Small hotel with few rooms. Accommodations simple. Staff is friendly. Community kitchen is available. Glacier runoff flows right past bedroom window. Independent glacier hike is available via gravel trail. They also have glacier tours via all terrain vehicle. Tour buses stop during the day, but in the evening and early morning you have the place to yourself. The valley leading...

Due to a change in plans we came unexpectedly to this hotel near the glacier. The room is basic but fine, waterkettle with tea/coffee in the room, no hairdryer. Staff is so friendly, breakfast is ok, however this is also the starting place of the walk to the glacier, so busses full arrive from 8 AM. There is also a...

The Hotel is a secondary priority for this establishement. Breakfast starts at 9:00 and the Restaurant is only open until 20:00 in the evening. we had to retreat to our rooms after that. The restaurant food and the hotel rooms are basic but ok. This spot is good if you want to be close to the glacier but don't expect...

My husband made a last minute change in our itinerary. We were staying 3 nights in Alesund and driving to Balestrand. We decided to shorten our stay in Alesund and find a location nearer to Balestrand. I found a room available Briksdalsbre Fjellstove for the one night. Upon arrival we were unable to find the front desk or where to...

We stayed here for one night on our way from Ålesund to Bergen. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a bit confusing at check in, as we were not sure where to go. There are only a few rooms so there is no reception desk, you check in at the Kafeteria. The staff was friendly. The rooms are...

We stayed here for 1 night with 2 young boys - 9 & 5, and it was just awesome. Very cozy cabin with Waterfall view - you can't beat this. This was like living in heaven. The cabin had all the amenities what we need and yes, fast internet too - which we only used to stream songs while enjoying...

We stayed here last night and were struck by the friendliness of the staff, the excellent local lamb we had for supper and good buffet breakfast. The room was comfortable and more than adequate for us. Great to have access to a shared kitchen and free washing machine. Can't wait to return 😃

We were pleasantly surprised with this room. Set under the souvenir shop and with undercover, free parking ideal set up for wet weather unpacking and packing of cars. The room was clean, comfortable bed, good shower, of reasonable size and had tea, coffee and electric jug available. No hair dryer. There was a washing machine and kitchen facilities available down...

My wife and I and our daughter stayed at this cabin for 1 night, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great view of the waterfall and glacier from the turf-roofed cabin with no noise from the faraway neighboring cabins. The spotless cabin can easily accomodate a family of 4 with a fully equipped kitchen and lovely dining room and living room (no...

I stayed here touring the Fjord area on a motorcycle, arriving late in the afternoon. I originally booked a Hyatt but thought it a waste for one person, so I changed to a room, I then could have a free breakfast for the same price. My room was large, clean and the shower room was very good, parking was under...
