Good home cooked meals tailored to our dietary needs, quiet, comfortable clean rooms with mosquito netting made it easy to sleep. There’s a couple of sights to see but I enjoyed most getting to know the family and their friends in the town. We went out dancing in the town center two nights over the holidays which was a ton...

My partner and I traveled to the Dominican Republic for the first time this year. Before going, we decided we wanted something away from the tourist crowds and beach scene. The Casa de las Anas is a simple, but extremely comfortable B & B with amazing food. In the area nearby many families still have subsistence gardens with yuca, bananas,...

I spent a fabulous week at Casa de Las Anas in early 2012. I was in the country to visit cacao/agricultural enterprises and development agencies, and initially planned on staying in Santiago as a gateway to the NW region. Casa de Las Anas came up in searches for Santiago lodging, though it's over an hour away. The more I read,...

My visit to the Dominican Republic was very unique - and I'd like to thank and credit the warm staff and family of Casa De Las Anas for that experience. While many know the DR as Punta Cana or Puerto Plata (where the beautiful beaches and all-inclusive resorts are), I had a chance to have a taste of the true...

I spent about 5 weeks at Casa de las Anas hoping to work on my Spanish conversation, it was a great opportunity and without question I would recommend this experience. This was my second time at Casa de las Anas: The first time I visited, I spent about a week just relaxing and thought it was a great experience, so...

This was the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed at. Its a simple Dominican home, super clean and neatly arranged. With internet!! A huge outdoor covered patio, breezy, clean and pleasant. Set in its on "oasis" amongst the pristine little town of Moncion. A large yard filled with fruit trees and other foliage. But whatever you feel or...

Four days with the "Anas" in Moncion was a wonderful experience. Since I'm an Ana too, we fit right in! Other reviewers have mentioned the great Dominican food Ana Julia prepares and the warm hospitality. Something we particularly enjoyed was the way extended family and friends of all ages continually dropped by to visit, play games, snack and chat. This...

We sadly only had one day to spend in Moncion at Casa de las Anas, but we certainly enjoyed ourselves! AnaJulia and her friends/family made us feel welcome and were truly wonderful hostesses. Our family enjoyed a glimpse of non-tourist Dominican Republic, especially since we had the good fortune of visiting the town of Moncion on the eve of Dia...
