My wife and I just spent 3 nights there (Feb 2018) and wish it could have been more. The whole place was spectacular ... the food was great, the staff very friendly, the room was beautiful and the view from the room may have been...More
Morgans Rock exceeded our expectations. We were in bungalow #15, the farthest from the lobby and found the hike up to it well worth the view and the privacy. The plunge pool was lovely and a necessity on hot days to cool us down plus...More
Our accommodation at Morgan's Rock was remarkable - like being in a 5 star tree house. We couldn't quite believe the position right above the beach - it was such an amazing treat to be able to lie in bed and watch and listen to...More
We visited their restaurant for lunch. Food was ok but drinks are just terrible. For $12, I would have expected a little bit better drink. $5 drink I ordered at other restaurant tasted 10 times better. I ordered Pina Colada and milk shake. Both tasted...More

The bungalows and villas all have screened in areas (like where the bed is), as well as outdoor space, but the structures are mostly made of wood, and aren’t exactly hermetically sealed. My wife and I spent a week there in December and there were almost no bugs. In fact, we never had any inside our room, but the potential is certainly there, and I imagine it has a lot to do with the time of year you’re there, plus a little luck. If you’re very, very squeamish about insects and spiders and scorpions, it might not be the perfect place for you...That said, it’s an eco-lodge in Nicaragua, and is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been in the whole world, so my personal opinion is that the experience is more than worth a potential encounter with a creepy crawly or two.

I would not recommend leaving the hotel since it is away from
the town and at night it did not appear safe. We stayed n the hotel and ate dinner an hung around the restaurant and lobby with other families.
