Stayed in No. 3 Wilsons Cottage for 4 nights. First impressions was "we've found a gem here" and we wasn't disappointed. Cottage is next to The Wilsons Arms, a lovely pub and behind the pub is a view of Coniston Old Man - stunning. The cottage was clean and finished to a very high spec, with everything you need and...

Wonderful food. Me and my whole party enjoyed our mains. A great mix of good food and a local feel. The slate decor and fish tank phone booth exemplify the fusion of modern and traditional lake district culture. Could not be more positive about this place!!

Traditional pub restaurant with modern twists. Had to book for evening dinner. Food good, service only average. Dog and family friendly; the night we ate there we were distracted by a happy dog in the bar. Worth a look but not really excellent.

We stayed in the ground floor apartment The Saddleback for three nights. The staff are delightful, friendly and considerate. The apartment is fairly new so furnishings etc are of a good standard. The wet room is state of the art although perhaps a little extra drainage would help as one has to swim to use the lavatory for the rest...

Visited with my wife after being at Cumbrian Heavy Horses. We shared duck parfait to start, game pie and fish pie as mains and shared sticky toffee pudding as desert. Starter and main were perfection. Excellent flavour with perfect seasoning. Veg was perfectly cooked. More toast would have been appreciated with the starter. Desert was not overly sweet and very...

We arrived for a two night stay with our dog, and had booked room 2 direct with the Wilsons. I mentioned on arrival that we had actually since seen the room available cheaper online and was told that they would look into this. The room was lovely, exactly as advertised, with a huge monsoon shower. We went for a lovely...
