You are only a few minutes away from the Norwegian/Swedish border and a good hour´s drive from Oslo in Norway and Gothenburg in Sweden. Stromstad Spa & Resort is the place to be for guests who love golf, sailing, sea, bold architecture, swedish seafood, exotic nature and tranquilizing spa experiences. The spa itself covers 2000 square metres on two floors. It is the only Decleor Flagship Spa in northern Europe and offers most spa treatments and products. 116 of our 232 rooms are suites with balconies. Most of them overlook the sea and the canals at the idyllic Notholmen. Was on a short stay with a visit to the spa and food included in the stay, and is very satisfied! Will be happy to come back if a new offer should appear. The staff sorted out all the questions and wishes we had, so we felt very well taken care of!

Very average hotel that needs a good cleaning and updating. We were excited for this hotel. When we went to our room the door was open with nobody in it. Strange but no big deal. We had a large corner balcony room. There is no. Air conditioning in the room. This has caused mold to grow in the room. There was a dishwasher with a rubber mat under it covered in mold. I had to take allergy medicine after being in The room The floor has gotten wet in certain areas so it had swelled and was sticking up. The balcony had used socks on it from the last guest. The room was quite noisy at night. People were drunk and loud in a other room. Other guests were banging on the wall to try to shut them . Up at 2am. There is no phone in the room to call the front desk. The bedroom was small and cramped. The breakfast in the morning seemed processed and not fresh. We tried the food but ended up going somewhere else. There was a lot of variety just not quality The spa was the bright spot of the place. We had a private session and they were all very attentive and it seemed very clean. The hotel is off the beaten path but they still charge to park. For the price the quality was just not there. Just a really big disappointment. Ice cold room, radiators turned off or to absolutely lowest. The room/deluxe/apartment was dirty, stained sheets. Lots of dust on surfaces, worn. Broken tiles in the bathroom, stains on the toilet. Dirty floor. Light bulb flickering. Broken terrace door. In short. Not satisfactory (and I'm not picky) We tried calling reception for 30 minutes regarding the ice cold rooms but no answer on the phone. Had to get dressed and walk down to reception. She said she was alone and unable to answer the phone due to staff being ill. The pool area was nice, but the men's changing rooms/shower area in the spa was a disaster area.. towels, bathrobes and flippers everywhere. It should have been staffed, terrible condition. It didn't feel sanitary/clean. The staff at the bar was a little unfriendly and mostly busy talking to each other. The breakfast buffet was nice except for the gut making the omelette, he was obviously sick with a cold and should have stayed home. I'll attach some pictures of the things mentioned in the room. I don't usually take pictures of bad stuff, just good. However, this was a terrible experience and the cold room was the worst. They gave us a tiny electric fan made for a small room, but it didn't help much and we had to listen to it all night. …

Good crockery and nice place. Helpful service. Clean and neat rooms. Good bed. Lovely spa facility. Good food and an enormously great breakfast buffet with great variety and selection. Nice package solutions that give everyone the opportunity for a nice and affordable stay. A bit small roast lamb for dinner, which I missed that we were given a choice as to whether we liked it, or wanted better roast. But all in all, I would highly recommend a stay here.

In principle this should be one of the very best hotels on the west coast of Sweden, with fantastic rooms (usually with separate bedroom; and get one with balcony) and a wonderful decor. Breakfast is also great. On our previous trips we enjoyed great food, and even spent a lovely New Year here once. The big problem now is the quality of the food served at dinner! The fish dish I ordered provided the driest catfish I have ever been served with. I would have said something to the waiter, but we didn't see him until he asked us to pay, and then he just dropped off the payment device and ran off to another table. Also, we say that some poor woman sent the fish dish back, and then had to wait for ages (30 min?) before the alternative dish showed up. Not acceptable.

Altough a very nice location is the hotel restaurant a disappointment. Long waiting times for a la carte orders (60min), poor pizza quality and a lot of reused buffet food on the following day. Highlight is the Friday night buffet, biggest disappointment is the Saturday night buffet consisting mainly of Friday night leftovers.

Strömstad Spa & Resort is a nice NHR hotel. It is located in north part of Strömstad and can really be seen as a resort hotel with lots of activities close, you can play golf and go for very nice nature hiking or running or just do ypga and welcoming the sun and the sea 🥰. If you want dining there are many options in Strömstad and also at the hotel food is great. To get into Strömstad city you take a small ferry and you have to buy an access card in the reception. Staff is very nice at the hotel and I was upgraded to a balcony suite with great view (it was exactly the same suite I had 2 years ago 👻, 3503). I can just say that I loved this stay and breakfast was a level above expectations with fresh made omelette and waffles. SPA and Sauna is great but it is not included in room fee (you pay additional 295 sek - 2:1 with platinum), SPA (pool and sauna) should be included in expensive room prices 🥲…

Anniversary booking up to expectations. It started great with nice weather and a beautiful hotel lobby. However a lot stopped already then. I had called a couple of days in advanced to make sure they understood this was a anniversary stay with me and my wife. I asked for a romantic table during dinner and a bucket of ice for the room when we arrived. Also asked for early check inn. The only thing they managed was a early check-inn. But that was only luck. During lunch, the waiters did hardly understand English. We got our first drinks but when we got the food we still did not get what we ordered to drink with it. The drinks we ordered for the food came when we had finished the food. During dinner it became even worse. We ordered drinks, but we got food before we even had gotten any thing to drink. Our waiter did not understand Norwegian or English and did not know what do recommend for drinks to our 3-meal course. I was not very impressed of the food either.
