Grounds and views of rolling countryside and the Poppi Castle in the distance are spectacular. Our 3 bedroom villa was very clean, nicely furnished with an updated kitchen, comfortable beds & beautiful views. The manager was very friendly and helpful in locating nearby restaurants and attractions. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

We stayed in Antico Fio for one week in August 2013 and we loved it! We first spotted it on the internet when searching for wedding venues and fell in love with it! And it was so much better when we saw it in person! We've organised to have our wedding there in August 2014! It's just perfect.
Sara and her family who run the place are so accommodating and very friendly!

There were 5 of us and we stayed in Apartment Rosa which was very spacious, and clean with a large terrace outside.

We have just returned from Antico Fio, where we celebrated our wedding with 30 of our closest family and friends, including four small children. All of our guests stayed with us for the week and absolutely loved it! The children in particular loved the pool which was great as they were happy to spend most of their time in it. Taxi services in and around Poppi are quite limited and the walk in to town can be a bit much for young children if they aren't used to the heat, and especially if you don't have a buggy or pram.
All of the apartments and rooms were fantastic and there was more than enough room for everyone. My husband and I stayed in Apartment Girasole which was beautiful, with stunning views over the gardens and Poppi castle.
Sara and Simonetta (the owners), and their wider family circle are absolutely fantastic and so accommodating! They arranged to have dinner and drinks served on the night we arrived even though we didn't get there until around 10pm. We also had breakfast on the first 3 mornings of our stay and a pizza party the night before the wedding. The pizza party was amazing! There is a wood fired pizza oven built in to the villa and the pizzas were cooked fresh within minutes. If you opt for a pizza party, I would advise you to go hungry as they served a selection of 'starter pizzas' followed by a full pizza per person, as well as wine, beer, soft drinks, and a celebration cake, followed by coffee and limoncello!!! It was the perfect kick-start to the wedding celebrations!
The in-house chef, Linda, looked after the catering for our wedding day and I could not fault it at all! Every one of the 5 courses was simply divine! The winning dish however was the taglioni in duck sauce! Delicious.
Antico Fio also produces its own wine which is beautiful. We made sure to stock up before we left! If you plan on visiting Poppi during the last week in August, be sure to check out the local wine festival, Il Gusto dei Guidi. It's a fantastic way to see the old town, and a must for wine-lovers!
We are so happy that we chose Antico Fio as the setting for both our ceremony and reception. We had the most incredible time and we have every intention of returning in the future!

We rented Antico Fio for three days in June 2014 to celebrate our wedding together with friends and family. We very comfortably fitted 34 people but could have fitted at least four more without resorting to the multiple sofa double beds.

The location is excellent with breathtaking views across rolling hills towards Poppi and its castle. It is secluded with a high degree of privacy, as long as the neighbouring party venue is not in use. In our case, the owners specifically made sure this was empty during our stay. The distance to the castle is about three kilometres, very walkable according to the guests who did so. This is important since several of our guests encountered problems obtaining a taxi in Poppi.

We rented the entire facility and saw all the apartments. They are all very nice, in good condition, clean, plenty of space, and the property is very well maintained. The boiler did give out in one apartment but this was immediately fixed. Despite the heat (around 35 C the entire period) the apartments stayed pleasantly cool. We did not even have to use the AC. The pool was also surprisingly large allowing for some laps as well as play. It became the natural center of gravity for the stay.

The owners, Sara and Simonetta, are very pleasant and extremely friendly. They went the extra mile to make our stay and our celebrations the fantastic experience that it was. They are helpful, considerate, and extremely accommodating. Where our planning was not set, they took the initiative and arranged things for the best. Very professional and very good.

Antico Fio offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner by arrangement. Linda, the chef, is very friendly and an excellent cook. She did our brunch and dinner on the day of the celebrations and we were extremely pleased with the menu as well as the quality of the food.

In summary, this was an excellent stay and celebration, made so much better by the staff and the location. If we have to say something negative, it would be that the beds are on the short side for a 6'4" person. Would it stop us from going back? Not by a long shot. In fact, we as well as several of our guests would be happy to do so regularly. We know from friends how complicated and expensive a wedding can be but this was gorgeous and hassle-free thanks to this absolutely magnificent venue and its fantastic owners.

La Dolce Vita, our perfect wedding took place here. Antico Fio has everything: 360 degree views of the Tuscan hills, the castle of Poppi and their own vineyard. Sara, her mother and the rest of their team have provided unforgettable days for my family and our guests. I am very grateful to them and also Tiziana (catering) and Nicola (flowers). Everything was right for our dream wedding! Lots of love, Mascha and Jorn

Good local food, not too fancy. Great caterer available for events. Beautiful surroundings with views towards Poppi Castle. Unheated but fenced in swimming pool. Great little apartments, a bit dark though, stays cool in summer.

April,2017,

Was my second time visiting Antico Fio. The first time was in September 2016 . We went to visit the site because we where looking for a place to get married.
When I arrived at Antico Fio I was in Ah! The second I walk out of the car to meet the owners they made us feel welcome and at home. Every corner that I look at there was beauty.
To see the wonders of the greenery , the mountains, the wine yard ,the castle,
I knew from that moment that this was the place.

In April,2017 we decide to go back to finalize the details of our wedding that is taking place in September, 2017. We stayed two days and we where completely convinced at this point that we had made the best choice.
Even thought there was clouds and a little rain here and there, It was magnificent. Need to mention how sweet and amazing and wonderful the owners are Simonetta and Sara. The second time Sara was not there but her mother Simonetta made us feel comfortable and at home.
At this point I can't wait to go back in September and see them and live a week in that beautiful scenery and to finally feel the magic and live those moments with our family and friend and present them to Sara and Simonetta. A presto.

We stayed for a week in the Camelia house at Antico Fio. The Agriturismo itself was very nice with a beautiful garden, a nice pool and a swing for the kids. The house was also very nice, perhaps a bit more plates, forks, knives and glasses would have been a good idea. But then again, with a dishwasher, who cares....

The owner welcomed us with two cold beers, a very 'warm' welcome!

On the Agriturismo premises, there is also a space reserved for weddings. The owner told us that there was a wedding on the night we arrived, with some noise while the party lasted. On the one hand, this may sound disturbing, on the other it is better tolerate and think back of own festivities where having a good time is best combined with music, so again who cares. All in all, Antico Fio is a nice place and recommendable for sure. Make sure to visit Arezzo and Poppi and above all enjoy the pool and sunbeds!

Nice swimming pool, well-kept apartments but with very thin walls and ceilings. You can hear every little noise, so it's not exactly the ideal situation for relaxing. Be careful when booking, especially if it is summer! We slept there on the night there was a wedding (which we hadn't been warned about, otherwise we would have canceled the booking) and at 1am we could still hear the karaoke blaring and people chatting very loudly outside from the room we wanted to sleep in. We had to call the front desk to have the music turned down. Obviously the chaos and shouting continued until late at night.

"This was our third stay in Antico Fio. We travelled in August 2013 with 3 others and stayed in Apartment Rosa which was very spacious, with access to a large terrace over-looking the vineyard! A beautiful spot to have breakfast, or to chill with a glass of vino. The two of us stayed in Apartment Papavero in June 2014. Best value for couples and an abundance of space. I would highly recommend Girasole as the bridal suite!!"
