I loved my stay in Terrace Houses Sirince. They are wonderful to use as a base for travel in the area or just sitting in the garden and relaxing, and I did both. The rehabbed and refurbished houses have a beautiful view overlooking the town. The owners, Charlotte and Ömer, have put a lot of love into their properties, and it shows in every detail. My house was exceedingly comfortable and filled with wonderful old furniture and architectural details. A wonderful getaway retreat. I cannot wait to return.

Tucked away in the small town of Sirince a few miles from Ephesus the Terraces look and feel a world away. Ephesus is a lifetime must destination. And experiencing it while staying here is likewise something you won’t ever forget. Sirince is an adorable, charming Greek-styled town (since it was built by the Greeks) that feels like it’s from centuries gone by because it is. The charming place is a couple hundred years old and because of it you feel like you are immersed in something you won’t see again.

The Terraces Houses only further adds to the experience. These houses, perched on a hillside with a commanding view of the charming town, transport you to a different and simpler time where life was slower and forces you to stop and smell the proverbial roses. Not only is the view and setting a transporting experience but so are the houses. The Olive House which we rented brought us back to the feel of long ago (but with modern amenities) the moment we walked in. With soft, warm and authentic furnishings and decor the house feels like the warmest of welcomes for a traveler on a journey to experience the past and reconnect with the present in a world of always chasing the future. The setting was sublime. The beds comfortable. The bathroom large and modern, but keeping to style, and our house even included the rare kitchen and washer and dryer.

At night you’ll see and hear nothing except the lights of the charming town and the expressions of the donkeys, chickens and dogs. At night it is 1850. At least it feels it. During the day it still looks it. Except that modern charming shops and amenities as well as excellent dining options abound.

The hosts of the place were both fantastic and helpful. Breakfast, which was included, was served in a nearby house in a courtyard near the house of one of the owners. The feeling created is one of being home and part of the family. And the food was excellent.

Anyone who comes to the area should stay here. I read other reviews of some folks who come and have certain criticisms that really go to the nature of the setting and property and are unrealistic criticisms. This is an antique place in an antique town. If you’re looking for something brand new and modern don’t come here. Please. Because you won’t fit in or like it. If you don’t understand that buildings made of stone and mortar on cobblestone streets cannot be as smooth, soft or dust-free as one made of wallboard and vinyl tile then this isn’t the place for you. If you want a brand new shiny stainless steel feel skip the houses and the town. But if you want something authentic, warm, inviting, comfortable, cozy and welcome that lets you experience life at a different time and pace, you can’t get any better than the Terraces Houses. And so for it’s ability to both be amazing and beautiful and let me feel something I won’t ever forget, the Terraces Houses is a resounding 5-star experience.

The Sirince Terrace houses provide outstanding holiday accommodation. I stayed in the Harem suite in the Clockmakers Cottage and enjoyed aspotlessly clean and amazingly decorated bedroom, bathroom and small sitting room. It feels like an insight into genuine - and very carefully chosen - Turkish traditional style. Views across the pretty village of Sirince are lovely. Sirince village is a great base for Ephesus, Selcuk and nearby sandy unspoilt beaches. And the village itself is buzzing with visitors, market stalls and some excellent restaurants.
Omer and Charlotte are excellent hosts - really helpful and kind and ensure their visitors make the most of their holiday in Sirince.

My second time here and the experience has only got better. We stayed in the Clockmakers Cottage, beautifully furnished, perfect for a couple seeking a weekend getaway or a relaxing break. Though parts of Şirince can get a little busy in summer the Terrace Houses are all tucked up in the back corner of the village and they are always quiet and peaceful. Breakfast on the terrace was a daily delight and Charlotte & Omer are full of good ideas for ways to occupy yourself in the area. Although I only just left I am already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you both so much for all your kindness and your generosity. x

We have just spent 9 days at the Terrace House (Grapevine apartment) during Christmas and New Year. We have had an extremely good and relaxing time with fire on the wood stove, a magnificent view over the village and great Turkish food and wine. If you are going here ‘off season’ remember warm wollen socks and sweaters. Do also remember good walking shoes. The narrow ‘roads’ in the village are quite steep and uneven.

The Terrace House is a bit away (5 min. walk) from the bustling center of the village which especially during weekends seems to be quite full of Turks on family outings. Fun to watch as a Dane.

The village is full of great restaurants both for dinner and a snack. And you can buy great wine everywhere. Our favorite restaurant was SEBIR just around the corner.

Omer and his neighbor Süleyman was very helpful with both providing us with great breakfast, wood for the stove and very good tips for trips.

We had a day trip to Karina by the sea. Very isolated but extremely good seafood. Ephesus is a must - and so is the museum in Selcuk. We also immensely enjoyed the Saturday market there. Priene is an untouched jewel - and the drive up to Virgin Mary’s House is indeed spectacular.

We parked at the parking lot (50 TRL/day) in the center of the village. Quite a challenge to get into that during day time with many guests. Do NOT drive your car all the way up to the hotel; especially not if you like us come from a flat country. It’s a 5 min. walk to the hotel.

It seems as though The Terrace House is a bit upscale compared to many of the other guest houses in town. Very nice decor with lots of Turkish antiques and well functioning. We really enjoyed our stay - and the great local hospitality.

Stunning views over this quaint village from an authentic, and comfortable house. We stayed in Grapevine with a family of 4 (two teenagers). Our house had 2 bedrooms upstairs (both queen size beds) each with en-suite bathrooms (with showers) plus a kitchen and living area and one more bathroom (also with shower) on the main floor. There is even a washing machine for laundry in the kitchen. Charismatic and helpful hosts, plus a delicious (and generous) Turkish breakfast served on a picturesque hilltop terrace. The charming village of Sirince is not to be missed, and the Terrace House property made our stay even more special.

The hotel is a little walk from the end car park. Getting to the car park and be a little traumatic depending on the time of day. The streets are very narrow and parked with visitors from all over the world. The hotel though is a mixture of houses of different sizes. All are very well setup and traditional. We messaged the owner on arrival and they sent directions and we were shown round our cottage. We stopped in Fig. They have a little terrace garden where you have breakfast on a morning and can get a beer etc on a evening. Great views out over the village.

At the beginning of September we were lucky enough to spend the night in Fig House. Despite arriving late in the evening, we had a warm welcome from Süleyman, who helped with our bags.
The house was very tastefully furnished. The kitchen area was equipped with everything we needed, including a variety of teas. There was also a great selection of books and we also liked the original artwork and the tasselled lights. The roll top bath was also a fun feature.
We spent a peaceful night and appreciated the comfortable beds.
In the morning we went next door to the breakfast venue and enjoyed sitting on the terrace with its panoramic view of the village and valley.
We really enjoyed our breakfast of local produce including home made jam and many cups of tea.
All in all it couldn’t have been better.

I spent an unexpected nine days in the lovely Grapevine House in March 2022 isolating after catching Covid. If you can't leave your accommodation at all for a week, it's more important than usual that it should be a lovely place to hang out and it really was. I (almost!) didn't want to leave and go home finally! Omer was a great host who went shopping for me and kept checking that everything was well, and that the logs for the fire were stocked up. Very mind an much appreciated. I would fully recommend it.
