We arrived on a very hot day, temperature was over 100 degrees (F), and with no air conditioning in the facility we were concerned about the heat. However, the lodge is located on the river and there is almost always a breeze. Our room had excellent ventilation and a very effective ceiling fan The heat turned out to not be...

I cant say enough about the wonderful welcome that we received from BRL. Giovanni, Petra, Ignacio, Rocky, and the list of names goes on and on. The rooms were all first class and in clean immaculate condition and all with enough room not to be disturbed by your neighbor. The views from all aspects of the resort not a lodge,...

Black Rock was the highlight of our trip! The staff is so friendly, helpful, and go above and beyond. I wasn't sure what to expect but it blew me away! We had a riverview cabin that I believe had been recently updated as it was fairly modern looking. The setting by the river is so peaceful, and there is so...

We are two American couples who spent four nights at Black Rock Lodge the first week of May. Comfortable lodge in a beautiful spot with the Macal River and pool to keep cool. It was pretty hot a few days, even for the locals. We did some great trips to ATM cave and to Xunantunich stopping at San Ignacio market....

Unfortunately we did not know April is the warmest month with everyday temps over 100 degrees we nonetheless loved the Black Rock Lodge. The accommodations, excursions and food are great. The staff is one of the best we have experienced and helpful in every sense. On top of all this we met many new friends and shared a great time...

We have visited the lodge with our 3 year old boy. Have to say the place is absolutely stunning, the little lodge we had was amazing overlooking the river. Nothing was too much or too hard for the staff. I never met such lovely people. They make you feel like you are visiting your best friend's house. All the trip...

Wonderful place nestled on the Macal River in the mountains of the Cayo District. Wonderful ownership, wonderful staff, beautiful rooms, great food and amazing birding. Special shout out to Diego, one of the the lodges guides. Great guy with incredible knowledge, amazing eagle eyes and great sense of humor. Thank you Black Rock!

This was my first visit to Belize and also my first time in a jungle. From the second we got out of the airport we were completely taken care of by Black Rock Lodge. They drove us to the lodge (a 2.5 hour long drive) all the while giving us information and advice about our stay. I highly recommend having...

We recently did a jungle/beach tour of Belize and Black Rock was the highlight of the trip for me! It may not be the easiest place to get in and out of, but I think that makes it all the more special and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a truly outstanding jungle lodge. The property is in a...

Black rock lodge was the best place I have ever stayed. As soon as we arrived we were treated with free rum punch (or a non alcoholic drink of choice) and we sat by the bird feeder as we were given the introduction to the lodge. The grounds are gorgeous with so many activities to do on site like bird...
