My husband and I spent a week in Tenuta Savorgnano and it was a wonderful break in the perfect setting. A wonderfully restored property with just about everything you could possibly want on this kind of holiday. So convenient for visiting many wonderful places in Southern Tuscany and Umbria and such a treat to return to at the end of the day. Also great if you just want to spend the day relaxung by the pool. Paul is the perfect host so helpful and friendly - we're looking forward to going back for our next visit already!

Tenuta Savorgnano is a lovely place to stay. It's quiet and peaceful. Paul (and Jon) are friendly, kind and generous hosts, and they are very knowledgeable about things to do and places to visit and where to eat etc. This is a great area to visit with historic towns and loads to see. I would recommend either driving there, and taking your time, staying at two or three places on the way or flying, hiring a car for your stay and using it to get out and about. We stay in an apartment, usually La Luna, and it's always clean and resourced with basics and thank you Paul for the bottle of wine! I highly recommend it!

Fantastic, peaceful location in depths of the countryside. Accommodation was very comfortable, meeting all our needs, and the large swimming pool was particularly inviting. Paul gave us a very warm welcome and provided lots of useful information about the area throughout our visit. Our trips to Anghiari, Arezzo and Sansepulcro were particularly memorable.

We arrived early evening to a very warm welcome from owners Paul and Jon who immediately made us feel at home. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very well furnished, the kitchen is well equipped with all you would need and more, the setting is wonderful and an ideal base to explore Tuscany although a hire car is a must. Paul and Jon are perfect hosts and a mine of information recommending many places to visit (Siena is a must). We have already decided to visit again next September, many, many thanks to Paul and Jon for a perfect break in a perfect setting, altogether perfect hosts.

We had a wonderful family week in August staying in Le Stelle and La Luna apartments and would fully recommend Tenuta Savorgnano to all of you. Paul and Jon - as noted by so many, you are perfect hosts and this isn't just one Sheffielder addressing another, although we're a special breed. We really enjoyed the delicious meal we had with you, and lots of music talk. Having begun our holiday with a few days near Volterra amidst the classic post card views of Tuscany with it's familiar open vistas, cypresses etc, it was an interesting contrast to visit this eastern part of Tuscany with a very different landscape, and whilst it's heavily wooded and you don't get views in the same way, it was a relief to be off the tourist trail somewhat and to hear fewer British voices. We didn't venture too far, with Arezzo to the west and Sansepolcro to the east our limits during the week. We fell in love with Anghiari, the nearest town, and patronised its cafes (Baldaccio a real hit as promised) and its daytime market and evening craft market. It's a 20 minute drive for a reasonably cautious driver - try to shave too much off this and some of the tight bends on the road could catch you unawares. We enjoyed the wildlife, including hearing wild boar nearby on our first evening and waiting on the road to Anghiari another day as a family of boar crossed nonchalantly ahead of us - also lizards and a variety of insects. It's good that there are some well-marked trails in the neighbourhood, which we enjoyed, though heat by 10 meant this had to be an early morning expedition, and we found one spot where trees had been cleared to afford a view over to Arezzo as a reward for our efforts - and a magical dense cloud of butterflies. We couldn't have had a more relaxing time or a warmer welcome, and would love to return. Cherry, John, Katie, Charlie and Flora
