Make your stay in Lysekil a unique experience. Grand Hotel Lysekil offers charming, comfortable and individually decorated rooms with TV, toilet and shower rooms. With us you will stay right in the heart of Lysekil and can experience nature, sea and history at its best. Stroll around Lysekil's center, walk along the water and breathe fresh sea air. Bathe and enjoy the granite cliffs, eat good food at the outdoor cafés or take a historical guided tour of Lysekil. All this just outside your window at the Grand Hotel in Lysekil. History: At Grand Hotel you stay in an environment rich in cultural heritage from the 1800s that also has international history. In 1878 it was designed in the then popular Swiss chalet style and was among the most modern equipped rural hotels in West Sweden. During World War II, the Grand Hotel, which then went under the name Stadshotellet, assisted authorities and was a base for ball-bearing exports to the British war effort. When the boats were loaded in Lysekil sailors lived at the hotel and dared not go further than 600 meters from the hotel unless under police surveillance. Many have stayed at the Grand Hotel/Stadshotellet over the years, among them Marcus Wallenberg and his friend revue king Karl Gerhard. Many have left a little piece of history at the Grand Hotel, now it's your turn!

Although it is old, this hotel provides all the necessary comforts and amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent, including waffles, eggs, yoghurt, cereal, croissants, bread and all the meats and cheeses. We loved the wine glasses included with the minibar. So many hotels just give you plastic cups. The location was great. Such a beautiful town!

Timber clad externally and internally, and located in town centre in Lysekil. Quite basic rooms and little space within around the bed. Small bathroom. But adequate for a short stay. Good buffet breakfast in an interesting lounge / dining room. The staff were not present when we arrived at 9:00pm, and the local restaurant where a notice directed us to was closed. Ringing the number given on the door , we were given an access code to get in and pick up room keys. The owner arranged for a local Pizzaria to stay open to enable us to eat! The receptionist welcomed us in the morning and was very pleasant.

The hotel is housed in an old charming, centrally located, house. Rooms are individually decorated and rather small but still holds two armchairs. The beds are comfortable, there is a TV in the room but no shelves in the bathroom to put a toiletry bag on. The breakfast buffet is good, there is free wifi and the staff is friendly and accommodating.

We paid 1500 sek for a hotel that dont have reception alotof time and were the standard of the rooms were not good is amasing. lysekil is anice place close the sea but not much happens there except during tze peak holiday period in july. We stayed in very nice hotel in the Centre of Gothenburg and paid half the price. The hotel has a pub and nightclub in basement and there is alot noice. No elevator make hard for older people to use this hotel. Breafast ok. No aircondition and rooms on the top floors are very hot in the summer.

As with most old "Stadshotell", they are dated without reinvestment being made, and this hotel is no exception. We stayed in room 503 which was really small, beds only 60cm wide!!, and placed in a corner so you had to climb to get to them. TV worked but you could not adjust the volume?!. Breakfast was ok.

Instead of making my breakast at home I choosed Grand Hotel in Lysekil.
For 95 Swedish Crowns at had nice breakfast, with the usual in the buffet.
The most impression on me was the salon, not the standard furniture - somthing unusal.

We stayed at this hotel July 3, 2013. You find the hotel in the middle of the town. It is an old hotel, fairly big. The unusual thing about it is that the building is made out of wood. And it is of course a special experience to stay in such an old wooden building .

However, the rooms are small, bathrooms even smaller because they clearly have been added long after the hotel was constructed.

Breakfast is included, but nothing to boast of. The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but there are several restaurants nearby so it is not a problem.

Would we stay there again? I guess not - too expensive for what it offers.

Classical 19th century town hotel. Central location. Room small but charming, but bathroom needs an upgrade. Clean but outdated.
Breakfast below average, perhaps because my visit was off season.
Service however was impeccable! Friendly and infomative staff and even written restaurant recommendations!
Lovely ambience.
Reasonably priced.

Dear guest, thank you for your friendly words about our staff! We were very surprised though about the review of the breakfast, as we always serve a big buffet with many choices. We will certainly look into what happened and hope to see you as a guest soon again. Kind regards Anette Grand Hotel Lysekil

The hotel is in the southern central part of Lysekil. It has been around for a long time and needs maintenance in common areas as well as rooms. Lift was out of order. Breakfast is good. The bar/restaurant had live music in the evening. Public parking across the road; free at night and pay from around 9 in the morning onwards. Good starting point for walkabouts and sightseeing.

We were there for just one night, but yet got a good impression of the hotel.

The receptionist was warm and positive upon arrival, helped us with questions on Lysekil and the rooms were also pretty good. It is situated right in the center of Lysekil with easy walks to most things.
We tried the bar they had and it was pretty cosy - yet they closed at 21:30 for the drinks - and thats to soon during the summer and since there were around 12-13 guests still there.
