Very nice welcome by the owner. Staff is customer oriented. Restaurant food and drinks are 100 % and good quality. You can stay in a luxury tent with your own terrace bbq and all you need. Magnificient view. Good place to start your holidays after arriving in Capetown.

I am always a bit wary about smaller game reserves as they can often be a bit "canned". But Thali Thali has a good range of animals over a wide area. The game drive was good and the guide knowledgeable and interesting. Perhaps the best part of this reserve is the bird life. Waking up here is like waking up...

We only stayed in the luxury tent number 8 for a single night. On arrival we received a welcoming drink to enjoy on the deck while they prepared our tent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a mission carry all the bags from the car to the tent having to walk through to loose sand. Tip: pack...

I love the fact that there's a restaurant onsite. The staff members are friendly and the mix of rustic, peaceful atmosphere, wild game wandering around makes this a lovely venue for a short get-away-from-it-all.

We stayed over at Thali Thali in one of the B&B luxury tents which are very neat and tidy. This 3-star lodge is well laid out and the atmosphere is very serene. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were superb and the portions are very generous. If you want to unwind and just relax this is the place to be...

Thali Thali is such a special place with beautiful chalets and tents to stay in. Our kids loved that there was some buck coming right up to the chalets. Experiencing Safari, bow shooting and making friends. What a lovely family that is running the resort. We enjoyed sunset drinks on the deck and lovely food.

My Mother who is fairly old and moderately inform was making her first trip to Africa to visit us in Cape Town and the surrounding areas. We book both this lodge and Inverdoorn for a night so she could get a taste of safari without heading up to Namibia or off to Kruger. Both of those options would have been...

A wonderful time we had in Thali Thali,it is very quiet and beautiful area, staff are very friendly and dinner is good. We had a cottage, they are basic but clean and tidy. The game drive was oke, unfortunately we had the big car, tractor and it doesn t work well. It seems very old, maybe next time more new...

Pleasant place to stay for a couple of days. Staff are really friendly but very over-worked. They always have a smile despite the pressure. Don't mistake this place for a game reserve it is more attuned to a children's fun weekend. One game drive is ample. Also, be prepared - the restaurant is not open on a Sunday evening.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Thali Thali is a 1,460 hectare Cape West Coast game and fynbos reserve situated just off the R27 near Langebaan, just over 1 hours drive from Cape Town, bordering the West Coast National Park. The Cape West Coast is intoxicating and the Langebaan area with its beautiful lagoon has a charm that keeps people coming back year after year. We are proud of our 3-star grading and we can welcome up to 29 guests to our family. Our restaurant is open daily and we serve generous, beautifully displayed food. A visit to Thali Thali offers the ideal laid-back West Coast style break-away - complete with game drives, archery lessons and sundowners on the deck for the not so adventurous. We boast a wide range of game like kudu, oryx, giraffe, red hartebeest, eland, zebra, springbok, black wildebeest, duiker, bontebok, steenbok, ostrich, dromedary camel and emu. The reserve is also home to many different bird species and guests are welcome to enjoy a walk in the fynbos to view these creatures. ... more   less

“As for the newly renovated tents ”

“We were in one of the cottages and my suggestion is that the table and bench on the verandah be replaced with comfortable garden chairs and table. Sometimes you just want to be alone, but there's nowhere comfortable to sit in the cottage. The other development area is that the latest public smoking laws are not applied - but this seems to be a general West Coast thing.”

“If staying for longer periods choose on of the self-catering units as the luxury tents don`t have kitchens.”

“Watch you head and the steps. These are good old building with nice character. Built before liability law though. Very nicely appointed and quirky.”

“no room tip, your hear the kitchen staff ' talking ' from the tent you stay in, plus there is a constant back ground noise from the road and when you look around you have views on the electric power masts, not shown on the pictures on their website.”
