Three of us wanted a comfortable spot to stay for our Tongariro Crossing. Discovery Lodge exceeded our expectations. The chalet was modern, spacious, well appointed, very comfortable. (Note, we did not stay in a hotel room.) Incredible views. The restaurant prepared a fabulous lunch for us to bring on the crossing. The bus service to and from the crossing was...

Discovery runs the earliest shuttle to the start of the Tongariro Crossing, a truly awesome and beautiful place, so that you can get some time to experience the beauty without too many other people. The staff at the Discovery Lodge are very welcoming and helpful. They provided packed breakfast and lunch so, with accommodation, food and the shuttle, they provide...

Stayed in the self-contained campervan and it was OK. Highly recommended to book in advance - we arrived in the late evening and were able to stay but when I went to pay in the morning I was informed it's against the rules.

The gal at the desk was very friendly, and just let me pick whatever site I wanted, which was good and bad. Tis location does not have wifi ("back to nature") and the campervan sites are covered with grass. It happened to be raining the first night I was there and I had a hard time keeping the grass clippings...

Discovery Lodge is one of the best accommodations around National Park. A good view of Tongariro Mountain from their deck. Offering shuttle to the mount for people who love ski and nature. Near to the best spot of National Park. Good customer service and friendly staff. Thanks to Collum and Micky for their hospitality. I definitely will come back :)

Stayed a night before heading up the Mountain to tramp the Tongariro Northern Circuit. Rooms are clean and not fancy but warm and up to date. Owners happy to keep our spare vehicle stored there for a few days while we walked the mountain. Easy going relaxed atmosphere and owners so friendly and helpful whenever you need them. They have...

My room was the cleanest I've ever stayed in. It's been very quit & relaxing before a week in the mountains. Linda at the front desk was extremely helpful when I needed to check in early. Alejandra & Mystique even helped me re-string my fishing pole. Stay here...do it.

This property offers a variety of accommodation options including huts, campgrounds, chalets, and the motel. We were there during the shoulder season, which means we pretty much had our pick of the litter as far as accommodation, though we chose to stay in the motel. Our room was on the ground floor, which I wasn't initially crazy about because if...

We were stuck for places and did a last minute booking. They only had their studio chalets available. It certainly exceeded expectations. Though steeper than we had expected to pay, it was worth it. Luxurious, modern and cozy. Shame it was rather cloudy in the morning as it would've been an even more stunning view of Mt Ruapehu. Can't wait...

Booked a Motel Studio for 2 Nights in Early November 2015 for around US$200 for 2 pax Pros: - Location: Short drive away from most places in the Park. Excellent view of the Mountains from the front of the property even if you don't get the room with the view - Service: Very friendly & helpful. Unfortunately, the weather was...
