No nonsense on the Orange River. It’s a nice in between stop… The Orange River is flowing and the lodge on a Saturday night is blossoming. Rooms are just fine, with a private parking. The pub next door serves pizza’s on the outside deck. Just fine. There’s not much more that I can say about this place. Safe, friendly, accommodating.

This is definitely a must see. The facilities are neat and clean, the staff friendly and always willing to assist. Have brunch on the balcony which over looks the Orange River, and wonderful tanquil spot, or romantic getaway. My definite accommodation choice when in the Aliwal North area.

Having stayed elsewhere in Aliwal North many times it was a pleasant surprise to take our group of 32 people for an overnight at Riverside. I suppose that in the past we had been cautious because of negative reviews. We were impressed with the room although the shower was a bit poor, the reception was great and the meals adequate,...

The fun started when I asked to check in at 1330. "Our rules don't allow us to check anyone in before 1400, and anyway we won't check you in until your travel agent sends proof of payment" I then found my colleagues languishing in the nearby pub. They had been evicted from the lounge as only 2 of the 4...

Clean, ok for overnights . Way overpriced and certainly not 3 star level. Didn't try breakfast despite paying for it. No one was at breakfast when i walked by to check out. It's cold in winter naturally. They have electric blankets which was good for the kids. Bathrooms are small but clean. Carpets were not unfortunately. Old and dated furniture....

The accomdation is standard with a beautiful view over the Orange river. Personnel are friendly and the food was good. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and the bed had electric blankets for staying over in the middle of the winter.

Nice deck over the river with a nice view of the river and bridge.  Food and service very average which is a pity because a lot can be done with this location. The whole facility is also starting to look a bit rough, in need of some TLC.

The food was not bad, but the service was absolutely shockingly bad. Most of the steaks was cold and if you order a sauce, it will only be served 15 minutes late!!! They can't service bigger groups or when it is busy. The location is good and with a nice view.

Neat and tidy room, bathroom and sitting room. Nice veranda overlooking the Orange River. Could have done with a small fridge though. Well positioned as it is positioned as you cross the bridge into Aliwal North.

If Youre satisfied with dirty and stained carpets and hair in the bath then this is the place to stay! Beds not too bad but it was dingy! Not my idea of fun and cleanliness! And then it was expensive too! R1600 For the night!
