Killiecrankie House, in the midst of the Perthshire Hills is a little bit of heaven. the owners have created a perfect environment to enjoy fine dining at its best. The accommodation is extremely comfortable, the welcome when you arrive and the service throughout the stay was way above average and the tasting menu for dinner was a feast to behold. The meal was all about quality, not quantity, but by the end wee were more than full. Each dish was a fusion of tastes that excited the palette and the experience overall was the equivalent of a 2 Michelin Star restaurant but with a degree of intimacy and personal service you would not normally get in such an establishment. Tom and Matilda have created something special and I would highly recommend their creation to anyone who enjoys fine dining at its best

Booked dinner at Killiecrankie House as a special anniversary treat and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Their tasting menu consists of a variety of small plates, all beautifully presented and each one well explained throughout the evening. Everything was unusual and bursting with flavour. We opted for the drinks pairing which included wine sake and beer and well worth trying. The owners were extremely welcoming and staff were attentive and knowledgeable. There is a beautifully decorated cocktail bar and lounge where you can relax pre and post meal and the dining area has an open kitchen allowing you to see the chefs at work. A very chilled and delicious dining experience, would highly recommend!

Best tasting menu I can remember. Beautiful to behold with intense flavours and the right quirky humour. Great location and patient, charming, informative hosts who are happy to interact and share their love of food at its finest.

A place with heart and soul. Every aspect of the food, drink and accommodation at Killiecrankie comes from the deep passion that Tom and Matilda clearly have for what they do. Not only is it worth the trip alone for the meal, but the rooms themselves are top-notch and the surrounding Killiecrankie and Pitlochry offer breathtaking views. One of the best drinks pairings I’ve ever had with a tasting menu - don’t hesitate.

This is really a restaurant with rooms. There are no twin-bedded rooms so we had 2 bedrooms which were very comfortable although the bath plug failed to retain the water when run.

The sitting area was uncomfortable, too small and needed the fire to be lit.

On the other hand the food was absolutely delicious and would go again for that but sadly they are not open for lunch which is a pity as I would not stay overnight again

Strongky recommended. This restaurant combines highly imaginative, innovative cooking with friendly, informative service. The combination of ingredients and techniques was inspired, and the Discovery wine flight full of interest.

We joined friends for dinner and were welcomed by the owners like old friends as we were very early for dinner. Wonderful seating area in the lounge before dinner, the decor is beautiful, wonderful job done. Cocktails are fabulous and the whole team are amazing and cannot do enough for you. We hadn’t seen each other for a while and people had travelled from all over the world and we honestly had the best night in a perfect location. It’s a beautiful place!!! Dinner was wonderful and again the team and restaurant fantastic. Thank you so so much. Hospitality isn’t easy with very long hours and you are smashing it! See you again soon hopefully.

We arrived to the warmest of welcomes, we ate the most delicious food, we slept in the most comfortable and well equipped room and enjoyed the most wonderful experience. Matilda, Tom and all the staff are truly exceptional.

If ever a restaurant deserves a Michelin Star it's this one!

Killiecrankie House what a place, what a restaurant to behold!
Before you die go and experience the tasting menu at Killiecrankie House. The dishes are superbly thought out, prepared and presented. Sublime flavours and textures accompany by interesting stories. Tom and Matilda put in a huge amount of effort to source ideas, ingredients and then put it all together. Tom also has unique way of explaining each dish and invites interaction.
Another surprise was the Octomore loving barman who can also rustle up a mean cocktail.

The venue itself is a gem but we didn’t stay over so can’t comment on the accommodation but judging by the restaurant it can only be superb.
Our visit was on a recent Friday evening and we were the only guests so had the pleasure of having 7 people attending to the needs of 2 of us. It couldn’t get better
Tom and Matilda, may your stars shine brightly.

We cannot thank Tom & Matilda enough for the extraordinary culinary experience, wonderful stay and the unforgettable memories. We have been lucky enough to dine & stay at some great places but this is a cut above the rest as they offer a truly unique experience. Their attention to detail and the work that they and their team give to each and every guest is exceptional. They deserve every bit of praise and accolades. We cannot wait to return!
