Absolutely brilliant hotel. From the second we arrived, the reception was super friendly. Great bar, excellent food, spa and saunas are perfect. The view is unbelievable, and photos don't do it justice! Would recommend a stay here without hesitation, and we are already thinking about when we will return. Vielen dank!!!
Incredible panoramic view of the Dolomite mountains. The hotel staff were very helpful in providing hiking tips and giving directions. Stunning view from the balcony and very cozy and clean rooms. The mountain driving was a bit scary as we were not used to it so we did our best to get back before sundown. The Funes valley (St. Magdalena) was less than 1 hour away (scenic driving!!) which was definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to chill and experience the Dolomite!
The main selling point of this hotel are the incredible views of the Dolomite Mountains. We spent a lot of time on the balcony watching the play of the sunlight and the shadows of the clouds on the mountains. The hotel itself is a fine place to stay. The rooms are spacious and well laid-out, clean and nicely furnished, if not in the most modern style. Breakfast and dinner are not of gourmet standard, but are certainly well-prepared. Service is always courteous, helpful and friendly. But the main attraction here are the breathtaking views.
We arrived unannounced at around 1400 and asked if their restaurant was open. The young man that met us said that he could provide a cold dish of mixed meat and cheese. We agreed. We were impressed with his friendliness and positive attitude so asked if they had a room available. We stayed overnight with the "halb-pension" option and really loved the experience. Next time in the area we will make it a point to stay there for a number of days. Their multiple days options look great. Make a point to stay at the Sambergerhof you will enjoy it and it will be a top of the list experience.
A rare experience: feeling so comfortable in a hotel. Great and welcoming staff that did everything to accomodate us. Good and plentiful food, extensive wine card. Helpful tips for trips. Unbeatable view. Relaxing welness area. Personal attention that felt authentic. Best hotel I ever encountered. Very reasonably priced. Ideal for walking holidays, also in winter, thanks to the beautiful Villander Alm where jou can enjoy an unspoilt winter world without noisy ski-machinery and its users.
