to reception. She said she was alone and unable to answer the phone due to staff being ill.
The pool area was nice, but the men's changing rooms/shower area in the spa was a disaster area.. towels, bathrobes and flippers everywhere. It should have been staffed, terrible condition. It didn't feel sanitary/clean.
The staff at the bar was a little unfriendly and mostly busy talking to each other.
The breakfast buffet was nice except for the gut making the omelette, he was obviously sick with a cold and should have stayed home.
I'll attach some pictures of the things mentioned in the room. I don't usually take pictures of bad stuff, just good. However, this was a terrible experience and the cold room was the worst. They gave us a tiny electric fan made for a small room, but it didn't help much and we had to listen to it all night.

I would go to the SPA to be able to relax and just take it easy, get away from home a bit after the stress after Christmas and New Year. Well, I got it. I paid over 5000 to bathe in the local bath house and live in a student corridor it feels like. There were so many people in the pool area that you could barely fit in anything other than the pool, which was actually very cold. And if you found a place in the hot tub, for example, you couldn't leave it, because it disappeared faster than you could blink. "Silence spa" people didn't seem to be able to read the door, because there was shouting and talking both loudly and all the time.

After a buffet that was okay, but nothing to rave about. If you're a vegan, there wasn't much to eat, I registered. When we got up to the room, the bed was super nice, but with a stain on the duvet from something that had been on it, it looked like, the TV super small and with two white spots in the middle on. Someone also had a party in their room so there was loud music until 02-03 and then I still told the guards at the reception, it was quiet for a while before it started again. The neighboring room had a balcony, and I went out on it to smoke and suddenly slammed the door behind me so it rattled in the room..

The breakfast was superb! Very happy with it!

Steer away. After previous visits here I was looking forward to returning now. The last visit was in 2018 and we were delighted then. I expect when you book into a spa hotel that you can enter the spa department at no extra cost, but you don't. We booked access for 2 days and paid a good deal for it and then the maximum time is 2 hours.
Dinner was a disaster. Ordered mussels which were most likely reheated, they were so chewy and dry they were inedible. Sent it back and got a new portion which was just as bad. But still, we had to pay full price even though we hardly touched the food. We were offered entry to the spa, but we had already paid for it in advance. This is bad service.
The rooms are worn. Smells of mold in the bathroom and many cracked/broken tiles.
If you choose to take a shower, you must expect the whole room to be soaking wet as there is no shower cubicle that stays up.

The service needs to be worked on and the food needs to be improved to the price level you are at.
