Me and my husband went today for Sunday lunch and I have to say it was amazing! We arrived having not pre booked and were greeted straight away and seated. House beers were beautiful and they have a truly out of this world selection of wines. Our order was taken from the table and starters arrived very quickly. The soup...

We have been to The Wheatsheaf before but I felt it necessary to give praise when deserved. As always the service, food and atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. We have two young children who were also well received and Bill who is a young local resident made a good friend for both of our children! It's a very relaxed atmosphere and...

This was my first visit to this beautiful pub, I cant believe I've not been there before as several of our party had so this visit went on there recommendation. Set in a stunning village location with beautiful gardens and as it was a glorious day we were able to enjoy the gardens before we were seated inside for lunch....

They say in life you pay for what you get and that is certainly true with this place. Tucked away in a beautiful location. Lovely, comfortable room. Food in the restaurant was fantastic and the dessert was probably one of the best I have ever tasted! The guys and their dogs were very welcoming and always keen to ensure happiness....

Our favourite 'summer' pub (sitting outside is a joy) is no more. We have enjoyed ourselves here on many occasions, soaking in the peaceful and gentle views from the terrace on warmer evenings, but can no longer justify eating here and paying such high and unwarranted prices. Although the food is good, the service excellent (thanks guys) and the ambience...

My wife and I visited The Wheatsheaf Inn following a long walk and discovered I had left my wallet at home and had only £4.00 in small change between us! Embarassed I explained my predicament to the bar lady and settled for 2 half pints of beer. After 5 minutes she appeared and presented us with a large bowl of...

Our family of seven adults, a teenager and 14month old baby had a great Sunday lunch here today. We had the three courses and every morsel was delicious. The staff are welcoming and efficient. It was our first visit and it will not be the last. Hope the weather is better next time so we can sit outside and enjoy...

Well we had a further amazing visit today for Mothering Sunday. Warm welcome by name from Ian and James. Staff amazing and fire was crackling away while we waited for our table. Food was stunning, ham hock to start with and then roast beef which was terrific. Can't fault in any way and even a plant for my wife when...

For the second year running we had a fabulous evening here. Champagne and loads of delicious canapés to start followed by a wonderful tasting menu of 6 courses at a very reasonable price considering to top notch quality of the food. The evening ended with fireworks display. It felt like being with a large group of friends even though we...

The wheatsheaf was a beautiful and cosy place to stay for 2 nights. It could have been perfect if it wasn't for the first day when a member of staff walked straight into our room without so much as a knock or apology. After collecting something he then left without a word..... My partner went to clarify if this is...
