The overall hotel is very nice, all things considered. We arrived late and only stayed one night (a few hours) in a room with a king size bed. Reception is 24-hours and the facilities are very well-maintained. We weren't able to make use of the pool, but nevertheless, it seems like everything is in top shape. All of the rooms... More

We very impressed with this beautiful hotel! Coming from Boquete it is the first hotel you come to before you get into Santiago. The lobby has a very modern tropical feel to it. It is very sleek and clean, there is a bar, and it opens up to the beautiful pool area! The hotel room we were given was sparse... More

I think perhaps I would be more forgiving if this place did not tout itself so much in all of its advertising. All of the descriptions on their website are overblown. What this place really is, is a basic, decent nights stay between Panama City and the Chiriqui province. It is hardly an eco-resort. Just because you offer mountain bikes... More

Hotel was clean, rooms were spacious with lots of areas to spread your stuff around (unlike most Latin American hotels), Grounds include walking trails through forest and alongside small streams and the large lake. Foodies will love the gourmet restaurant, Large swimming pool was clean and well maintained every day. A/C had a remote so you did not have to... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and the hotel was nicely appointed. Dinner was an unexpected delight - some of the best Italian food that we've had in Panama. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Even though the hotel is right off the highway, the location was quiet and peaceful. We didn't get... More

On our way from Panama City to Boquete we stopped at the Vista Lago Exoresort Hotel. The location in in the middle of nowhere: it's lovely quite, but you need a taxi if you want to go anywhere else. Staff was very kind, swimming pool was nice and we had a good diner in the restaurant. But it's definitely not... More

Halfway between Panama City and Boquete, this hotel is a decent place to stop. Rooms are clean and spacious, and the dining room food is pretty good (a good thing because there's nowhere else to eat for some distance). The hotel provides a room safe, which I strongly advise you use at all times when you are out of your... More

I couldn't decide if this should be a 3 or 4 star. It was comfortable and nice and the food in the restaurant was good. However, it was nothing exceptional and the price was probably a little on the high side. It was clean, though, and we had no bad experiences. The front desk arranged for our clothes to be... More

Location is pretty good, near Santiago. But that's about all I can say positive about this property. No investments made there in quiet some time, the rooms are spartan with little to no décorations, the AC filter has not been changed and the unit not serviced in some time which makes for an awful smell in the room. No fridge... More

Good evening and thank you for your review. Regarding the room somebody can call them spartan somebody else like as the are made by local wood and piaces and homemade. Each peace is different as we use the materials coming from our own forest. We did it in order to give to the room something that cluld match with the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Vista Lago managed by professional Italian Managers and local staff, lies down on the banks of a little lake surrounded by hills and virgin forests with an extension of about 50 hectares. In our main philosophy, give the opportunity to our clients to have an experience that could exceed the idea of a classic hotel, is our goal. Relax watching the beauty of the surrounds, enjoy the quiet of the lake and landscape. Perhaps walking along one of our paths into the vegetation and watching the local fauna around the lake. Rooms are ample as the bathrooms with facilities like: A/C, free wi-fi, cable TV, safe and most of them with refrigerator. And we are Italian so we just can't forget how important for us.. eat well! High culinary standard with huge choice. Restaurant is open all day long. Tha swimming pool is surrounded by our garden and next to the bar always ready to serve you a fresh drink of one of out "picadillas" if you'd like to eat something. Free wi-fi all around the hotel. So, let us change this words in little and pleasent attentions that we would like to dedicate to you ... more   less
