Chateau de Combis started as a fully-inclusive residential gourmet cooking school set in a lavishly refurbished 18th century chateau, which nestles in 43 acres of its own achingly beautiful, rolling Gers parkland. Then everyone asked if they could just come and hang out, while enjoying the same yummy food and refreshments! Well, why not, say we! L'esprit de Combis is about having fun, fine food and wine, together with friends, in quite there most enchanting setting. Don't think of us as a hotel -staying at Combis is like staying at your best pal's South of France castle, where the fine food and drink keep on coming, and you have the run of a fine house and grounds. You can still come for a cooking course, if you like. Equally, you can come and find out what chateau living is really all about, while we do it all for you.

My family and I spent a marvellous time at The Château Combis. As soon as we got to the Chateaux we were greeted by the host with a... "mi casa es su casa" :-)! You have the immediate feeling that everything around you has been wisely prepared, a private chef will guide you through unbelievable local ingredients and amazing receipts, the property is full of amazing stories, battles, unique guests and the surroundings... are exactly what you would expect if visiting this vibrant part of South of France. Three big sofa's positioned in front of a majestic fireplace have been our favourite spot at night while tasting the amazing french wines ... This is an experience that well suits families, couples, group of friends or exclusive corporate team buildings events!!

We spent the Easter Weekend at the Chateau and what a great experience it was. With an adult family the staff at Combis made it all so easy, we space to all move around the chateau inside and out. Tastefully decorated rooms, all with touch of history. And the food, I would like to take chief home with me, so I can eat like a king all year around. Tp all the staff at the Combis, Thank you

I recently spent a long week end at Château de Combis with a few friends, and I must say the experience was amazing. The place is so charming, beautifully decorated and refurbished, very elegant and comfortable, and very loyal to its long history and origins. The rooms are large and very comfortable, and the bed... you wish you could sleep there for the rest of your life. The whole gastronomic experience was stunning. The chef, Pat, originally from whales, has mastered the french cuisine techniques and incorporated them in her particular "savoir faire", and we even learned how delicatessen like foie gras is prepared. The surroundings are gorgeous, very old typical french towns, with their "café du midi" where you can enjoy a glass of Ricard within a rugby-fanatics atmosphere... But I´d say Turlough, the owner, as the true essence of the place... always there for you to enjoy your stay, very smart, funny and passionate about entertaining. I would definitely recommend the Château for whoever wants to escape modern life without giving up on comfort and luxury. The whole experience makes you feel as a king.

I truly enjoyed the Château Combis experience. I felt at home within seconds, greeted with canapes and local aperitif. The historical property has all modern fittings and beautiful surroundings. The chef, Pat, gave us our first foie gras cooking lesson and enjoyed us with her magic recipes. The owner is very funny and passionate, an Oxford BA (Hons) in philosophy, politics and economics, so plenty of things to discuss with him and learn from. We planned to do plenty activities and visits but ended up enjoying the place and having a great relaxing time. The beds are amazing, I slept like a baby ;-)

Hi Alain. Can you believe you are our first French guest? Nearly all our guests are from Anglophone countries, so it was great to have a native at last! Even better that we lived up to your undoubtedly high expectations! It was super to have you, and we look forward to the next time. I wish you hadn't embarrassed me by mentioning my education, however. *blush*. Very best wishes, Turlough.

We have just returned from the most fantastic two weeks at Chateau Combis (also known as Chateau Noble) which we booked through Oliver’s Travels. We were 16 (three generations – grand parents, parents and children aged from 6 months to 10 years) and despite the diversity of our group Chateau Combis was a brilliant holiday for us all. The Chateau is a lovely grand home which has been lovingly brought into the 21st Century by its owner Turlough who has remained sensitive to its history and origins and yet has enhanced it with great elegance and comfort. The heart of the Chateau is the enormous, well equipped kitchen. We are all keen cooks and loved shopping for local produce and then spent many hours with a glass of wine cooking with all the family around us – every utensil and kitchen appliance you have ever dreamed of where at our finger tips. Every bedroom was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The linen and towels were lovely and soft and the bathrooms well equipped with powerful showers and two of the rooms with beautiful deep two person baths. I expect that under normal circumstances the rooms would have remained cool in the summer and warm in the winter due to the thick walls of the Chateau, when we were there however the weather was unusually hot so Turlough kindly bought a fan for each room. The grounds of the Chateau are wonderful, with so many places to explore. The pool which is fully secured with a fence was used non stop by us and has the perfect balance of a lovely sunbathing area and some big trees for some shade. The only thing to be slightly cautious of if you are travelling with young children is the small decorative ice house/fountain which although was not full of water, was very deep and would have been a very nasty fall for any of the children. Turlough, the owner, and Linda, the house keeper, where the most brilliant team running the chateau. Both stay off site but come in as required. Turlough was an extremely patient host and very knowledgeable guide/concierge filling us with ideas of where to eat, where to shop and what to discover in the region. He popped over most days to check if everything was ok and if anything needed doing. Linda was a complete treasure and kept everything spick and span which was essential for us with so many children. She was so patient and kind and it was such a pleasure and relief to see her every morning. We would highly recommend Chateau Combis to anyone, family or big group of friends, however young or old, for a wonderful holiday.

Hey Charlotte! Thank you for such lavish praise! It was a real pleasure having you all, and nothing makes us happier than to see people really getting the most out of the chateau. Which you did! Hooray! Your dad, Ronnie, seemed to reckon we’d be a great spot for Christmas. I concur, so stay in touch. ;) Warmest regards Turlough
