Grecotel Corfu Imperial is probably Greece’s most impressively located hotel, perched above the olive groves at the end of panoramic Peninsula Kommeno. A world of seaside olive trees, marble & palms. Elegant rooms with panoramic views, bungalows snugly embraced by pine groves, villas shine on the waterfront with new pools and a private entrance. A sequence of beaches, sandy coves and secret bays adorn the rocky coastline. A grand heated pool and 24 private pools for you to relax and enjoy the beauty of the fairytale Corfu landscape. Fine dining in 16 seafront restaurants and a lovely promenade... to taste gelato and cucina romana, to stroll along candle lit passage ways to the summer boutiques full of island antiques & local finds. ‘Yali’ invites you to taste age old piatti & the catch of the fish safari. It doesn’t get any better in Corfu.

Christa Petros Fortini Lola
Kostos Dida Suzanah

I really don't know where to begin, so I'll start at the check in procedure. I suppose

Very simple and straightforward ( even quicker if you've downloaded the Grecotel app and checked in remotely)

Our receptionist was friendly and welcoming, offering us refreshments as we waited for our room key.

The room itself was exceptionally well presented in Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with well chosen stylish furniture and accessories.

There was a Nespresso coffee maker complete with 4 complimentary pods (which was replenished daily with a further 2 pods) and the obligatory kettle.

The utility closet which housed the appliances also housed the remarkably efficient fridge and a draw for the daily replenished condiments.

There was a safe discreetly hidden, just under the preparation area. ( which took moments to reset to our own preferred PIN).

The balcony furniture was equally tasteful and served as the perfect place to enjoy the panoramic view of the bay.

Needless to say the bed and bedding were pristine as was the bathroom and kept immaculate daily, by Suzanah - our pleasant chambermaid.

Everyone goes on holiday for different reasons and for myself and my wife, it's quite simply … food.

And the Imperial did not fail to disappoint. Each morning the breakfast buffet served up what must have been close to a hundred different offerings of food and drink - catering for all with a really high quality selection of food.

I won't lie, I went back 4 or 5 times each morning, and each time coming back with a plateful of something different but equally tasty.

The staff were cheerful, and really professional in the way they carried out tasks. Crista and Petros martialled the proceedings in a highly efficient way and we're always ready to greet you with a welcoming smile.

For the evening buffet, just reread the above paragraph.

There are not enough superlatives to describe the food experience at the Imperial. I'm definitely not doing the staff or the food justice.

To work off those calories we spent each day on one of the private beaches where Dida was always on hand to assist us with our sunloungers.

The beaches were pristine as you would expect, and the placid sea warmed throughout the summer months made the swimming even more engaging.

The gardens were really well designed and the standard of workmanship was pretty high throughout. The planting schemes boasted a a range of perennials and herbs ( some of which were farmed and used on site).

The pools looked spectacular although I must confess I didn't go in.

All the staff were happy to greet us and seemed appreciative of my attempts at Greek. (I would definitely recommend trying to pick up a few words).

Even the checking out went smoothly and due to our late flight Kostos the hotel manager kindly extended our check out time to something more convenient.

All in all it was perfect for us and without doubt the best holiday my wife and I have had.

A massive thanks to the staff at the Imperial Grecotel
Corfu.

We have just come back from a lovely 5 night stay in this gorgeous hotel. We moved from another hotel where we were very unhappy and this place was heaven!

We stayed in room 437 (a deluxe sea view) and had wonderful views across to Gouvia. The room was extremely well appointed, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom had an extremely good walk in shower. Towels were changed every day. Beach towels also seemed to be changed on a daily basis.

The hotel’s outside spaces, gardens and beaches were immaculate. The main outside pool was heated which was a huge bonus for me! We used the pool as well as the beaches which were sandy and kind on the feet.

The buffet restaurant was extremely good. I don’t usually like buffets as you tend to get a weird mix of food on your plate - this place was different and I had some very good meals in the evening as well as breakfast. Fresh fruit, many salads, cold meats and cheeses and lots of hot food choice. They had an amazing honey comb in a wooden rack which I was impressed with! We also ate in the Italian restaurant one evening and if you’re on a half board basis, you get €20 euro per person taken off the bill.

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and at the start of our stay they were very helpful in moving us from our original hotel. This level of service carried through every member of staff that we met.

We would certainly stay at this hotel again and as I’m extremely fussy they should take this as a large compliment!

We visited in October of last year. We were delighted with the hotel from the minute we arrived. We were met by a member of staff who took us to a seated area in the lounge and talked us through everything to do with the hotel. She then took us to our room, the cases had already been delivered and we were left to settle in. Like others who have mentioned the view being blocked by the trees, we were in one of these rooms but as the weather was so hot, we turned this into a positive and we decided we were grateful for the shade. The birds, although very noisy, were also entertaining and its not every day we see a site like that. Venturing down to wander and explore we thought we were in heaven. The gardens, walkways, sitting areas and beaches were immaculate. There was more than enough seating even though we were told that the hotel was full. I agree that the food could have been a touch warmer but there was so much choice there was always something different to try every time we ate there. The staff were brilliant without being overbearing and the dining room was beautiful. As for the wasps, do some of the guests expect staff to stand around them with a can wasp killer? At that time of year there is nothing anyone can do about the wasps and people should not criticise the hotel for something that is out of their hands. The other restaurants on the site were fantastic and we were fully aware, before we went, that some of the restaurants were sited at the other two hotels. This is because we do our homework BEFORE booking so we know what to expect. I should also mention the reception staff for their patience and humour. The other person that deserves a mention is the shuttle bus driver who was always friendly and professional. To sum up, I really don’t know how this place could be improved and we will definitely go back - something we have never done before and we travel a lot. Thank you to everyone at the hotel.

Grecotel Corfu Imperial

Well, yes! After a wonderful stay in June , we couldn't resist the temptation to return for other 10 days from the second half of July. And we found our fantastic hotel again.

A very nice and elegant 5 star in a unique location with a magnificent sea view from 3 sides, a charming panorama of the bay of Gouvia, beautiful beaches and sandy coves that facilitate access to a clear blue water always protected from waves that allows you long swims until late in the evening due to the sunny exposure. If you add to all this a beautiful structure and well maintained, surrounded by gardens with old olive trees, a high-level staff that never lacks courtesy, friendly and professional, you will have everything that makes a vacation an unforgettable experience,
And now some details on our stay.
Upon arrival from Italy, Turin, in the grand hall of the hotel, with an amazing sea view, we found Maria, Front office manager and Effi, Rooms division manager, and they managed to get us all the necessary, remembering all our preferences including the type of room, very large with lovely bathroom, the type of pillows etc.. This made us feel immediately at home thanks to such a warm welcome from all the reception staff.

Breakfast in the restaurant: a real experience: rich buffet where you can find everything you want with a very helpful service.
The Yali restaurant is a must: beautiful teak terrace overlooking the sea where we had lunch every day and often dinner. Service well coordinated with courteous professionalism even at busy times by Fathiona with the help of Chrisofoula , Tony who served us perfectly fresh fish ., Sofronis to whom we owe among other things excellent advice on the best Greek wines, Sara always smiling and ready to anticipate our requests and all the others equally efficient and friendly. Magnificent view of the gulf and magnificent evening photos!
Excellent memories of Aristos restaurant, stylish with beautiful interiors and a gorgeous view of the sea. We had dined there many times enjoying gourmet dishes and fine wines with a very professional service managed by Oreste, a very qualified restaurant manager.

On the beach, you will find an excellent beach bar service provided, among others, by Nick, who is truly tireless, anticipating requests of every kind, including coffee at the beginning of the morning, aperitifs with sparkling wine roses, etc.

Speaking of beach life we have often been to water sports to do water skiing: here too very warm welcome by Catherine, Georgos and colleagues, a special thanks to Spiros great driver who helped us to refresh the techniques of water skiing rusty after two years.

In summary excellent hotel in a unique location staff with high professionalism and Greek warmth, for this we are already planning to return.......

After travelling since August, we couldn’t choose a better hotel to stay for a week and wrap-up our vacation with comfort.

Located on the tip of a peninsula, Grecotel Imperial has great views.
The hotel is luxurious and not cheap; however, we don’t have regrets about spending. We booked a deluxe suite with sea view located on the fifth level of the main building.

Our personalized check-in was comfortably done in the lounge (not at the reception) by the concierge who thoroughly explained our package. We were greeted with kumquat liqueur typical from Corfu and refreshing soda with lemon.

Our package included transfers to and from the airport arranged before when the hotel contact us to provide information. We also had complimentary Covid Rapid Tests which proved useful on our return to the mainland.

We included in our booking The Dine Club with half board dining; however drinks from water to alcoholic drinks are not included. The restaurants are good. The main restaurant offers an extensive buffet. We also used vouchers for two a La Carte dinners.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. The only suggestion would be the addition of a desk and a chair. We had an extensive choice of coffee and tea. Water for the coffee maker and the kettle was provided every morning. Also, the beach towels were brought to the room. WiFi had a good signal.

Days were sunny and great to spend on a sun lounger on the hotel’s beach of calm waters that were reaching our umbrella spot.

The hotel was serious on its commitment of safety. The guests were asked to use masks, reduce the number of people in elevators and keep distances. Free masks and disinfectant were available everywhere.

Last but not least, we were satisfied with the service from the checking-in to housekeeping, restaurant waiters and staff on the beach.

Awesome hotel! Close to Old Town.

We stayed four nights here, after staying four nights at the Olivar in the south. Two completely different hotel experiences and are experiences.

We stayed in the basic room which had an uninterrupted, perfect water view. Room itself was fine, well maintained, bathroom was small, lack of closet was annoying (only a clothing rack). We were on the top/5th floor which was a little difficult getting downstairs during busy times (breakfast) as the elevator took 15-20 mins to reach the fifth floor (traveling with a baby/stroller so steps wasn’t an option. They also don’t air condition the hallways of the hotels so it’s very warm inside. The rooms get ice cold though!

The grounds and facilities of the hotel are STUNNING. Very well maintained. You will constantly see staff taking away used beach towels or mowing grass.

The restaurants are a bit overrated honestly. The food isn’t that great as opposed to food in town or off resort. Of course they’re overpriced which is to be expected for resort food. We ate at Yali (incredible view) and Trattoria. We did not like the quality of the pool food at all- had raw, mushy sliders twice (yuck).

The location has nothing around in walking distance so you’re a bit stuck on the resort grounds but you’re only 15 mins from Old Town which is perfect for dinners at night! Would absolutely stay here again and eat off resort way more :)

This is a great hotel but just not 5 star. The view from my room was amazing and the location is incredible - awesome sunrise and sunset views, wonderful beach swimming and beautiful pools (but please read other reviews on the horrible sun-lounger culture!). However, don’t expect this hotel to be truly 5 star.

Just a couple of examples: checking into the room I was told the mini bar could be filled, but I would need to pay to fill it; no bathrobes; bills brought each time a drink was ordered to pay per drink rather than after having had all drinks at a bar; limited pool/beach towels. There was also a sign in the room that said only one Nespresso capsule could be used per adult per day and any extras would be charged at EUR 2. Things like the coffee capsule sign are not five star.

The other thing to note for future single travellers is that as a single female traveller the service I received was quite different from that of other guests. I was definitely deprioritised - and it was frustrating. I was waiting to be served and yet families would arrive and be served first. In one instance a family arrived 10 mins after me and had their food before I was asked for my order! True 5 star is consistent and fair.

The good bits…. Room clean but as other reviewers have noted, the original ugly hotel architecture not entirely disguised by the marble overlay.
The bad bits… towel hell. Not enough sun loungers and the curse of the rising at 6 to nab them. That is if you are lucky enough to have been left towels in your room without sending a what’s app to request them.
The other obsession with their ‘app’. Forget being human… if you haven’t sat down on arrival and booked your dinner via the app for the entirety of your stay, you can forget attempting to eat in this hotel
Forced to spend 50 euros every evening to go to Corfu town for dinner. This however proving a blessing in disguise. Fab place and much more fun Food in local restaurants better than this expensive, dead factory.
If you want to be in bed by 10.30… rising at 6 to get your sun lounger, plus spending an hour on your phone booking your dinners for a week, and don’t want to be anywhere other than a soulless hotel which could be anywhere in the world then you might like it.
Just as an example… on our first evening we failed to present our reservation email at the restaurant. Computer say No. An actual conversation proved fruitless but discovery of an email eventually worked. What madness is this?

Hotel also filled with screaming kids.
So in summary…. It lacks any of that responsive to your wants which marks out a proper 5 star hotel.
Not enough beach or sun loungers or maybe that’s because they are all covered in towels.
Horrible and like an expensive Mark Warner.

Beautiful hotel and exceptional service. All the staff made our stay as comfortable as possible and was at our disposal and attentive at all times. We also felt relatively safe under the corona circumstances as the staff was wearing masks at all tomes and the beds were being disinfected every evening. I was also particularly impressed at how attentive the managers, restaurants waitresses, cleaners, concierge, reception were and this greatly contributed to the excellent experience. Breakfast was very good and diverse. Few points that would have made the stay even better would have been longer spa hours, more storage/hangers in the rooms/bathrooms and more comfortable beds. Nonetheless overall excellent experience and would highly recommend this hotel. I will surely come back!

Arrived midnight on Sunday to a boutique reception with our 7 month old baby. Costos the night manager was working on his own and as such we were kept waiting to check in for 25 mins. As an apology for keeping us waiting with the baby he surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade, from a bungalow room to a spacious suite. This is a lovely clean, modern, stylish hotel that has recently undergone refurbishment. Food is outstanding with rotating options in the buffet hall with spacious booth type seating, and options to eat inside or outside with wonderful views. Chrissa the main restaurant manager was outstanding and so were her staff. They remembered our names and what we liked and didn’t like and made the effort to welcome us everyday. We booked the other 2 restaurants trattoria and aristos as part of half board package and the service/experience was 5 star although the set menu options are a bit limited unless you want to pay extra.

Great little private beaches with egg chair swings and comfy bed chairs to relax on. Only negative is it’s not a buggy or wheelchair friendly hotel but I’m sure they will take note and work on this. As getting up and down from the beach and higher levels/pools can be a drama as lots of steps and a gravel path.

Overall from the cleaners to the managers they all strived to make us feel very welcomed and never said no. Stunning property in a stunning location.
