Full of character but an over priced room rate considering it is a 'do-it-yourself' breakfast arrangement. The room was comfortable but has no mod-cons (no TV) but bags of period charm. The bathroom needed a full overhaul as it is cramped and dated, although it was clean. Bedside lights would be a welcome addition too!

Linda, the friendly and accommodating owner, was away, but had left the key and a wide array of food for breakfasts, as well as arranging for Ed to call and check everything was ok. The cottage is utterly charming and beautifully decorated. Loads of period features and stunning views. The winding wooden staircase should be approached with caution as I...

The website pictures simply do not do justice to this extremely wonderful, charming and artistically decorated home-from-home. We were very lucky to have the main bedroom at the top of the house, which was full of character whilst also being very comfortable, not to mention the idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. Linda was very relaxed and welcoming, and gave...

Hay-on-Wye accommodation was full but this B n B offered a room. Our room was in the attic as shown in the photo. A very comfortable large room at the top of two flights of spiral stairs. Not easy to carry suitcases up but the view was great from the top. Make your own breakfast from the supplies in the...

If you like peace & quiet, quirky, olde worlde character yet modern facilities and home comforts, you'll love this B&B. We were late arriving but rang ahead and everything was made ready for us. The breakfast was humongous! Everyone sat around a big farmhouse table chatting away as though we'd all known each other for years. Only 2 miles out...

We found the Old Post Office purely by chance and were amazed at our good fortune. Characterful old property, artistically and tastefully furnished and decorated, quite quirky which suited our tastes as we like to find something a little different from the run of the mill B and Bs. Arriving on spec we were not sure if our dog was...

We have stayed here as a couple ,and with our children many times over the past 20 years and we LOVE IT!! Two of the bedrooms are on the small side and share a bathroom between them, but this is reflected in a lower price. Linda's breakfasts are legendary, and everyone eats at one large table which is informal and...

I have stayed here solo and as a couple. A little outside Hay, in a quiet spot by a church and a handful of houses, a great place to find peace and tranquillity. Best if you have your own transport to find it or to go out for evening meals in Hay or the surrounding area (Pandy etc.). Efficient and...

The attic room was enormous, the bed very comfortable, the bedroom and bathroom clean. Our hostess was welcoming, even to the extent of digging up and presenting to us part of a clump of flowers which my wife had admired. The breakfast was wonderful; I had a large plate of scrambled eggs, and there was the most delicious home-made marmalade...
