I've stayed here whilst climbing in the Cairngorms, really nice breakfast selection, very comfy rooms, attentive friendly owners. Excellent dinner menu, streets ahead of the places in Aviemore. you will not be disappointed

The hotel was clean, comfortably warm and welcoming. I asked for a room on the first floor - stairs being a problem. Room changed with no problem, but my room {3} had two steps up to the ensuite bathroom - can't win them all. The lounges were both comfortable with a real fire in one of them. Restaurant was very... A nice welcome from friendly staff when we called in for an evening meal. The soup was delicious and the rest of the meal was very tasty also. The hotel is set in a beautiful location. An enjoyable experience. Will definitely return.

From the outside the Rowan Tree does not necessarily impress , however it more than exceeded expectations once inside. The blazing fire in the beautiful cast iron grate greets you as you enter, closely followed by a welcome from the friendly and amenable members of staff. Our room was small but immaculately clean and pleasantly decorated. In the bathroom ,... More

There is wallchip & artex in the dining room- this is the only negative I can find & to be honest only noticed as I was by myself. Lovely natural welcome, room very comfortable and still has quirks (& cracks) but high spec decoration. The food was absolutely fantastic, really I closed my eyes to taste better. If you like... Warm welcome and great location for local activities, walking and photography. Generous breakfast and good choices. Only negative comment would be that some decor is in need of updating. Only 5 min drive to Aviemore centre so perfect for a more quiet location.

Just spent another fantastic stay at The Rowan Tree, my sixth visit in 10 years! Monique, Steve and Sheena and the rest of the staff were as welcoming and accommodating as ever and the food, even though myself and my partner are vegetarian, was delicious. Our dog was, as always, well catered for and we even have our breakfast and... More

We enjoyed our visit to the Rowan Tree. The room was very acceptable, great breakfasts, and the food in the restaurant was very good. The location was perfect for exploring the Cairngorms. We visited a couple of distilleries as well as Aviemore, and drove around the area enjoying the beautiful landscapes.

Nice to be offered our choice of available rooms on arrival. Very helpful and flexible, with good advice on a pre-dinner stroll near the loch and river. Excellent dinner, wine and whiskies. Very comfortable room, with lovely view. Highly recommended.

Just back from a 3 night stay with my mum and two dogs. Hotel delivered on customer care, accommodation and food. Staff and owners very customer orientated and despite being very busy always had time for a wee blether. Breakfast well presented and tasty. Ate in the 3 nights as the food good. Location great for the dogs and for... More
