Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Why is this hotel still functioning. It was smelly, dirty and run down. Windows broken, lukewarm water, net curtain hanging off, rooms smelling of stale tobacco and other things. Staff doing their best. Please close the bed and breakfast section down immediately and refurbish it. It is shameful. It has great potential because of its location in the centre of Claremorris and near knock and for touring that side of Ireland. etc.

It is with much regret that we have to write such a poor review of this hotel. We were visiting claremorris for a function in another hotel and had no alternative but to stay in the Western ... absolutely blummin’ disgraceful is the only way to describe it! The only positive were the 2 (very young) friendly staff - who seemed to be running the show on all fronts, from bar to ‘restaurant’ to reception - fair dues to them, doing their best with what looked like little or no other support. The general common areas were absolutely disgustingly dirty, filthy, damp and mouldy... we could go on and on but I think the earlier reviews cover most of the issues! With regard to the room, furniture falling apart, lights not working, broken mattress ... the list goes on! Between badly opening…

Initial reaction to this hotel was very poor, the outside is shabby and reminiscent of a homeless hostel. The inital foyer was dirty and needed serious investment. There was nobody on reception, bell didn't work and the staff seemed to have to man everything from bar to reception. The room was at least clean but the window did not shut properly which meant no sound insulation which was significant later on when apparently Super Sunday was going on with youngsters partying till 4am. Not the hotels but their choice of room for me and the faulty window were. To be fair the night porter got me another quieter room (at 1.30am) In addition nothing seemed to be working, hot water took an age to kick in, the key cards kept failing and the breakfast was at best average, WiFi did not…

Would not recommend anyone to stay here... got to our room we had 2 windows each window had approx of 20 to 40 blue bottle flies. Red pillow on bed had a white stain not gonna say what but I leave u guess. Rang reception she said she would be up 10 mins later my husband had to go down to her she came up with him to say cleaner cleaned room etc moved use to a different room was abit better until shower was freezing. Wardrobes had no hangers and side of bed had vomit on it. Bed was like something from the 70s bloody horrible to sleep in. Couldn't sleep over next door couple romping all night and having a party at 5am fellas that had bedrooms in b&b where outside front screaming and shouting for a good hour as they couldn't get in and being 6 months pregnant I had no sleep woke up…
