Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A group of us stayed here for a race weekend at nearby Croft and we were all impressed with the place. Spotlessly clean rooms, very polite and helpful staff. My room had a big comfortable bed and even with the windows open all night, I slept soundly. There's a parking space round the side big enough to take a trailer and tow car.

This hotel is located in a dwelling area and you can park your car just in front of the main entrance. The rooms are rather big and clean ; my TV set did not work, however (or it was far too complex to make it work, which is basically the same ...). At breakfast, I was missing just some nice bread and good coffee (coffee served was far too weak). Still I would recommend this place.

A small welcoming and friendly hotel, well appointed comfy rooms, spotlessly clean. And good breakfasts too. Great value and a greatplace to stay for business or holiday break. Located on the edge of a housing estate the hotel is quiet with no traffic noise. Great for a restful nights stay

We’ve stayed at the Abbeyfield before when visiting family in Stockton and it’s ideally located for Yarm too. This time we stayed for two nights (sad reason - family funeral) and our room was - as ever- well equipped and comfortable as well as being spotlessly clean and properly sanitised. Home cooked breakfast was great and the tables were socially distanced. All the Covid arrangements were in place and reassuring. I have travelled the world for business and I can honestly say that there’s nowhere to beat this place. Free parking, good WiFi, shops and restaurants nearby (when not in lockdown) and a friendly, helpful host and staff.

We travelled up to abbeyfield lodge from Leeds as we were attending a friends wedding in Stockton. The staff greeted us on arrival and were so friendly. The family room was spacious and super clean. The staff even organised a taxi for us to get to the wedding venue. The beds were so comfy I didn’t want to have to get out of it the next day but I’m glad I did because the breakfast was spot on and cooked fresh individually. The staff asked about the wedding and again were so lovely and friendly. The electric car charging point was also an added bonus.
I would recommend this place to everyone and will definitely stay again when we are next up north.

We were looking for a 3 night stop over in Eaglescliff to catch with family. Our stay was excellent with a warm spacious and comfortable room. There was ample parking and the whole facility was spotless. The breakfast is excellent value and ALL the staff are fantastic. A great stay.

Return visit here on a cycle trip with friends and just as good as my previous stay. Very well appointed bed and breakfast which would give many large hotels a run for their money. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when in the area.

One of the best bed and breakfast places I have ever stayed at.!!
The staff are very friendly and helpful, the room was large clean and quiet. Whilst the full English was exceptional.
And they even had a complimentary Tesla charger for my car.
Fantastic

I have stayed in many hotels in the area, but insist with my company on staying here. Its clean, homely, friendly staff, well run and always welcoming. Close to the centre of Yarm. Great service, even in these difficult times. I will be coming back again soon
