I found the Wheatsheaf in the Michelin guide - such a shining review so I knew it was worth the extra journey (we were down for a party in Warminster). Right from the moment I spoke to the owner on the phone when booking, I knew we would get a warm welcome. He was charming. I loved the way our...

Warm welcome with a dirty boot store just outside probably lovely in summer to as you can eat outside not an option in January. Inside nicely furnished some good beer and a good menu. We were ready to eat anything. I had a black pudding sausage roll! Excellent and I will have to try to cook it at home. Roast...

We stayed two nights at The Wheatsheaf and as a number of reviews had suggested there was a distinct smell of damp in the bedroom. However, the room was clean, warm and comfortable with no suggestion of damp in the bed. The bathroom was on the small side, but on a more positive note, there was a large walk in...

Excellent service and food. Some fancy options mixed with very well done pub classics. We're very happy to have found another great countryside food option outside Bath. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.

We were visiting bath for a wedding and chose to stay here rather than in the centre of bath. Initially on approach we were concerned as it is hidden away in the middle of nowhere but this turned out to be part of its charm. We felt so relaxed as it was so quiet and peaceful and a lovely country...

We stayed for a weekend and were well looked after - lovely breakfasts, well (and seemingly recently) furnished rooms, beautiful setting and easy access to bath (park and ride close by but with a large group it was similar in cost and very easy to rely on large taxis which were readily available in both directions). We also ate an...

Although only 4 miles from Bath the Wheatsheaf seems buried in the depths of the countryside. It certainly takes some finding and a few pointers on the approach would be helpful. The staff are excellent; friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable and very quiet at night . We ate dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed it...

Brilliant. Lovely views, high up hidden away with beautiful gardens. Ping pong trees birds. Lovely food. Can recommend this delightful pub. Bedroom charming and private, bit like your own wee cottage in the country.

As a frequent weekend visitor to the area, if the sun is shining we make a point of visiting the Wheatsheaf. The large terraced garden has plenty of tables, making it the perfect place to relax in the sun. Staff are always polite and friendly, giving the place a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
