Wonderful 3 night stay with my grandson. We were visiting family. Even though it was over the new year celebrations, we had a good night's sleep and enjoyed the pool. Lovely friendly staff, which was very welcoming. Even my 6 Yr old grandson commented how nice the hotel was. Sally in the restaurant at breakfast was very welcoming, especially. Reception was very helpful too, even when popping a missing towel, etc, up to our room personally.

Reception looks nice and welcoming, the bar area is small but OK the prices are pretty good. The room is dated, smelling almost damp and musty but the bed was comfy and clean. Breakfast was good and included in the price as was gym access but unfortunately the last admission is an hour before it closes I wouldn't reebok here

We have used this hotel twice now. First time I would have rated 3.5/4 out of 5. Now it’s down to a 2 out of 5. The reception is nice but the rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment. Cots provided are too small for an 18 month old. The finish is really poor, bathrooms are not the cleanest. I won’t return any time soon.

No lift, and I was on the 2nd floor with lots of cases. I was told that although I booked several months in advance the hotel was busy the night I arrived and so I only had a single size bed. The rooms are really dated. No plug socket near bed, which is hopeless for charging your phone for an alarm call. None of the plug sockets had USB charger points. Basically this hotel is really outdated and no effort has been made to modernize it to an acceptable standard. Other hotels are available that have realized we live in 2023 not 1983. Avoid this hotel unless "average" is you're benchmark.

The hill is built into a hill making it impractical to have a lift but we do always have staff on to assist with luggage. Been staying at this hotel for work for quite a few years and I'm glad to see it's shortly having a face lift as it definitely needs it. In the meantime though, a quick shout out for the staff who are consistently helpful and cheery ... and a special mention for LIZ who was working on reception when I checked in last night; I asked if I could have an envelope but, despite having a good look around for me, she couldn't find one that was big enough. Liz went out of her way to help though, popping into the hotel early this morning, despite the fact that she wasn't on duty, to leave some A5 envelopes from home at reception for me. That's what I call service! Thanks Liz 😊

The rooms at this hotel are dated and urgently need renovating. The shower in my room had hardly any water pressure and the bathroom looked original 1980s Breakfast was poor quality with over cooked hash browns, back on and sausages. Cannot justify the price charged for a sub par Holiday Inn

The Holiday Inn website pictures depict nice modern rooms, hence the reason I book. On arrival, the exterior of the building is ok, the reception area and lobby is well presented and modern, however I can not say that about the rooms.On arrival the reality was a totally different story. The room was very dated with stained carpets and a very worn couch that I refused to sit on as it looked so dirty. There were stains on the tray that contained tea and coffee, putting me off from using anything in the tray. I did not feel comfortable in the room and I would not dream of walking around without footwear. I will certainly not be staying here again and I would nor recommend it.

Was a perfect stop off closer to the euro tunnel, hotel was very clean and staff very friendly, rooms were clean and spacious. Very relaxing bar area. Very close to a small shopping mall which was ideal for us to walk and go shopping 🛍️. Would definitely use again if using euro tunnel again.

We enjoyed our stay of three days. Reception staff great. Nice entrance and bar although they charge London beer prices 😂. Good leisure facilities and parking. Rooms dated but ok. Need refreshing now so dropped them a mark. Ice tasted awful so not sure what that’s about. Did not try food although looked good. Overall a great place to stay and similar price to Premier inn. Thanks for looking after us 👍👍
