First visit to Bordeux as a couple of wine lovers. Neil and Faith were excellent hosts and presented a fantastic Gite for our stay. The Gite was a peaceful escape with excellent amenities and we enjoyed the views with a glass of wine by the pool. We were really impressed with the addition of an outside bar by the pool, which with our next intended visit with the family in the summer will be well used. The Gite had three great sized rooms, fantastic for the whole family. Visiting several wine producers and Cooperatives we managed to build up our local wine knowledge through testing and buy a few bottles to boot. Despite our stay being outside the summer season, we really enjoyed visiting some of the popular tourist sites in Bordeux and Saint Emillion without the expected crowds. The hosts also directed us to some great restaurants and local cafes. A fantastic break away, cannot wait to return.

Neil and Faith asked me to come and play bagpipes at their Burns Supper and stay for a few days - I jumped at the chance. The event was fantastic but you don't need to know about that! The accommodation and the area is lovely, it is so quiet! I went for a run about 15km on the rural roads around the gite and saw about half a dozen cars. The area is full of great little villages with cafes and restaurants, great old French houses and chateaux. It was a bit chilly to use the pool in January but that will be great in Summer. Its very French, I loved it - you should go too!

This was our second visit to the wonderful Grande Pailley Bas, having previously visited in 2016. We would have been back in 2017 if it weren't already fully booked! A well appointed three bed roomed accommodation over one floor makes this property ideal for all three generations of our party. Set In a beautiful, peaceful, rural location, a short drive from local amenities the property is quiet and secluded with a secure, large flat garden ideal for children and a good sized pool which is safely fenced and kept scrupulously clean by Ian each morning. As keen road cyclists we enjoyed the various well planned and way marked local routes available on the tourist information website. Three or four of these pass near to the property and can be joined at any point to create routes to suit all ages and abilities. There also appear to be a number of off road routes locally to suit the fat tyres riders out there! Our hosts Fen and Ian were attentive and welcoming without being intrusive and really helped us to get the most from our stay. Highlights this time included the evening food markets which take place in Bastide towns a short drive away most evenings each week, the inflatable water park to rival Total Wipeout which was great fun and very reasonably priced and the huge Sunday market at Isegeac. The outside space offers a well thought out choice of seating and dining options to make the most of sunshine or shade depending on the weather so every meal was taken outdoors and the gas BBQ was in use almost every evening. A wonderful holiday that we hope to repeat in the future.

We found this Gite through a google search and immediatly fell in love with it. The owner's Ian and Fen were incredibly pleasant and helpful right from our first enquiry. They provided very useful tips and advice that was invaluable to us especially as we had never been to that area before. We can't praise both Ian and Fen enough. They were absolutely lovely and catered to our every need. On one occasion Ian took the time out of his day to take me out on a local photography trip. Each day they would make sure we were okay and provided local knowledge of whichever area we were visiting. They even went as far as to print out local maps and provide restaurant guide books etc. We cannot recommend visiting this Gite highly enough. The gite itself is in lovely condition with lovely rural views in each direction. The pool was checked and cleaned first thing every morning ready for our use. There is a bbq area to sit and enjoy the lovely evening weather. Perfect family holiday : ) The Anderson's

We (grandparents, parents and children) enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing week in this peaceful holiday home, with glorious sunshine to enjoy the swing chair and beanbags on the veranda, playing boules in the garden, swimming in the spotlessly clean pool, riding hired bikes and visiting local market towns as well as the gorgeous Bordeaux and stunning Dune at Archachon. The accomodation is spacious, clean and beautifully set out. Ian and Fen have thought of everything you could need and went well beyond the call of duty in staying up until 2am for our unexpectedly late arrival! Cannot recommend highly enough, just wish we'd had two weeks here instead of one!
