Jan and Andrew were the perfect hosts. I arrived about 9 30 am and was welcomed by Jan with tea and Bara Brith ( a lovely touch as I had come from Wales.) in the guests conservatory. I was then shown to my room. The Indigo Room at the top of the house. I have stayed in many places and...

We visited with two children and were given a whole floor to ourselves with two well-equipped, wonderfully decorated doubles. What a heavenly place. Beautiful setting, a very short -and very pretty - walk into the centre of Hay. Wonderful, warm hosts who look after your every need. Really great communal space and garden. And a fantastic breakfast to top it...

What a lovely review! Thank you so much. We really enjoyed meeting you all. It was a pleasure to have you and the children ( very polite and well behaved ) to stay. Yes it's very annoying that we are no longer in the Hay listings with Trip Advisor but despite all our guests saying so nothing has changed !...

We booked a week in the coach house apartment attached to Rothbury House, with our dog. The setting is wonderful, and Jan and Andrew very welcoming. The apartment was spotless and extremely comfortable, with many extras. The house is situated just a 10 minute walk from Hay-on-Wye, in a beautiful, quiet setting. We will be sure to visit again, especially...

Rothbury in Cusop is a short walk from the centre of Hay on Wye and is listed as a B&B. It is so much more. Rothbury is a haven, an experience, a kind of mini-mansion. The house is late Victorian/Edwardian restored with care and style by the owners Jan and Andrew. There a magnificent lawn and garden, a garden room...

Dear Phil and Ann This is one of the nicest reviews we have ever had! Thank you so much. We really enjoyed meeting you and enjoyed our chats! You are welcome to come and stay any time. We have just had an excellent week here. Even though we stayed in the coach house self catering, we couldn't have picked a better place. Jan and Andrew are superb hosts, the place is beautiful and relaxing. We had breakfast on 3 occasions and it was faultless. We had a 10 min walk to Hay and there are plenty of places...

The hosts welcomed us with tea and biscuits before showing us to our comfortable room. The whole house is tastefully decorated and furnished in period, right down to tableware and cutlery at breakfast. My Wife loved it. The Rothbury is about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the middle of Hay on Wye where there are plenty of dinner choices....

Dear Jonathan and Valerie. Thank you for such a lovely review. We are always pleased to hear guests have enjoyed their stay and write a positive review. Thank you for mentioning the cutlery etc. All this belonged to my grandmother so it's nice to be able to put it to good use. Good luck on your travels. Best wishes Jan...

Stayed with friends for the weekend at this lovely B&B. All home comforts and great hospitality. Only a few minutes walk into Hay on Wye and some great walks straight from the house. We did not use the car the whole weekend. Many thanks to Jan and Andrew.

I can't speak too highly of Rothbury. I had a wonderful relaxing couple of days. Jan and Andrew really are artists in terms of hospitality. It's luxurious without being fussy, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished, lovely views, Great food, often locally sourced. Also they have a single room which is rare these days and which I much appreciate as I...

Such a lovely review! We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and managed to find us here in Cusop which is part of Hay on Wye yet Trip Advisor refuse to reinstate us in the Hay listings despite having been there for ten years! We were number 2 in Hay and are now number 1 in Cusop. It's a...

Stayed for three nights, and had the best time ever. Jan and Andrew are very friendly, always willing to offer tips on walks around Cusop, or just have a short chat. The Garden Room is also a great place to hang out, especially after a busy day out at Hay or the beautiful countryside. Breakfast has been really delicious too,...
