Camping Sole De Sari, Solenzara Corsica - Review Really nice small and friendly holiday park on the edge of the mountains but only 5 mins from the nearest town and beach. Reception staff really helpful and English spoken. Accommodation good and has bar/restaurant and small swimming pool area - however the dammed up river (large pool) just behind the park (for sole use of the guests) more than makes up for this. Shame there was no shop for basic provisions, but you could order fresh bread for each day from the restaurant the night before. Local town has a good Spar Shop and for more variety there are the larger Casino and E-Leclerc Supermarkets in Ghisonaccia about 25 mins away. Lovely beaches going either North or south can be found within 20/25 mins. Local town - Solenzara - has street market on Weds and Saturdays early evening till late. The Restaurants spread out onto the street (which is pedestrianised in the evening) so great atmosphere. Usually live music played which adds to the ambience.

Fabulous location of chalets on a wooded hillside by a clear river. The river has swimming pools and a sandy riverbed. The Mediterranean Sea is about a mile away where sandy beaches are a plenty. High Rocky Mountains surround the area, producing canyons for gorge scrambling, canyoning and mountaineering etc. A paradise for walkers, cyclists and casual drivers.

We had never tried a holiday like this before as we usually get a hotel. This was an amazing caravan site - I use the term "caravan" loosely as all accommodations were really lodges and outstanding ones at that! Our lodge had plenty of space, all the mod cons, a BBQ area and a big balcony / terrace with some amazing views. The whole site is set in beautiful woods and the lodges are wooden to complement the natural scenery. The whole site is very peaceful at all times of the day. There are 4 small pools in the complex with ample umbrellas and loungers around. The pool never really gets busy until about 4 p.m. and was great for a chill out day / hour / morning / afternoon. The pools are set in wooden decking which again, complements the natural scenery. A 2 minute walk from the pool takes you to the river area which is amazing! There is a huge lagoon type area there which is just amazing for swimming. There are ample loungers set around the river area for completed relaxation in beautiful and quiet surroundings. The campsite has a brilliant clubhouse which opens at 6pm and closes at 10. Food there was of a good quality and we enjoyed the weekly traditional Corsican evening. We used the clubhouse every evening for a quick beer or two before walking into Solenzara. The clubhouse operates as a bakery between 8 and 10 a.m. and we used this service every day. All staff working at Sole di Siri are professional, polite and friendly. We especially thought that the barman, the waitress and Lorris ( entertainment) were outstanding. There is an animation team in the campsite that work week days only. It's not the type of entertainment you get in some Spanish hotels thank God; rather it is very low key (Aquagym, Minidisco, boules) and you are never forced into doing anything. The campsite is full of like-minded people from France, the UK, Germany, Belgium etc looking for a lovely and relaxed holiday. No larger louts or idiot Brits thankfully- this type of holiday would never suit them. The lovely marina resort of Solenzara and the nearest beach is about a 20 minute walk from the campsite along the river. We went into the resort every evening as it was stunning and the beach(es) were too die for! We even met the wild boar family on the walk in on a couple of occasions. Quite simply, we loved this place and we had a holiday that immediately sits up there with our top 3 best holidays ever. We WILL return in a year or so as it was just amazing!

We (family of 5) booked via Euroacamp and loved it. The mobile home was cramped but modern and clean and had decking terrace. The river is great for exploring and swimming in. You will need a car as on-site facilities and entertainment are very limited- which I like to be honest. Small site, which we felt very comfortable letting our kids roam and make friends. Corscia is beautiful. We visited local beaches which were great for snorkelling and the drive into the mountains along the same road the site is on was spectacular with great spots to stop and scramble over the boulders and swim. We are seriously considering returning next year, as it was just so nice!

lovely campsite in beautiful surroundings, the river is lovely and the pool area clean and large enough to relax ( never busy) don't expect lots of entertainment its quiet with just enough to children occupied if needed. The surrounding areas river and beaches are close by, plenty of things to do, small criticism would be that they could include a welcome pack with the basics and maybe a bottle of wine, most other high end campsites do as its a nice touch.
