A 4 day break with a friend and 3 kids ages 11-15 We had the best time. Welcombe meadow is a little piece of Devon Heaven - the safari tents are beautifully positioned ensuring each party has adequate privacy - and every attention to detail has been considered. The weather wasn’t great - but it didn’t matter - the space is so large and comfortable and coupled with the log burning range - all we had to worry about was when to put a log on and when were going to have lunch:dinner:supper! The separate games room was a surprise bonus and a great addition for the kids to hang out in. A lovely destination with discrete but attentive hosts - and an amazing Victoria sponge as a welcome after the drive - we will definitely be back Just the ticket - a really cosy, comfortable relaxing few days - to slow down and unwind - thankyou Welcombe Meadow

Welcombe Meadow was our first experience of glamping and it went beyond our expectations. The tent had everything we needed and was super clean. The range and electric blankets made it cosy and warm. Lovely personal touches, fresh flowers and cake on arrival. Friendly and helpful hosts, recommended places to eat and visit locally. The north Devon beaches are stunning, loved bodyboarding. We also cycled the Tarka Trail and visited Clovelly. There was plenty for 2 teenagers and a 10yr old to do in a week and they all enjoyed hanging out in the barn playing pool.

We absolutely LOVED the safari tents at Welcombe Meadow! Spacious, cosy with the log burner & electric blankets on all beds (a game changer!) Lovely touches such as a freshly baked Victoria sponge on arrival & ground coffee for the cafetière. Big sofa & arm chair with plenty of snuggly blankets & a TV. It was terrible weather with high winds & torrential rain but the safari tent was robust & cosy. The shower room was luxurious with an amazing huge rainfall shower; didn’t want to get out! Separate toilet, again done so nicely & everything spotless. Mel really has added so many lovely homely & high end touches which make it all such a treat of a place to stay. Can’t wait to visit again with better weather to make the most of the lovely deck area with fire pit & BBQ & outside seating area overlooking the view.

We are a family of 5 with dog 🐕 and had the best time at Welcombe Meadow! The safari tent was amazing, plenty of space and everything needed. Lots of personal touches made us feel very welcome. The games room was great with a nice selection of games providing plenty of entertainment. Bob and Mel were really great hosts and happy to help. The location is great for exploring the local area. We hired surf boards at Croyde beach and caught some great waves. My girls took a beach horse ride at Westward Ho! We visited the little fishing village of Clovelly which was also nice. I highly recommend the Bell Inn at Chittlehampton - really good, tasty food with great hosts. If North Devon tickles your fancy you’d struggle to find a better place and hosts. Recommended.

My family of four had a fantastic few days at Welcombe meadow. All the home comforts you could possibly need. The heated blankets were dreamy, log burner great and lovely hot shower after a day at the beach. Some great personal touches by Bob and Mel too, local coffee and a freshly baked cake - we’ll definitely look to stop in again next time we’re in this area! Thanks again!

Absolutely beautiful safari tent in beautiful peaceful surroundings. The tent was cleaned to a high standard, it was bright and stylish. The beds were super comfy! A tasty cake was sat waiting for us on our arrival and did not disappoint! Bob and Mel are the perfect hosts friendly and always available should you need them. The games room has everything you need to entertain kids of all ages! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be returning for sure in the near future! (We were thinking a hot tub situated on the deck Admiring the views would be a perfect addition) The Collins family

This was our second visit to Welcombe Meadow, last year we stayed in Torridge and this year we thought we would try out Taw! Both tents are as amazing as each other with every little touch you could think of! Mels lovely welcome cake was just what we needed when we arrived and was just as yummy as we all remembered! The children couldn’t wait to sleep in their little cabin again and the new seats on the decking were a great new addition to relax on, sipping a glass of wine, whilst watching the sun go down! We had a mixed weekend of weather but this meant that we also got to experience how wonderful it is to snuggle up on the huge sofa in-front of the fire and enjoy the fantastic games room. Thank you Bob & Mel for another memorable stay, Welcombe Meadow is such a special place.

We really enjoyed our stay at Welcombe Meadow. We stayed as a family of three with a two year old in toe - The tents are fantastic...well equipped, beautifully presented and very clean :) a lovely balance of being spoilt with luxury but still keeping the feel of camping. The toilet and shower pod at the back of the tent was a great feature, making life a lot easier with a toddler. The grounds around the tents are really spacious with plenty of space for our 2 year old to run and play but at the same time feeling remote and private. The log burning stove made cooking fun and kept us warm and toasty when the sun went down. The electric blanket was a nice surprise and added some extra comfort. We loved it :) thank you!

Just had the best weekend relaxing with friends. The accommodation and facilities were fantastic. The tents were beautifully decorated and the attention to detail was phenomenal. The tent was equipped with so much more than I expected, including a toaster and a Microwave. It was such a peaceful stay. The homemade cake on arrival was a delicious surprise. Thank you Mel and Bob - we will definitely come again!

A wonderful weekend that surpassed all of our expectations. The safari tent was amazing with lots of lovely homely touches, including a home baked cake waiting for us on arrival! The wood burning stove kept us nice and snug, as well as toasting our hot cross buns perfectly. A very unique Easter weekend. The hosts Mel and Bob couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. Readily available if we had questions and full of local knowledge yet happy to leave us to enjoy the privacy of the county setting. The games barn was perfect for entertaining the three kids (aged 8-14) and the stunning setting in the middle of the Devon countryside was perfect for dog walks, star gazing and general relaxing. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. If you get a chance, be sure to book the pizza oven one night. Homemade pizza under the stars is a must! Wonderful weekend.
